Love the new pictures!! Glad they r doing ok!! I bet that 3rd one is doing a lot of investigating!! Carol

Jill Anne Sparapany

I love today's pic of the one eaglet in the nest! Also liked the close-up on the deck w/ the river behind the eaglet! They have a great outdoor home space!

Thanks for the pictures and sharing the wonderful experience watching this family of eagles!

John Kinsey

Thanks Mr. John for the update and new photos.

Hope you have a quiet and trouble free weekend.

Also Mr John - you are more than welcome to join us on the Nesters Nest Facebook site - just send a Friend Request for confirmation. I know you stay busy but if you ever have the time,we would all be happy to hear from you.

ColleenM

Thanks for the beautiful pictures Mr. John!!! Nice to see them thriving and growing. Stay cool out there everyone.

John Kinsey

Judith - just read on the previous thread that it's you having the surgery. Hope all goes well and You'll be in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy healing process. If there is anything we can do for you from a distance, please let us know.

Mavis

5:48 EDT

Took a nap and woke up to the excitement of new pictures!! Mr. John...you know what it takes to make us happy! I especially like the shot of the eaglet in the nest. This one shows a different angle of the nest and the clearing they fly in and out of. I like it.

Hope you have a good weekend. You could always take a grill to the deck and Carol, beamg, rodj, and a few others would, I'm sure, love to bring the hot dogs, hamburgers, and fish!! Just kidding...hope you enjoy a relaxing few days off.

Mavis

6:07 EDT

JACK!!! Where are you? I need you to email me!

Eagle Exclusive: Nest Empty
No sound around nest

Jack!! Talk to me, buddy!

Mavis

Judith...can't find Jack. Just email libjusand3 at gmail period com. I'll get it then!! I'll eventually get it from Jack but he is probably in the kitchen baking right now!

RodJ

Yikkeess!! getting hammered by high winds, hail, heavy rain! Sirens going off! Looks like it will miss Davenport area.

Judith Hart
John Kinsey

RodJ - stay safe !

John Kinsey

Judith - do you know what kind of bird that is singing in the background now ?

John Kinsey

Sorry Judith - it stopped just as I posted.

Judith Hart

Thank You John Charles....

Judith Hart

I just heard the train and some little chirpers. What is it?

John Kinsey

A train and some little chirpers ?

Cherrycarol

I hope we get some rain, we need it desperatly!! But not the 70 mile an hour wind.

Judith Hart

I just heard little chirping birds and the sound of the train....I thought that was a test question, and you knew the answer to... What was the singing bird?

John Kinsey

Well - I see a woodpecker in the nest now - Downy or Hairy ?

Judith Hart

Downy

John Kinsey

OK - he just flew off as someone came in for a landing nearby - now I hear him pecking near the camera.

John Kinsey

Now he's back on the limb at 11 oclock

John Kinsey

and now he's at the bottom of the screen

Mavis

Rodj...are you serious?!! OMG! I hope you are safe! It's been an hour since you posted and I just read your post.

John Kinsey

From the radar - looks like the thunderstorms and wind are approaching Davenport area. Winds noticeable on microphone.

Mavis

OMG...the wind is hitting the nest. I hope the babies are safe. I wish they were in the nest...OMG!! This is bad stuff!

Mavis

beamg, Carol, OMG! Catherine, Rod..I hope ALL of you are safe. OMG! How can the eagles stand up in that wind?

John Kinsey

Nest rocking considerably - babies are better off away from it and we know they can fly so no worries. Just another part of their survival training.

John Kinsey

Now Sprinkles is in nest

Mavis

Thank Goodness! Faith made it to the nest! Hope the others come too! She didn't stay...maybe the nest will block the wind where she went (LL)

John Kinsey

Rewound and Sprinkles made a good headwind landing into the nest with no hesisation. Stayed briefly and hopped over to left side.

Mavis

I just hear the wind. I did not hear the sirens for Davenport...did you?

