Nov. 16 2:47 PM PST.Just checking on the Cam & it wasn't working. I said to my self as the expression goes. "A day with out Liberty & Justice , is like a day without sunshine". Like someone heard me,as the camera is going on & off, hopefully it will stay on.No sign of L/J yet. This is the usual time they show up.I hear a little buzzing from the audio. Not too much movement, just picture. Be patient folks it will be taken care of I am sure.
Annette Kryske

gregory

well--
the shadow has changed. i think we have a real feed.

CaJ

Thank you for the power line information.
I hope you noticed I did post that those pics where taken from across the river, full zoom so the lines do appear closer than actually are.

Sorry If that concerned others... was not my intention.

gregory

i believe i found the area where the nest is thanks to everyone. i actually needed all of the info from everyone and i couldn"t have just found it it WITH one or two.

joefromnc

Gregory...your post regarding the wires and eagle eyesight is not completely accurate.Even though eagles have exceptional eyesight, they and other birds do fly into wires unintentionally--perhaps when they are concentrating on catching a prey or focusing in the distance to navigate.
It does seem like the wires and towers in the vicinity of the nest are far enough away so they would not be hazardous to the eagles.

Carolyn

Thanks for the update on the camera, We will just have to be patient though it is difficult. Don't worry, Alcoa is not alone with cam problems. Apparently camera troubles are rampant across the streaming video world. Fingers are crossed that things will get better.

gregory

JOE--

is this prevelent? I would think that birds become aware of their ambient surroundings. on the other hand, i bump into things i am familiar with all the time, especially when i am focused. i think my point is that the power lines are clearly visible to almost every bird of prey. their eyesight may well be amongst the best in the world

Sue

Hi all. I'm one of thoses "lurkers" :) I became obsessed with the eagle babies last year with an introduction to the Alcoa site and then found the Decorah site. I really enjoyed the UStream immediate chat as we watched branching (and camming) by the babies. From what I can understand, the Decorah eagles are nesting at another site this year. Decorah also updated the camera and UStream beyond my current computer capabilities. I was glued to my computer every weekend when they were branching. I am so sad that I won't be able to participate in that community. This site sounds like a small, tight knit community. May I join you all? I am in Wyoming. I have the pleasure of watching an occasional eagle leave the river about 3 miles from my office to hunt. I had one fly less than 50ft from our office deck hunting rabbits. Quite sucessfully, btw. They amaze me. A day catching a glimse of L or J is a good day. Thank you.

gregory

well--
it is obvious we have a still since it is night. JOHN fixed the last glitch on a saturday even though he said it might be fixed on monday. so we will see. i'll bet this man man gets no rest because of us.

I LOVE MR.JOHN

Cherrycarol

Sue We will be glad to have u in our group. Always great to hear new comments. I worked all day so I guess I didn't miss anything. I live by the nest so I get to see them quite often. It has been a bad season for the cams this year. Has to be frustrating. But I know it will get fixed. Carol

Cherrycarol

caj Glad to see u back

gregory

SUE--

are you kidding? you are most welcome as far as i'm concerned!

i think there should be a way to gauge a birds transfer and even prepare a new nest to find and enhance when it is obviouse a change is in order.

you will love this site

perhaps even more than dalcoah

CaJ

Thank you... I've been keeping a close watch. :-)

Darlene Nichols

Sue........glad to have you join us!

Mavisgriff

Mr. John, you are always on top of everything when it comes to the eagles and their safety. I saw the electrical lines in one of your earlier pictures and was happy you addressed it with the power company. I read where avian protection was installed after the death of one of this year's eaglets at Decorah. I was curious then, as I am now, as to how they do that. If you get a chance the next time you are at the nest, would you take a picture of what they did. I don't think I have ever seen that and not sure how the power companies do what they do to protect the eagles. I'm just curious as to what it looks like.

I'm glad you told us that you addressed the power lines. That worry tugged at me, but did not want to mention it. Like I said, you are always so on top of everything in regards to the eagles. Now...to find a way to keep them from being hit by hail this year!! Rodj refused to shimmy up there with an umbrella during the last bad hail storm!

