John, I have really been looking forward to the t-shirts! I tried the link you have put on the site several times and have not been able to get it to open. Can you check this out for us? Thank you very much again for all you are doing.

Oct. 25 5:55 PM PDT.I saw L/J at 4 PM,They had some twigs & a little pecking, they were in & out a few times. The last time was around 4:25. The nest was really hopping around from the wind.As a result the camera was doing the same, but I didn't care, just as long as it was working, & we were able to see some action. At one time I could swear there were 3 large eagles, but I knew it was just from the camera(I hope),The best part was that Jo Ann is ordering some shirts & key rings for us.Thanks Alcoa for all.I hope you get good response to that also.Nitey nite all......Annette

Tammy

Both are on the nest at 7:00 CST. I haven't seen them together in so long, it feels like a family reunion. Of course Liberty is rearranging sticks.

Elizabeth Rieder

Check out the T-Shirts and Key Chains. It is great that the funds go to an educational Org. and River front. This whole thing started out as an educational thing with the camera.Over the years it will be nice to have somewhere to get a reminder that it is very important to care for and help the environment that we share with the eagles and others. While we adults find the viewing of the eagles nest entertaining, some where in a class room a teacher is using this to teach kids to respect our earth and how wonderful science and math are. Another lesson I hope they are using this for are faithfulness and doing a good job. Watching the care that a eagle puts into building a nest just so and caring for it young is a very valuable lesson in this day and time. Thanks again for the T-shirts I love the one with the three eaglets in the nest.

pchambers61604

Both eagles on nest this morning but the picture is so pixelated. Breaks apart into squares every time they move

Jackie S.

Eagle on large branch right in front of the camera at 9:10a EST.

Lucille Bingham

Seeing dark area in the nest again. Apparently these dark areas must be shadows, not some furry creature brought there for food. Haven't been able to catch a glimpse of "Our Eagles" this morning. Guess I was too late. Thanks for the recent reports Eagleholics. Have you all seen the T-shirts? Can't wait to order a few. Thank you Alcoa for making them available and for donating a nice portion of the funds to great causes! The eagle design with bits of aluminum is really quite interesting and a nice combination of Alcoa & Eagles!

Raptures are Awesome

Ordered my T-Shirt! Looking forward to a new year full of exciting eagle antics!

OT - Right now there is a month old baby Andean Condor (born in the Quito Ecuador zoo last month) on live cam at: http://www.amalavida.tv/ for those who might be interested. From the comments, the parents are very nuturing, covering the baby with their wings when its raining and cool outside.

KLD

Where is the link for T-Shirts?

Cherrycarol

Thanks for getting the t-shirts etc. It is great that some of the money is going for educational purposes. That is Great!! & for our Putman museum. I love that place. I will be ordering some things. Carol The web site is back a few spaces. Carol

Better hurry, as they are selling fast.

wanted to let everyone know that in Iowa, our local station KCCI, is going to have a special report on the decorah eagles on sunday. I have already read that they are building another nest, so may not be able to see them in 2013. thank you raptor is awesome for the posting of the condor site. awesome sight watching condors in action.

Lucille Bingham

Mr. John, Thank you for posting the info about the T-shirts, key chains & thermometers. As nice as the T-shirts are, I think some of us Eagleholics are disappointed that none of the choices have actual photo images of Majestic Eagles and/or Juvies. The great photo image of F/H/S on the key chain or the photo image of what appears to be Liberty & Justice on the thermometer would have been great images for one of the T-shirts. Sorry about posting this comment, but why didn't Alcoa have one or more T-shirts available with actual images of Our Eagle Family? Even though many of us will purchase the T-shirts available to support Alcoa's fundraiser for good causes, I think some of us would have loved more choices, especially with actual images of F/H/S or L/J. We do appreciate all that Alcoa & you do for "Our Eagles" & us. A great big thank you to all responsible for this site. You still are the BEST and provide us with the BEST LIVE CAM SITE!

WW

Mr. John and Lucille....

I have to agree about the graphics on the T-shirts.I, and probably many others, was really expecting a true to life image of one, both or all of the Alcoa Eagles; or at the least a true representation of an actual Eagle.Even if they cost a little more,I think more would be purchased.Ater all,we have been watching "real" Bald Eagles for the past few months and hoped that's what we would see on the T-shirts.