Catherine

The wind is really sounding scary. Saw Faith for the few moments she was there. I hope she has gone to a wind shelter.

John Kinsey

Radar shows that largest t'storm is N of Davenport but more rain and wind to come.

Cherrycarol

I'm across the river & hardly anything here :( Up to 70 mph winds but mostly north of here.

Mavis

Carol..you guys in the QC are tough. 70mph winds are almost hurricane force winds for us..it happens a lot with ya'll. I'm the one getting excited..you all just take it in stride!

I hate to point this out...but I rather it be me than someone else...you all do realize we have been glued to an EMPTY nest riding out a storm with it? Even more amazing...is that we KNOW it and think nothing of it!! That's why I love you guys!!

John Kinsey

Mavis - what do you mean empty nest ? There's all kinds of bones, feathers, fur and notochords in it.Not to mention that high-dollar turtle shell toy that I claim.
I'm sure we're all worried about the safety of those priceless items !

John Kinsey

Someone just landed in nest.

Cheryl

I believe it's Spirit. It sounds like him, but I haven't seen his chest.

John Kinsey

Looks like Faith and she just reclaimed her perch on the branch.

John Kinsey

Then again - it might be Spirit.

Cheryl

I didn't see enough Sprinkles to think it was Faith, but I didn't have full screen when it jumped up on the branch.

Catherine

I think it's Spirit too.

Cheryl

The beak doesn't go back as far as Faith's does.

John Kinsey

Looks like the wind has calmed down some-radar shows some smaller t'storms to the west and moving toward Davenport area.
BBL

beamg

8:09pm CDT The thunder is really rolling and rolling and rolling here. Wind isn't bad but was earlier. Big lightening streaks in the west. We've only gotten a few sprinkles of rain. I found out I don't belong outside right now!

Rodj, has it calmed down by you? I think you're more north than I am and got the worst of the earlier storm.

Carol, are you getting any rain at all?

Not sure who is on the limb but he almost fell asleep and suddenly jerked awake. I wonder if he hears the thunder????

I'm shutting down. Storm's here and cracking.

Carol Issem

great pictures! thank you for keeping us up to date - we have no idea what happens outside the nest, so your pictures tell the story.

Cindy Munger

Trying to remember that Mr. John said they like the wind....I'll bring chocolate cake if there is a BBQ....Choc on choc.

And oh by the way, Harmon has not branched yet. He took a running leap and tried to make it up on a branch and ran smack into the trunk of the tree. And watching him and the conversations make me believe that THIS and YOU ALL are God's best.

Catherine

Spirit flew out of the nest. Hopefully, he will find better shelter from the lightning.

Catherine

The audio is now making a sound. I hope that the lightning didn't break it.

Cindy Munger

ME Too Catherine !

Mavis

JC..EMPTY NEST...with a lot of hidden treasures...we are still glued to the video of an EMPTY NEST with a lot of treasures..mostly good memories!!

John Kinsey

Oh and I forgot about the white changing to orange colored crescent shaped thingy !

Mavis

Cindy..I am still laughing at the thought of Harmon making a running leap into the tree trunk!! This is the BEST site...because we have a lot of people like YOU!!

I think we have lost our sound again. I hope Mr. John wrote down the "fix" the other day! I can't believe this happened on a Friday night!! All weekend without sound beats all weekend without the camera. Some of us wouldn't know what to do if we didn't have the empty nest to look at. AND..SOME people don't know what to do if we don't REPORT that the nest is empty...even though they can see it for themselves.

Yep..this is the ONE AND ONLY site!! Per Cindy!!

Cindy Munger

It was awful to see his confused little face look up at the trunk like "Well, that wasn't what I had in mind. I wonder how Mom does it." Mom did it again and he looked up at her as if to say, "Nope, I tried it that way and it didn't work". He hasn't tried since, poor little guy.

Yes I guess that is why I say this is the BEST site, I consider what each person contributes, and I make sure I can't even see what is being said on Harmon's site.