With the world like it is with Israel, the economy, Hurricane Sandy...it seems silly to be so attached to a pair of 'birds'..but oh my...they are special, aren't they? They give us a sense of calm and order when we need it. A moment of relief from all our problems. You, Mr. John, and all of Alcoa, do so much to make this possible for us. I can't think of words good enough, Sir...only THANK YOU!

Jo Ann

Thank you Mavis for saying what we all feel about our beautiful eagles. It truly is a calming and sometimes exciting escape from the world and its problems. It is a part of nature that I can't really get to see since I live in a big city. Thank you to Alcoa for the recent info. and for always looking out for our eagles.

Annette Kryske

Nov. 17 2:25PM PST....I did see some little birds earlier, but haven't see Liberty or Justice yet. They usually come around at this time. While I am waiting, I too, want to thank Alcoa & Mr. John for all the support we are getting from them. Mavis & JoAnn,I was touched by both your comments.I was hoping the shirts JoAnn & I ordered would be delivered by today, as it is JoAnn's birthday.Happy Birthday JoAnn.

Annette Kryske

Annette Kryske

Nov. 17 3PM PST. I just checked in to see if all was ok & guess who was in the nest? My day is complete. Liberty & Justice stopped by for a quick check, then flew off.I wish they had stayed a little longer. The cam is working just fine. Hopefully the sound will be back . Nitey nite little ones.

Annette Kryske

Cindy

Mavis, You are always "ON IT" when you write. I tend not to post here but am glad that the electric company is doing this "inspection". Losing D12 was enough for me to want every electric company to at least check an area for electrocution dangers.

I am so ready to spend hours watching. It's time for babies !

Cherrycarol

I agree with Mavis & Jo Ann also. I'm going thru a stressful time now & seeings the eagles just has a way of calming u down. Thanks Mr John. & Alcoa. I'm still waiting for my t-shirts too. Carol

Cherrycarol

Thanks CaJ for your photos

gregory

GROUP--

even though i keep my laptop focused on the nest, i get lost in other things and im afraid i mis interesting visits. is there a way for me to fix my computer to re-up my feed when it times out? i usually mis only a minute or two, but i worry iv'e missed something. i don't like the alternative involving interuption and commercials. MAVIS ?

Mavis

Cindy, you and Sue need to post here OFTEN. The more that posts...the better. I'm ready for the babies too. It is kind of nice that they wait until after the holidays...that way we can just sit back and enjoy them without the hurry of the holidays!

Mavis

Gregory...sorry...you have to do it the way we all do. Alcoa spends a fortune on broadband time and to waste it while we are not watching is just that...a waste. SO..just refresh and be happy!

gregory

MAVIS--

i understand.

beamg

Good morning all. Just tuned in at 7:25 CST and saw a robin fly into the nest! No eagles yet this AM.

Cherrycarol

Good Morning everyone. No eagles last night either but I see something green in the nest.Must have been there sometime. Have a good day. Errands today. Carol

Kathryn Mellecker

Just saw a visit to the nest. After she left, the nest is colorful, with lite tan and green grasses added. Very festive.

and just a comment, the eagles have been nesting and then laying their eggs at mid-winter to thousands of years. The fact that we celebrate some holidays at or near this time is just a happy coincidence. Happy for us, the eagles just go on doing as they have done for so many thousands of years. I, for one, and very happy to be able to share the eagles yearly progress. Thanks Alcoa!

Mavis

9:48 EST NOV 19th

Just checked on the nest...it is empty. With the leaves gone, sometimes it is hard to tell if the cam is working or if it is a still shot. I finally saw a chad like piece of a leaf swaying in the breeze! Sometimes I think to myself, "Mavis..surely you have something better to do than sit here and watching for something to move on an empty nest"...answer..nothing that I would RATHER do or I wouldn't be doing it!! Now..off to fight the crowds at the grocery store...yep...I'd rather be sitting here watching an empty nest!!!

Lucille Bingham

Just got back to my regular computer. Something has been going on with it since the original loss of service. I get service for some time, then no internet service for a while. It seems to be interrupting my desk computer more than my Ipad so I haven't been tuning in on Our Nest. I really miss it, but thanks to all of you, I feel like I'm catching up with Life at the Nest! Thank you CaJ for the still shots of Liberty & Justice in the nest. It was great to be able to see them since I didn't capture them live today! Hope all you Eagleholics are fine and enjoying prep for the holidays! Later today I'm going to check out FB and Nester's Nest! I'm with you, Mavis, I'd much rather be Eagle Watching than shopping today!