I realize that you can't satisfy everyone all the time and we appreciate all the efforts you and Alcoa put forth just to keep the Alcoa Eagle fans happy.

I did find the "aluminum" eagle to be unique and representative of Alcoa and will order one of those as a keepsake.

I mean no disrespect with this comment--my intention is meant as constructive criticism.

Thank you again Alcoa and Mr. John for allowing us the opportunity to witness the lives of the Alcoa American Bald Eagles.

Annette Kryske

Oct. 27 10:30 PDT. All is quiet in the nest so far this morning. Haven't seen L/J yet. The picture looks better, & so does the sound. I did hear train whistles also. Keep up the good work.
As far as the shirts go, I agree somewhat with Lucille, but,it seems people are buying what is available at this time. One can't expect them to discard all the ones that were already made. Maybe in the future they can come up with pictures of our little family. Annette Kryske

Annette Kryske

Oct.27 11:15 PDT. Yikes!, I spoke too soon! The picture is fine, but the static is back . Sorry about that folks!!Have a great day anyhow. Will sign off until 4:00 PM PDT, as that is when L/J usually show up.

Oct. 27 4:30 PDT. At 3:55 Liberty was in the nest, for while. Jo Ann & I were on the phone & watching the proceedings. It looked like she brought in something & afterwards it looked like she might have buried it.She flew out .At 4:30 I think L/orJ/ has been struggling with a large limb.I felt so frustrated because I could not help them in any way. Oh well, it's getting to be nitey nite time for them, & almost dinner time here.
Annette Kryske

John Riches

Annette and others. We do appreciate all of your feedback on the Alcoa EagleCam merchandise. We have no idea what kind of interest there will be in these items, so we decided to start with just a few things, get feedback and we will see what we can do to add or chage items as we move into 2013. We do not have a lot of high-resolution (for printing) images of the eaglets. We will see what we can do about that next year. In the meantime, feel free to continue making suggestions as they are welcome.

Nancy

In reading comments in the past, I see there are two Nancys, I am the Nancy from Florida and like many of you we are aged and/or in poor health. I just want to thank Mr. John and Alcoa for not only the wonderful lessons in nature that we are able to learn from this site but also the therapetic environment we receive in watching this family of eagles. Liberty was again in the nest this morning and I was able to rest while watching her diligently working on their nest. Thank you again for all your efforts.

kc

John, with the Decorah site a POSSIBLE "no go" this year, (video of the P's taking sticks from the old nest to the new) the Alcoa Eaglecam is likely to have even more traffic.... thanks for keeping an open mind on all the merchandise feedback.... I personally like what you put out there, hope it sells, and much can be raised for charity.. kc

Cherrycarol

I'm glad u appreciate our input. Just real pictures of Liberty or Justice would be nice. Or any adult eagle will do too. Names Alcoa Eagles. There r a lot of photos on u tube. Also a lot of us have some good pictures. Seems they could be used. I'll order a couple things. Thanks Mr John Carol

Jo Ann

Thank you John for all you for us and for the eagles. I really look forward to checking in everyday to see if the eagles have checked in. I put my order in and can't wait to get the items. Hope 2013 is as exciting as 2012 was. Have a great Sunday evening everyone.

ewatchergirl

John, I'm sure you're aware that you will probably need more bandwidth as well as more powerful switches and servers with more capacity in order to stop the pixelating on the cam. This means that you're having a LOT more visitors at the same time to your cam this year! That's great news! I know I, for one, can't get enough of watching these parents and their offspring. Thank you for all you do!

Annette

oCT. 28 4:15PDT Is when Justice showed up for a bit & then took off. After a while, Liberty came in , & then they did a little work with the same twigs. For some reason they can't get it the way they both wanted it, so I believe Justice just took off.It really is fun to watch. The camera is a little pixelated as Ewatchergirl says.I am sure in due time all this will be taken care of. You know John,we all appreciate you & Alcoa for everything you've done.Nitey nite!

Just checked on nest thinking there might be snow! Many of the viewers live in the path of Hurricane Sandy. You are on my mind and in my prayers. I hope all stay safe with minimal property damage due to this storm. Hubby took generator to PA to stage for possible outages. He said he passed convoys of power company equipment from many states on the way to storm areas to be available in case of problems. It is hard to believe this storm has a path 800+ miles wide so prayers are hugging all of you in the storm area.