I wish there was some way of checking on the juvies. HAHA Mr. John needs to hold on to his anonymity, or we would be getting him up out of bed on a weekend and asking him to go check. Thats a fun thought....Only child in me I guess.....

Rjim

I just got caught up this evenings post. You all are awesome. Anyone who checked in to this blog for the first time would think you are all a bunch of old friends...The experience is pretty rare from what I have seen.
As far as the pictures that have been shared, I am searching for your opinions. At first, I didn't detect it, but I think John has fallen in love with this family as much as we all have...He sure does visit down there alot. In fact I bet if Mavis keeps urging him on, soon the little house under the nest is going to be getting some upgrades if you know what I mean. Thanks for the pictures Matt and John. Each of them has given me such an uplifting feeling.

Mavis

The Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado has so far caused 35,000 people to evacuate, 2 deaths, and 350 homes burned down...I do hope they can get the fire under control soon. It is just awful what is happening there.

11:32 EDT...Nest is empty!

Good night everyone.

Mavis

5:49 EDT

Empty Nest

Rattling/Flapping Tape Sound

Spirit's Birthday Today!

Good Morning everyone!!

Judith Hart

Good Morning!
Looks like we'll all get a lot of work done today. I guess they had lightning again.

  Mavis

6:48 EDT

Nest Empty...Sound rattling...No on up...Still Spirit's Birthday.

I HATE TO TELL YA BUT I THINK THE CAMERA IS FROZEN!!

Forget your weekend, Mr. John. We have gone from watching the eaglets to watching an empty nest. It will make Judith grumpy sure enough if she has to watch a FROZEN picture of an empty nest PLUS that RATTLING sound! We don't need Judith grumpy!!!

Oma Kyle

Whoa, Mavis....Mr. John needs and DESERVES his weekend and Judith has already said that she's going to work on other projects. Maybe this is Mother Nature's way to giving all of the eagle watchers on this site a vacation... Will check in again on Monday!

Mavis

Judith..you are too cheerful!! I don't plan to work today! I plan to report the empty nest to those who rely on our comments to know the nest is empty!!

Actually, I'm ok with it. It was YOU I was worried about! It was you and JC that were imagining chirping sounds during the wind storm last night.

Hope everyone is ok and stayed safe. I also hope you got some of that much needed rain!

Humph!! The video just went on PAUSE!! I don't know what it is pausing from but I have to refresh now!!

Mavis

You are so right Oma!! Go back to bed, Mr. John! Enjoy your weekend. Judith is not grumpy afterall. We will be ok now. I'm sure the nest will look the same Monday as it does now!! EMPTY!!
Not much even you can do about that!

Tammy

Cindy, I bet the sight of Harmon running into the tree trunk was funny. I hope he didn't bruise his little beak. Glad you consider us the best!

Mavis

Tammy...did you get any of that storm last night?

That was some rough wind on the nest..but truthfully, I've seen it that rough before when the babies WERE babies!!

I just hope everyone gets the rain they need. I haven't turned on the news yet, but unless Colorado gets rain, I don't know if they can stop that darn fire. I hope they can.

TTYL

Tammy

No part of the storm came anywhere near me. We/the counties surrounding us have even banned the use of fireworks. No outside burning of any sort, etc. If caught, fines and possible jail time. temps still in the triple digits for the next several days. my digital thermometer hit 109 yesterday at 4:20. If you are friends with me, I posted actual photo on FB. And, no rain coming.

Mindy Gibson Frey

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPIRIT/TREY! I still want to call that sweet last hatched baby Trey..lol. Yep, the camera is frozen and making a horrible sound but I think I have finally come to terms with the 3 amigos leaving. Still makes me sad but so very happy that they are doing what nature intended for them. Sure, I would love for them to stay and keep me entertained, but I am thinking they have bigger fish (pun intended!) to fry! This whole experience has opened my eyes. Like someone else said, I find myself looking towards the sky a whole lot more now, and I pay attention more to any and all bird sounds. Who says you cant teach an old dog new tricks? Have a great day, and please please please... be careful in the heat! Keep hydrated! That means drink, drink, drink BEFORE YOU FEEL THIRSTY! Once you feel thirsty, dehydration is already starting! BE SAFE my Eagle friends!

