I've been going through the list of CES Innovations Awardees -- products slated to be shown at the show -- with an eye on sustainability. CES has published a 'Best Of...' list, compiled by a panel of distinguished judges who may just have the juiciest job in the world, if you're a gadget lover. Of the top ten, just like last year, our favorite metal plays a role when it comes to sustainable design and top performance. Take the Pathos Acoustics Adrenalin Amplifier, for example, made in Italy. This thing is an amplifier like a Ferrari is a minivan. And of course, the sculptured enclosure is a single block of high-performing, heat-sinking, recyclable aluminum.
That's only the beginning. There are the usual flat screen TVs, media players, navigators, and more, a lot of great examples of aluminum sustainability and practicality. Even a washer and dryer, stretching the limits of what we mean by consumer electronics.