Jo Ann

Prayers go out to all. These prayers include people, property and all of God's little creatures in harms way. Take care out there.

Jo Ann

That darn stick. I think it is Liberty in the nest: 7:10 California time. She is having a time with those sticks.

Jo Ann

Thanks to Alcoa we get a chance to be this close to an eagle. I feel like I can reach out and touch him, or her. Wow! That is all I can say.

Annette

Oct. 29 7:55 AM We just hope and pray that this storm passes quickly for those in its path. Our prayers are with you all.
Liberty or Justice has been "sun bathing" on the perch for the longest time. Seems unusual!!It could be waiting for food, or protecting the nest. I heard many trains this AM. Take care you friends from the east coast.

gregory

i am sorry, i had to skip a few days of posting.

ive watched all along and read the post's

i, quite inadverdantly, offended someone by refering to another as a matriarche. i do apologize again.

i had learned that a matriarche was a wise and experienced female animal, looked up to, and followed.

i am sorry, and i hope i did not say, THE MATRIARCHE, as i can easily see the offense in that rhetoric. kindness to all.

Jenny

I can't see the links :( Can you email them to me? jkemp@umr.com

Jenny

Sorry ... found the links ABOVE the blog. Thanks!

gregory

i am interested in the dalcorah eagles. iam afraid the post about them building a new nest. i hope this is their ambitionit for the next season. so far ---ive only seen them carry off the crappy corn stalks.

i would hope it a first measure. their nest looks strong. i dont doubt the new nest, but i hope it is a spare, and or, the new nest for late 2013. they still eat there.

gregory

sorry guys, but i do know something about nature.

i have a suspicion that those grass reeds(corn stalks)were put there to dsturb the actractive attributes of the Decorah nest.
it was very messy. this could be nature saying --STAY AWAY.

a corn stalk is actually grass--it will retain water and would only be benificial tor into shred. otherwise it would rot very fast.

as for the storm-- i love all nature and have appreciated violent storms since my mother taught me how.

in nature there is death and our eagles are no different-- they kill to live.

gregory

i know that lives have already been surrendered.

i am able to empathize, grieve, and pray for those who have perished.

BUT- I also know, that without these storms, life cannot exist.

gregory

MAVIS--

i am sorry i am empowered at the moment.

that decorah nest has been a mess for two weeks!

now it has been observed as twigs being carried off.

i think it is being cared for.

i have learned it is now a little late for this years nest, and that the couple may be working on 2013. THAT IT IS IN PREPARATION.

Mavis

greg, I think everyone wants the Decorah nest to stay useful. It has been a joy to watch but many think that they will not use it this year. I hope a new pair of eagles will adopt it as their new home but I'm not sure the present owners will sub-let it to new eagles! Liberty and Justice are doing a splendid job restoring their nest and good to know they will stay put for this season.

Mavis

gregory, I haven't been watching the Decorah nest, just reading the comments. It would make a lot of people happy if you are right and the nest may yet host another family. We sure hope to be here for the 2013-14 season too!!

Annette Kryske

Oct.29.3:45 PDT One of our little friends dropped by for a quick look around, then took off. This is a little earlier than they usually come by which is between 4 & 4;30 pm each afternoon.
I enjoy reading your little tidbits with Mavis, Gregory. You both seem to know your homework about eagles. This summer was the 1st for me in all my 84 years, & believe me I love reading & watching their progress.Time to get ready for our friends arrival.
Annette Kryske

Cherrycarol

I agree with u Mavis. Prayers to everyone & all Gods creatures in the storms path. This morning it was really chilly so that is probably why the were sitting in the sun. It is still very hot. Those sticks I just want to help her so badly. lol

Mavis

9:02 EDT

Been glued to the news..cannot believe what I am seeing with this storm. I have never seen anything like this and I live in FL ! I hope everyone stays safe. Already a couple of deaths reported. I feel so bad for everyone affected. Oma lives in NJ. Judith, in NC says she is getting some terrific wind/rain. Rjim will be affected. Lucille lives in NJ too. Tammy is in KY..and friends as far away as OH will be affected too. I don't know where everyone lives, but check in when you can. Praying for all of you.

kc

am in AZ, so no worries here.. my kids and grandson have checked in from Va and friends in PA have checked in....so far so good.... caught L or J on the nest at 5:25 AZ time, it was clear as a bell, not a pixal to be seen :) kc

Mavis

8:36 EDT 10/30

Both L and J on nest...looks breezy. Picture clear as kc said. Good morning everyone!