Mavis

Just watched the news on the storms that hit the East last night. The wind caused a lot of damage and power outages. Power out and this heat is not good. So sorry for all the people affected by the storms. Just hope everyone is safe and can find a place to stay cool until repairs are made.

beamg

EAGLE EXCLUSIVE.....CAM IS FROZEN, SOUND IS RAT-A-TATTING. CAN'T SEE EAGLES OR EAGLETS ANYWHERE! NEST EMPTY AS OF THE TIME THE CAM FROZE.

Good morning everyone. Happy Birthday Spirit! Guess Spirit is going to have to celebrate without us watching. Just as I was shutting down last night I saw whoever was on the branch leave the branch and hopefully go to a safer place closer to the ground.

Tammy, so sorry you didn't get any rain at all. Mavis has extra water in Florida if she could just figure out how to send it around to other areas!

Mavis, how is the water situation down there now? Sure hope it's all receeding or sinking into the ground so people can get back to normal. Doesn't it just make you feel helpless seeing those wildfires? Those poor people!

I think the rain here lasted pretty much all night off and on. We have 1/2" in our rain guage and we're grateful for every drop of that! And it's much cooler at just 72° but the humidity is 89% with no rain at the moment.

Colleen and Oma, did you get rain yet? I know the storms from Iowa where headed your way so I'm hoping you got rain but not those horrible winds and all.

Mindy, I suppose we should drink water and not punch or slush! I've been dehydrated and it's not fun. I've gotten smarter in my old age, can see the signs and get myself into the house before it gets so bad. I used to think I could just finish what I'm doing 'cause this is my only day off and then go inside but that would be too late.

Guess I should get at some things around here or go sit outside while it's cooler. BBL

beamg

Can't believe I forgot this: THANKS MR. JOHN FOR THE PICS YESTERDAY! I just love them, especially the parent soaring in the air looking like it's screaming. Very cool to see!

Cheryl

Wow...the camera and the sound. It's gonna be a long weekend! lol I hope the fishing lessons go full steam ahead.

We finally got some rain here last night. It stormed north of us earlier in the evening and it was a possibility that the storm headed our way would fall apart before it got here. Thankfully it wasn't as strong as the one that was about an hour north. Winds of 87 mph were clocked, trees down, buildings damaged, power outages. Lots of cleanup today, but haven't heard of any injuries thankfully.

Have a good day, everyone.

Jack Chao

@Mindy, thanks for the advise of being well hydrated is this kind of hot whether. Do you meant that the eagle have bigger fish to "Frey". I don't know if this is two timing or not, but I have checking on the other Osprey sites.

@Mavis, I thought I am the resident clown on this site.

@Judith, I second what JC had said.

@Beamg, thank you for your words, those are my same thoughts.

Exclusive Eagle Talk: WE ARE BEING UNDER ATTACK, THEY (WHOEVER THEY ARE) ARE SHOOTING MACHINE GUNS AT US, NOT SURE THE SAFETY OF THE EAGLES, BUT THE NEST IS EMPTY, EMPTY, EMPTY AND EMPTY (ACCORDING TO THE CAM).

Mavis

beamg, we still have a lot of standing water and closed roads. You have to know your way around to get from point A to point B. Over 90 sink holes have been reported. One huge sink hole in down town Live Oak..they had to move the courthouse records to a safe place as the sink hole may take out the courthouse, the multimillion dollar jail and about one city block of stores that were built in the late 1800s early 1900s. Hate to see the old history go. The rivers are out of the banks and is expected to get worse when it crests.