Jo Ann

I agree with you Mavis and Lucille. I have to go to the grocery store, too, but I would much rather check in with Liberty, Justice and eagle friends. I guess I missed them this morning. I missed the robin, too. Let me ask a dumb question; do robins go south for the winter? I thought they did. Maybe, not. Enjoy your day, fellow eagle watchers.

beamg

Jo Ann, not a dumb question! I always thought all robins go south for the winter but I have had friends around here tell me they occasionally see robins in the winter. I have not personally seen them in the winter so today was a total shock to me. I had to go full screen to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me and then I didn't even think to get a screen shot. Sometimes the brain is too shocked to think straight, I guess. The robin even hopped up on the Y branch which would have been an awesome screen shot! If there is another chance for that, I'll try to think quicker.

I have to agree that I too would rather be watching this nest, empty or not, than almost anything else! Happy viewing everyone.

Jo Ann

I wish I could have seen the robin. They are so beautiful. I have always loved them. I grew up in Iowa, and still remember the feeling of happiness when I spotted my first robin in the Spring. I knew then that winter was almost over. Have a great Monday everyone.

Jo Ann

Beautiful Liberty in the nest. It is 10:10 AM CA.time.I still haven't gotten to the store.

Judith Hart

Did you see that Jo Ann......Wow! I didn't know the new camera zoomed.

Jo Ann

Judith, I didn't either. I thought maybe Alcoa was experimenting with zooming in. I can say I have never seen that before. I wish I had my camera nearby, so I could have taken a picture. That was awesome. She is so beautiful.

Annette Kryske

Not only did Leon(my hubby),and I do our marketing by 10:am, we just got back from a walk to New England. Most of you know we are living here in Ca.,but there is an area about four blocks north of where we live, that has the Liquid Umbar also called Sweet Gum trees on the parkway for three long blocks,& the leaves are gorgeous, with all shades of red and orange. We remembered New England looked like that in the fall. Fortunately we don't have to put up with frost & cold weather back there. We've lived in Ca. since 1950. Am ready for our California family for din din on Thursday. Now it's time to check on our little friends , L&J
Annette Kryske

Jo Ann

Justice almost landed on Liberty's head. She ducked, though. This is great.

Cherrycarol

Liberty was in the nest a long time. Sitting on the bowl for a half an hour. She's practicing laying on those eggs!! Carol Justice was there awhile too. 4:15 to 4:45 central time.

Annette Kryske

Nov. 19 2:20 PM PST. Liberty just popped in to say hello. She had a funny stance with her black feathers up for a few seconds. At first I thought maybe she was going to poop.Haha.She didn't. Just fixing the grass in the nest now. I guess she is waiting for her mate to show!!!!So am I.I thought I heard some bird sounds from the nest, but it turned out they were sounds from the birds in my yard. It's been 25 minutes now,& she is looking around.??Here he is!!!!!Looks like he brought in something. Now Justice is moving twigs around. I hope Carolyn is taking a video of this. They are"necking"??Liberty left.Justice is doing some twig work now.3 PM ca. time Justice flew the coop to.Nitey nite, little ones.
Annette Kryske

Ruth MacLeod

Had a hard time getting to the Alcoa site and wondered if it was just a still picture when I came on about 4:45 central time. Then I saw a flyby in back of the nest.

Judith Hart

Both are in the nest at 5:50 EST

Ruth MacLeod

One flew up to the Alcoa branch and then left. The other also left abt. 5:00 CST

Sue

Oh, goody! They are both in the nest at 5:53 am MST. I know it will be a great day when it starts with seeing the eagles in thier nest.

beamg

4:57pm CST Both L and J in the nest and the cam just changed to black and white. I missed them this morning so this is a treat.

Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving? I got my shopping done finally!

