Sony has introduced the new VAIO Z and Y Series PC’s that are a new range of candy colored ULV processor-based laptops that have the unique ability to act as a WiFi hotspot for up to five other devices. Select models feature Share My Connection™ (SMC), which is the exclusive new Sony embedded wireless technology. With a SMC subscription, you can turn your laptop into a mobile wireless access point that connects to smart phones, mp3 players, cameras or other network devices.
The Z model offers serious power and portability, carrying at about 3 lbs, while featuring a durable carbon fiber and aluminum casing. It delivers up to seven hours of battery life and incorporates a 13.1 inch high-resolution LED backlit widescreen display. The thin unit also comes with an optical drive with Blu-ray being optional.
The Y Series is a 1.2 inch thick laptop that will run on the new core i3 and i5 chips and have a 13.3 inch led backlit display. This series also comes in five new exciting colors: purple violet, fuchsia pink, pear green, teal blue and black. Also, lower power consumption is offered for an improved battery life.
Pricins is around $770 for the VAIO Y Series and the VAIO Z Series runs for $1,950. These are available now for pre-sale at www.sony.com/pr/smc and at select retailers around the country.