So glad you got your rain. I know it is not enough but every drop helps. The news said 2 million are without electricity this morning. With the heat index predicted for today..this is really bad. I hate it for the people affected.

We haven't heard from Sally G. in a while. She is up around Bay City, MI. I hope she is ok.

Lucille is in NJ, Debbie Attayek is in NC, not sure where the others in the East are.

Rod..are you ok? You gave us the first alert last night with the sirens.

Mavis

Cheryl, You are east of Moline, aren't you? 87 mph wind is hurricane force wind. I never realized you all get wind like that up there. I didn't know you got triple digit temps up there either. That wipes out the myth that it is cooler up North. I couldn't take it..really...I would have to put a bed in the back on one of our reefers and stay cool. I really feel for you guys. Wish I could help.

Mavis

Jack..your title is absolutely safe!! You are our resident clown...a good one, too!! I just try to fill in when you are not posting.

beamg, aren't you just a tad bit concerned that you and Jack share the same thoughts?!! You did say you make brownies from the same mix that Jack does, didn't you?

Ya'll are cracking me up!!

Cheryl

Mavis, Yes, I'm east of Moline. I'm about an hour southwest of Chicago. Suburbs that lie about halfway between me and Chicago are the ones that got hit the worst. We get strong winds on a fairly regular basis here. The 100+ temps are not as common, but there are many times in the summer when I look at the national weather map our temps here are higher than my niece's in Tampa. She tells me it's the humidity that makes it worse there, but I say 100% humidity is just that, no matter where it is.

Michael & Lucille Bingham

What's going on with oue sound & sight from the cam? When I tuned in I got this awful sound like a jack hammer. And of course, no eagles in the nest, but that isn't unusal these days!

Lucille Bingham

Having trouble posting this morning. Is anybody else having a problem or is it just me?

Cheryl

Lucille, the sound was affected last night during the storm there. The video was ok when I went to bed, but this morning the video is frozen. So it's not just you!

Mavis

Yeah..you are right, Cheryl..100% humidity is just that. I always thought FL had it worse because of the heat and all the water we have. Like I said, I have learned a lot from this site..and not just about eagles. The winds that high scare me because of trees.

I asked about you being east of Moline because Dublin, Oh got hit hard and that should be east of you...so I figured you were somewhere in the middle. Glad you are ok, Cheryl.

Mavis

No problems posting, Lucille. The cam is frozen and the sound is out. The storm last night had a huge effect on a lot of things. Glad to see you are ok in NJ.

Lucille Bingham

As I'm checking the posts now, I see many of our Eagle Watchers have had some serious weather conditions over the past few days. Hope everyone & their families are doing okay. Here in Jersey we have had some serious storms, but not like the terrible storms many of you have suffered through. Michael & I feel very fortunate because our immediate area has been spared this time. Thunder, lightening & rain, but not very strong winds or serious flooding. But the heat & humidity is just too much! Really hard to do serious outside work, but some chores are absolutely necessary. We have to grin & bear it, but are thankful that we are able to! Hope you all will be safe throughout these stressful weather conditions and we surely hope all who may be residents in the wildfire zones are safe & don't lose their homes. Gee, after watching Mother Nature at Her Best with our Live Video Cams, it's awfully hard to watch Her at Her Worst! Isn't it?
Be safe & have a Wonderful Fourth of July Holiday whenever you get to celebrate it!
Liberty/Justice/Faith/Hope and Spirit soar safely above us in all your majesty during Our Country's Celebration of Independence as a reminder of the wonderful freedoms we often take for granted!

Mavis

Lucille, you are beautiful with your words. Well said.

Lucille Bingham

Mavis, Thank you for the compliment. Back at you though. I have always said I find your words to be beautiful too! Always interesting whether they be in fun or seriousness. Love your stories and now your recipes that i will soon get to try! How is Artie treating you these days? I actually had a good night last night and was able to enjoy a conert by the Planetones & the Duprees. Even though the groups did not consist of all the original members it was wonderful! Brought back so many fond memories. Do you remember these groups?
Having trouble getting live video of the nest. Are you? When I click on the arrow in the center of the screen it goes black and the word connecting comes on, but it never connects. When I first tuned in I heard this awful sounfd like a jack hammer. Could something have happened to the camera. Sure hope not; it has become a lifeline for all of us! hasn't it?