Carolyn

Wonderful day! Camera operating beautifully, no more pixels when movement occurs, eagles on the nest a lot this morning. What more can we ask? (Maybe some eggs, Lol!)Thank you Alcoa!

Nasgab

The current Eagles at Decorah wouldn't allow another pair to take over their old nest. It's still in their territory and their territory is their source for food.

gregory

is it just me, or is the nest beginning to look very neat and cozy? the walls are neater and in better order and the lining seems a good bit more plush.

Cherrycarol

It looks like she has put a bowl in already. WOW This is really early!!

Mavis

I agree with you both...the nest has really taken shape in the past day or two. They still have those two big "logs" to place. I saw her siting in it for the longest time just a day or two ago as if she was "feeling" it out..making sure it fit just right! They still have some work to do on the west wall (at 10 o'oclock), or I will be having a lot of OMG moments. I would love to put a roof over it to protect from the hail!

Mavis

Sitting...not siting..geeze! (post 48)

Cindy

Mavis, I too am glued to the news. Family has checked in, but I am still concerned about many in New York area. Wonderful to have the camera operating with sound. And will buy a t-shirt and key ring to commemorate last year. Is anyone else counting birds for Project FeederWatch for Cornell Lab? Let me know if you are....

gregory

5:50 est he has the top half of a rabbit. took a few bites and then flew off with the remains.

Annette Kryske

Oct.30 3:00 pm PDT
Liberty & Justice flew in with a small creature.Just worked on it a bit, L/J? flew away, & after a bit. L or J left with the creature. The nest looks like it is ready for the summer arrivals. Can't wait.
Annette Kryske

Cherrycarol

I ordered a couple t-shirts by phone. & the guy is getting bomb bardded by oreders. He said I never thought I'd get this many orders. That is great!! I told him Alcoa has a lot of followers!! Carol

Carolyn

I just uploaded a video of Liberty this morning. I think you might get a chuckle out of this one! Lovely to see the eagles so many times today.

gregory

8:25 am est

davenport at 28 degrees, feels like 20

they are in the nest and fluffing up the lining.

Carolyn

Here's the link to yesterday's video that i tried to include in my post last night. Apparently, I'm not going to be able to use typepad for posting links to videos. Sorry it disappeared.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogNf7_k8T7I&feature=plcp

gregory

11:45 am est

whats up with the big hole in the lining?

if it is not a shadow, then it is certainly a clever way to shift the comfy grass and moss in order to asay the building material still needed.

did anyone see this?

gregory

MAVIS-

what time zone are you? i would like to set a clock. i love clocks and have many but i keep all to to chime at once. i want to take a few and set for different zones. i am finding myself way to concerned about our nest.

post your diferent zones and ill mark my clocks.

gregory

12:25am 10-31 EST

tonights low is between 28 degrees and 31degrees.

at this time, it is only 34 degrees in davenport iowa and feels to a human as 24 degrees.

i suspect tonights wind chill to be in the low 20's or the mid 20's. lets hope against the teens.

i go all over the internet with different things, and would love to know how to split screen.

Mavis

2:55 EDT

Greg...the hole you are seeing is a shadow.,IMO.
I'm EDT. I hear the wind but the nest stays pretty still so it must not be as rough as it sounds.

Carolyn, thank you for your many videos. Do you have to have a program to make the videos? We've talked about it several times last season but none of us know how to make them. Yours are great!