Annette Kryske

Nov. 20 2:45 pm PST. Liberty & Justice just stopped by to check on their nest,They seem to be alerted to something nearby. They are working on the grass.Justice flew off. He'a back & is staring right at me,while on the large perch.A little pecking at each other now. They are so cute to watch. It's now 3:10 pm PST Annette Kryske

beamg

Good morning everyone.

Very foggy in Iowa this AM and no sign of L or J yet. Looks almost spooky at the nest. If you're traveling in this area today, be safe. Visibility is at 1/4 mile or even less. Should clear up by late morning.

beamg

Alcoa must be working on the camera. I heard that rat-a-tat-tat and now there is no picture. Keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out ok!

Sue

Rats. It looks like the camera feed is out again. Just getting the "Connecting" circle and black screen at 7:00 am MST. Hope this doesn't create work for Alcoa over Thanksgiving. Ready to spend Thanksgiving here in Wyoming with my mother and brother. Can't wait for turkey sandwiches--my favorite part of Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving to all. I'm thankful for Alcoa providing this glimpse into Liberty and Justice's lives.

beamg

8:40 CST and the cam is back but no sound yet. Just happy to be able to see the nest!

Happy Thanksgiving eagleholics!

Kathi

I have checked in a couple of times since I discovered this website, but had not seen the eagles in the nest until yesterday evening. I was so excited to see them. Its so nice to have the opportunity to observe eagles.

Cherrycarol

kATHI 4:15 TO 5 PM CENTRAL TIME IS THE BEST TIME TO CATCH THEM. VERY FOGGY THIS MORNING MAYBE THAT'S WHY IT WASN'T WORKING. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!!

Mavis

12:26 EST Nov 21st

Lucille emailed me and asked that I post this Thanksgiving Card for all to see. She forgot how to post the link and asked me to post it for her. I hope this works. Thank you Lucille, you are always to thoughtful.

Annette Kryske

Lucille & All you Eagleholics.Thank you for your good wishes this Thanksgiving. We have much to be thankful for, like the new good friends we've made through Alcoa Cam. Lucille I love & sent Jacquie Lawson cards for years. Aren't they wonderful?
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Annette Kryske

Sue

Lucille (and Annette) Thanks so much for sharing the Jacquie Lawson card! What a treat! I wish all of you a Happy and Peaceful Thanksgiving.

Annette Kryske

Nov.21 2:45 pm PST.This is usually the time our little friends show up.Was just studying the nest & noticed what looks like a black wire on the left side of the nest just below the widest branch near the top of picture.I hope it is just my imagination. I didn't notice that before. Did anyone notice it??????Directly under that wire I kept seeing a leaf or light, hat keeps flickering, that I have seen there before. Will close this & come back a little later.
Annette Kryske

CaJ

Wishing ALL a Happy ThanksGiving Day!

Annette, will look when IT's lite enough.
We do have one of the parents on nest now. 6:25 a.m. nest time.

CaJ

Judith Hart

Looks like we're getting a show this Thanksgiving morning, with Liberty and Justice in the nest pixelating a bit.

I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving as we spend our day with Family and Friends creating memories.....
For those alone, Thank God for the wonderful memories created in the past.

God Bless everyone, may we all find Peace and Happiness on this Earth.

Jo Ann

Is that one of our eagles. He toe was caught in a stick. She looks different. She got tangled in something on the nest.

Annette Kryske

Nov.22, 2:25 pm PT/ Liberty & Justice are
here. What perfect timing! Just finished the last chore of the dinner for tonight's guests. They both seemed quite nervous. One of them was squawking,(even though there was no sound),They quickly flew away. It's 2:30 now.I will wait a while & maybe they might show up. The wind seems to blowing the nest a bit.It is now 2:45. At least .......,

Annette Kryske

Nov.22 22:55 PST. Continued from previous message. Both L & J are here now, Liberty are now working on the grass in the nest. They both are moving some of the branches. They are acting so cute. Liberty just nudged Justice & they" smooched". That;'s all folks they flew the coop. Nitey nite little ones until tomorrow.

Mavis

Annette, you make me smile with your excitement and your descriptions are so good that I can "see" what you see by reading your words. What a delight it is to read your posts!