Elizabeth Rieder

Good morning everyone, looks like the camera is down and the sound too. No sweat tho. we all can do thing that normal people do. Finish up those little projects that we started back on Feb.LOL
Read about all the rain and high winds you all got in the middle of the country, sorry to hear that and the heat being so high.
We have been bone dry and in the 100's so long it almost normal for us. Everyone that ventures outside is carrying a water bottle. We are use to trying to keep hydrated at all times and that goes for the kids that decide they want to play in the park. They all know to carry a water bottle with them. Our humidity is from 7 to 20% and with 100+ temps. we sure can dry out quick. I don't stick my head out except to do my weekly shopping and that is quick and into a AC store.LOL I may be old,but I am not stupid,it is really hot out there!!!

I am concerned about my son and daughter-in-law,but the last I talked to them, they were planning to go to ND to her folks farm. They live in CO,but closer into Denver than where the fires are. I hope they stay safe. Those fires can be frightening, I remember the wild fires last year we had here in Texas, they were close enough to Lubbock for us to see the smoke plumes and we even had some half bake person throw a cigarette out the window of his car in a neighborhood and caused a couple houses to burn. Another good reason to stop smoking.
Hope all are getting things straighten out, the eaglets are safe and sound and going about eagle business. guess it is time for us to go about human business too. Have a great weekend.

Mavis

Lucille, The camera is frozen...no live feed. The sound is broken as well and all you get is the rattling noise.

Sounds like you enjoyed a nice evening and I don't really remember those groups. I have to tell you up front..I can remember songs better than I can remember the people or groups that sang them. Just one of my bads. Glad you had a good time.

VroomGrrl

Absolutely fantastic photos, love the ones of the adult eagle in flight! And it's always great to see the bebes.

The cam seemed to go down during/after the storms last night, and it's just stuttering away. Did that "Derecho" come thru the Quad Cities last night? Well hang tough & we'll look forward to more #alcoaeaglecam when it's back on!

Margaret M. Callahan

Thank you SOOOOO much for the updates!!!

beamg

Mavis, I guess I don't understand what causes sink holes. I thought it was the water level dropping but apparently that doesn't tell the whole story. Sure hope those old buildings don't go, along with who knows what else. Just hope and pray people stay away from those areas unless they are required to be there to help out others. NO, I'm not concerned about Jack and I having the same thoughts: great minds think alike! I have even had any brownies today - yet.

I wish I could help the people who are without power today with temps soaring again. Hopefully there are places set up to deal with things like this so people can at least try to stay cool. I heard a report, too, about conserving water in those areas: no watering grass, don't wash clothes, don't wash dishes, don't flush the toilet after every use. Praying for safety and good health for all of you!

More posts to catch up on. Isn't it amazing what we have all learned about on this site? To those who think this should be EAGLE EXCLUSIVE: you are limiting your education when you should be trying to learn each and every day you are on this earth in this great country where we have the freedom to learn about what we want to learn.
On to more posts!

beamg

Lucille, AMEN to post #82!

beamg

Libby, good to hear from you! Can't imagine 100+ being like normal!!! Glad to hear your son and daughter-in-law are headed to ND. Should be cooler there, one would think. Too funny about finishing projects started in Feb! My gosh, we've really been here for months, haven't we? I have a couple of those projects myself. But, am I doing them? NO! Stay cool girl!

Mavis

Libby, I know you are concern about your son and family in Colorado. It is a horrible situation out there. I just heard that they now have it 30% contained which is slightly better than yesterday. Hopefully, they can finally get a handle on it. You stay in and stay cool. This heat will get a healthy youngster let alone us old ailing ones. Beamg has the water hose available and I found mine!!

beamg

VroomGrrl, had to look up "derecho", another learning moment for me. Yes, it did come through the QC!