Mavis

Greg...instructions for split screen are on post #47 under the NO AUDIO thread dated April 25th 2012. If you look in the upper right of this page and click on April 2012, you can go to that thread then go to that post number. It is really easy and the only way to watch and post and the same time. There may be other ways to split screen but this is the only way I know how to do it. If you have a problem...just give a shout out.

jimbob

Mavis===thank you for the splitscreen info.i know it will help a lot of us:)

Carolyn

Mavis, You are very welcome for the videos & thank you for the compliment. I love doing them and it gives me a recorded archive of all the activity in the nest each season.
The best advice I can give you about doing your own videos is to experiment with various Streaming video capture programs, that's what I had to do. You have to know the capability of your computer first, then search for a program that fits. I started with Capture Wiz Pro. It's fairly easy but limiting as to what you can do, it doesn't give you much editing capability. You should try, it is a lot of fun!

Annette Kryske

Oct.31 1:45 PM PDT. Thanks Caroline for the videos of L/J. I loved the one of the cat opening the door for the doggies to enter the house. Your videos are all fun to view, especially the eagles. I can't figure out what is in the nest either. It could be the remnants of some creature, or just a shadow from above. The nest does look neater, but the wind is shaking things up a bit.In about an hour we should have some action in the nest. Until then thanks Alcoa & All.
Annette Kryske...from California.

Jo Ann

I think there a few dead animals, birds, various things where the dark spot is. Can anyone else make it out? Thank you Carolyn for all of your videos. They are great!!!

Annette Kryske

Oct. 31, 3:45 PDT L/J flew in did a little digging in the nest. Very windy.Br...I'm cold already( even though my house temp. is 70)out side is around 75. Jo Ann thinks there are remnants of something in the nest. I think they are just trying to make the nest softer.Time to do my final check before dinner.Nitey Nite Thanks to Alcoa all.
Annette Kryske

Mavis

8:58 EDT

Carolyn, I had a feeling videos required a special program. Not like a screen capture like we all hoped. I stay in too much trouble with my computer to venture that far...but I admire those than can. I feel sure we will all want an edited video from egg to branching for the upcoming season. I think it is safe to say we will all be looking at you! Thanks for all the treats you have given us so far.

Jimbob...you will love the split screen and there may be an easier way to do it..but I don't know how.

Carolyn

Good Morning everyone, beautiful day at the nest Liberty & Justice in very early. Here's the link to video of morning visit. Take off by Justice is the highlight of this one.

Carolyn

I really must learn how to use typepad, my links continue to disappear.
Here it is again .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdiptT7b0KI&feature=plcp

Tammy

Hey everyone, Tammy here (Ky). We didn't have any weather from Sandy here, just turned colder and windy but warming back up by the weekend.

Carol, funny about the guy taking orders being bombarded. That IS EXACTLY what we wanted isn't it?!

Just had a chance to look in and sorry to say, no L&J but that is a mighty fine and pretty nest they got there.

Mavis I agree, build up the sides so that we don't have heart attacks when the babies venture to close. Man I hated those times.

Annette Kryske

Nov. 2 12:15 PM PDT. The nest looks soft enough, hopefully L/J will get the sides a little higher. Though they had no problems last summer with Faith,Hope & Spirit.
Gregory, How does one do the spit screen, so they can post & view the nest at the same time?
I followed your directions as to do the #comments, & it works great. Thanks for you help. Will check on the nest & hope to see L &J around 4 pm Ca. time
Annette Kryske

gregory

ANNETTE=

that was actually MAVIS who posted that info on both counts. she responds fast and others do to. i think they break their necks trying to see who can be the first to be helpfull. i love it.

as for the split screen-- she posted that on page 63 of this thread. i havent tried it yet so i will go back later and give it a go. please let me know if you have some success.

i think you have thought it to be me because she always bold prints my name at the beginning to get my attention as i have done up top for you. to see who actuall posted a note, just look under the post and in orange letters are the pen name along with the date. dont forget to let me know how you fair.

Mavis

4:44 EDT..

Hey Tammy, good to hear you made it through Sandy without a problem. Have not heard from Lucille and hope she is okay. I don't know what part of NJ is lives in but they sure got it hard. Heart goes out to the many, many people that are suffering in the aftermath. Wish I could wave a magic wand, but hey..we are Americans...can't get much better in my opinion! We can help each other through most anything.

I missed L and J this morning. Hope to see them this evening.

Annette Kryske

Mavis, I checked back in Apr.2012 on #47 to find your post on being able to view the nest & post at the same time & it wasn't there.I thought Greg knew but he said it was your post.I checked way back in April & back to 63 this month, but "Nothing" showed up. Do you think you can send me the info again? I am pretty good with following directions.I would appreciate it. I hate to miss anything when I am looking at the nest if I am busy posting,thanks.....
Annette Kryske

Mavis

Sure Annette...let me see if I can find it.