Mavis

beamg, sinkholes are kind of confusing to understand. A lot of Suwannee County sits on top of underground springs and caverns that are normally full of water. When we have a drought, many of these underwater springs dry up..hence a cavity is left. When water stands..especially the volume we have had..the weight can cause the top crust to cave in..which is the sinkhole. We have had so many of our above ground lakes and springs (swimming holes) to dry up this year and the possibility of sinkholes increased.

You know I was just kidding about you and Jack. I KNOW you have great minds and great personalities! (Jack..you owe me a quarter for that one!).

Mavis

Hey beamg..AMEN to your Eagle Exclusive comment.

As far as we know...THE NEST IS STILL EMPTY. We may report more when the cam is restored! In the meantime...we are learning about each other!

beamg

Mavis, thanks for clearing up my confusion on sink holes. I had only part of the story and didn't think about the weight of the water collapsing the top crust. And, of course, I know you were kidding about me and Jack! That's the fun part about this site and the people who post here! I have had the best fun here for 5 months now! WOW! (Jack hid your quarter in the brownies!)

Nancy

Checking in on the eagles and I see that it "froze" last night. I hope someone will be able to check out the nest area and can confirm that all is well. I hope everyone - eagles and humans are fine.

Mavis

Beamg...If Jack hid the quarter in the brownies...I'll never see the quarter!!

Where is Greta today? And Sally G?

Elizabeth Rieder

beamg, Mavis, and any other crazy people like us we are trying to stay cool and conserve water. I pay extra for water in these apt. so I am really tuned in to conservation. Don't run water when you brush your teeth, Shower every other day, wash dishes in the sink instead of dishwasher(this one I have to renege on because I can't stand at the sink for long time) the old one "if it look like tea let it be, if it is dark brown flush it down." Since I am alone, that is easy for me to do, and keep a can of air "Febreeze" in the bathroom and I also don't run a washer of clothes until I have a full load. We have had to conserve water here in Texas in most places for the last 7-8 years. Watering lawns is a real tricky thing, only after dark, before light, and if they catch you letting a sprinkler system leak on to the road, fine baby, fine! That also goes for car washing with a hose running in your driveway and I don't mean that as a good thing,I am talking the kind that hits you in the pocket book. So many folks just waste water so easy, and we are not even touching the "fracking problem" here in the oil fields.
Most of Texan are scratching their heads, trying to conserve since we have had such dry weather here for the last few years.
We are in a cool spell now with temps in the upper 90's So guess we should be thankful for that,no rain tho.
Mavis is hogging all the rain over there in Florida. lol
This was a planned trip for the kids to ND,Inlaws have a large wheat farm and the girls love to go horse back riding there too. Their home is in Littleton so it is hopefully more in town in a older part of Denver. The houses are close together and lots of trees so there is the possible danger of fire there too. I am just thrilled they sold the home up in Evergreen and moved down the mountain to town. That place was in a forest on the side of a mountain at 8300 feet. If a fire started up there, everything would be gone.
With these fire breaking out in places we never realized, I hope everyone is mindful of the dangers of fire and what to do in case of one. Don't wait till the flame is 1/2 mile from your house to start planing. paper in a safe place, knowing how to pack quickly for evacuation,(this goes for flood and hurricanes too) We live our lives thinking that these thing happen to other people not to us. Don't get too comfortable, that is a bad thing to do. Remove your blinders and plan. I have been through a number of hurricanes and other disasters and believe me, that 30 or 40 minutes they give you to evacuate is never enough time to save your values and your life.

Cherrycarol

Thought I was seeing things at first with the dark screen. We had lots of lightning & thunder last night. Poor Mr John seems to be one thing after another!! Had a very busy week did one other girls customers too so I'm pooped!!