Mavis

SPLIT SCREEN

Annette..only have ONE browser of Alcoa open. If you have 2 open..close one.

The little square button between the minimizer and the "x" button at the top right..press the square button.

Now..hover your cursor over the edge of the page and reduce the sides to whatever you want.

Drag your newly reduced page to where you want on your monitor.

NOW...open another browser (I use foxfire for both but it doesn't matter) and go to the alcoa site.

Do the same thing to the new alcoa site that you did with browser #1. Reduce the page and move it to where you want.

Play with it a while to get what you want.

If you want full page..click the little square button again and your page will go to full screen. Click it again and it will go back to where you had it.

One more note: the cam...when you hit full screen on it..it will go full screen. When you hit escape button..it will go back to where you had it. I do that when I see something on the little screen that I want to see full screen.

I hope I did this right. Good luck and enjoy!

Nov 1 3:30 PDT..At 2:50 L/J showed up in the nest. The wind was really howling, & their feathers were blowing. After a bit one flew away.L?J? was working on the nest a bit, but didn't seem to get anywhere, then he/she flew away.I wonder if the one in the nest with all the swaying she was doing in the wind, was Liberty. If I were pregnant, I 'd be pretty uncomfortable.Hee hee. Goodnight to all.Th camera was wonderful, the sound was scary Annete Kryske

SPLIT SCREEN... May 2012 archives..thread: Hot Holiday Weekend...Post #144

Annette...I wrote these instructions which may be a bit more detailed:

Now..take this screen you are reading now..hit that upper middle (square) button between the x and the -. NOW..put your cursor on the side of the page until you see the double arrow..now left click and hold down while you "pull" the side in to take up about 1/2 the page..(you can do this to each side if you need to). Now put your cursor at the top and holding down the on left click..move the page to where you want it. I keep my comments page on the right of my monitor..just my preference.

NOW>>open up another browser..I use firefox..use whatever you normally use. Now, google Alcoa eagle cam and go to the video page. Now..here I increase my video screen to 200%. I end up with about a 4X6" screen.

NOW click on that same button between the X and the -. Now..put your cursor at the top of the video page and holding down the left click..drag your video page to the left side of your computer and drag it right off the monitor until just the video window is left on the monitor. NOW you have 2 screens showing on your monitor.

To see the full page..just click on the square box between the X and the - and it will go to full screen. To go back..just click that box again and it goes back to your reduced screen. Remember..the video screen page is already at full screen..we just slid it half off the monitor.

ALSO..I increase my video screen to 200%..that way almost the whole left half of my monitor is nothing but video. The right half is my comment screen.

If you click below the video screen to go full screen..it will take up the whole monitor as before..just hit escape and it goes back to where it was.

See..YOU DID IT!!

MAVIS-

i had not utilized your advice on split screen when ANNETTE posted to me, so- i refered her to the post where you answered or someone did. she tried and could not figure it out so i tried and i was also confused.

i think you are correct. and we are missing something

also --

both birds in nest at 8:10 this morn for 3 or4 mins then left--

watched vigilant al day snd never saw a hint or heard a cry. did anyone see any thing? there were numerous sparrows rummaging through here and thaer but nothing.

then around 6 o'clock the pair showed. then my damnd www went gone.

Mavis

SPLIT SCREEN:

Gregory...I assume you are reading this and this is the only browser you have open. Good..go to the square button between the minimizer and the X and click the square button.

Now...move and hover your cursor on the left or right edge of the page until you see the ↔ and bring "in" the sides of your page until it takes up about 1/2 of the screen.

IF YOU PUT YOUR CURSOR at the top of the page..I usually put it anywhere in a "free Space" area above the URL bar..if you put your cursor there and hold down the right click on the browser...you can position the page where you want it...I put my comments page on the right side of the screen as it is MY preference.

NOW...forget about the page you just reduced and open another browser and go the the alcoa site. Repeat the above step but after you reduce the second page...move the page to the left of the first reduced page. Now you have 2 reduced pages on your screen. You can work with the sides to get the width of each page where you want it. My comment page is slightly narrower than my cam page.

I ALSO ENLARGE my video screen to 200% and it takes up most of the left hand side of my screen.

Note: you have a left/right scroll bar at the bottom of the page..you may have to use it to set the cam..just play around with it and you will be a pro in no time. You sure want to master this before the eggs are laid.

To bring it back full screen...hit the square button between the minimizer and the X !

Wish someone could give you better instructions!
I'm just not that good at it.

Mavis

Annette..I found this on YouTube and it taught me some neat tricks and maybe better explains a different way to do a split screen..good luck!

No one in the nest this morning, it's dark there still. I sure dread this time change coming this weekend, it will be dark at 5:00 p.m. and my body thinks it's bed time when it's dark outside. Not to mention that it means that winter is on the way and I don't like cold weather at all. Morning all!

gregory

Ok

i have some disturbing news for everyone!!

MAVIS- you say you are ETD on time!

others say -ETD or CTD or even PTD.

since there are so many time zones, i actually tried to find them!!

they do not exist--sorry.

i tried to find these areas

OK EVERYONE--here we go--

look at your TIME ZONE

EST- the eastern time zone

CST- the central time zone- i think this is our birds time

PST- sorry, but you have to wake early.

i get confused with- ETD-CTD- and PTD or even etd

so your ALL going to hate me but i did try to find these time zones an AND I HAVE ALSO MISSED ONE.

Nov. 2 2:40 PDT MAVIS Thanks for the info on the split screen. It worked. I looked at the video also, just out of curiosity, & I like you info better. This really makes a difference when you can look at our little friends at the same time you are commenting. Now for today's siting. At 1:50 pm L/J? was sitting on the big perch staring right at me.It lookd like she could see me. After about 1/2 hr. later its mate showed up, but was blocked by its mate on the perch. I believe it was working on the nest. This is a long time for the perch sitter to be there.
They both are gone now. Just letting you all know they are active & well. Thankks again Alcoa & John & Mavis for making things work & easier.

Daylifght saving times ends tomorrow so we'll be on Central standard time & that is L& J time zone & mine too. I live near the nest. So this should make it easier for u Greg.

kc

Uhmmm.... Gregory, you forgot MST, (Mountain Standard Time) and of course for those of us in AZ..... we dont do anything at all :) half the time we're in the Pacific time zone and the other half in the Mountain time zone.....good luck with that :)

jimbob

gregory____i set my clocks by the GMT time zone just for your information and consideration.

Mavis

10:55 PM EDT

Annette, you are so welcome!! I feel like I confuse everyone sometimes so it is nice to hear that it works. I hope you enlarged your video to 200%..makes for a much nicer view of things.

Lucille lives in NJ and I don't remember her posting since the storm. I sure hope she is ok.

I saw both L and J on the nest today. I think they are quite proud of their remodeled home!

Gregory..EDT is Eastern Daylight Time which changes this week to EST. If you live in Atlanta, then you are also on EDT.

Good night all!

Mavis

kc...it does get confusing..Hoover Dam is a good example!

Mavis

jimbob..EST would be GMT -5...

Raptures are Awesome

Mavis - Your instructions for split screen are terrific. They worked great on my computer. Thank you.

All - It's 6:55 AM CST and either Liberty or Justice (not sure which one) is hunkered down in the middle of the nest just looking around. Also hear a bird chirping the background. It's a great morning.

Have been peridically checking in on the website. It's so good to see them back at the nest!

Cherrycarol

Both were in the nest. One brought in a big stick. One still there. Tomorrow the time will be different so it will be 7 central time when they show up AM & 5 Pm in the evening. Don't forget to set your clocks back. Carol

gregory

OK-- so i goofed, but i swear i looked for edt and only found estimated time of departure. sooo-- i feel pretty silly.

i will be more careful

Nov.3 8:30 PDT,Loved reading all your comments this morning. I clicked on to see if my friends were around at 6:25 AM ,& there was L or J staring right at me. I loved it!!! My husband thought I was nuts getting up so early to check on them. All is beautiful & well at Alcoa Cam. It was pretty dark here in LA at that time. Tomorrow it will be lighter when we wake up. At our ages we are grateful to be healthy & look forward to our activities of the day.