Judith, your words were so touching and nice. The ones most fortunate are the ones who have made the best memories they can cuddle up to and feel the warmth of good times shared. That is truly a treasure. Happy Thanksgiving, friend.

Mavis

7:48 EST Nov 23rd..

Just checked on the nest and it was empty and rocking in the breeze.

OT ******

Only 364 more days till TURKEY DAY AGAIN!! Yesterday's meal was the best yet! EVERY year.. the dressing and giblet gravy become the best dressing and giblet gravy I've ever made. The homemade pumpkin pies from FRESH pumpkin are hard to beat. The hours to chop the fresh cranberries, oranges, celery, pecans, and grate the orange zest for Mom's famous cranberry relish that is so worth the trouble. Did I mention the fresh mustard greens? They have to be picked, washed at least 3 times, the stems removed and cooked in smoked ham hock broth. Not just one bunch...but 3 bunches it takes to get a half pot (big soup pot) of cooked greens. Everybody brags on the greens! Of course the turkey brine has to be prepared on Tuesday before Thanksgiving because the turkey has to soak for 24 hours before it is smoked. Thank goodness my son smoked it..that is beyond my expertise..thank goodness. After the meal is gobbled up (no pun intended) everyone comments on how good it is..that I should open a restuarant..no one can cook better than Mom..and that makes it all worth while!! Of course everyone ate so much that they are miserable and will have to lay down for a nap. That gives me some peace and quiet while I clean up ALL THE MESS!! All the big pots that were brought out have to be put back up. All that food left over has to be put away. The turkey has to be deboned because it won't fit in the refrigerator. Finally...FINALLY..it is DONE!!! Now "they" start straggling in again wanting to know if there is any pie left over? So out it comes again. As they are leaving they ask THE QUESTION OF THE DAY..."Mom, this was so good..why do you do it just once a year?" !!!! As they drive away, I am thinking "Cracker Barrel"!! If I am still here next year..I will think "this may be the last home cooked meal they will get from me"... so I will do it again. That fact dawned on me as I realized my own mom did the same thing until the year she died.

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and it doesn't matter if you had that big cooked homemade meal, or enjoyed the restaurant offerings, or even a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The important thing is that we made it special so it will become a memory to be cherished in the years to come...that we remembered to be thankful for what we have...for what we have gone through...and for where we are going....as a country, a community, a family, an individual. So...I say "BRING IT ON"..I woke up this morning ready for next year because it is 364 days away!!

Jo Ann

Mavis, you are great. I would love to go to your house for Thanksgiving. My mother-in-law, Annette made a terrific turkey dinner, as well. We are so thankful for her and my father-in-law. Now, it is time to check on our eagles. It looks so windy, it makes me dizzy. Have a safe Friday, everyone.

gregory

ANNETTE-and EVERYONE

i live my missed eagle visits vicareously thru your descriptions. i read every post.

MAVIS--

your Thanksgiving was awesome. as i read your post, my mouth was watering. no, really! i was really getting into it. if i had been there, i would have torn into those greens like a vicious dog. i would have smothered my whole plate with giblet gravy. it is fantastic on everything. i may put it on the pie too! i make mine with all the organs that are provided and i boil the neck with them and pick off the bits to use them as well. some people do not actually use the guts and neck, but still call it giblet gravy. i say, where is the flavor!
also some say giblet and others say jiblet.
i say giblet. how say you?

i had a very quiet day. we went to see LINCOLN. then we went to IHOP. it was the least stressful Thanksgiving i've ever had.

we will have our official Tday on sunday at my partner's mother's house and his whole family will be there. i have been a part of this family for 15 years. they love and accept us. it is as if i was always with them. since i took my partner, we have always had thanksgiving there. i have not had Thanksging with my biological family in all these 15 years, as my mother refuses to show if my partner is there. all of my family love and accept him. mother is the only one who won't have any. she has not called me even once in 15 years. i am very close with everyone else. i talk with my grandmother several times a day and am tight with her. if i want to talk with my mother, i have to call her. she is usually smug and seems to be annoyed with my call. she is down deep a good and loving person and i love her very much. it is a little sad.

i have an alternative for holidays and she does not, so ive decided to abstain from invitations for thanksgiving. she is unreasonable so we humor her. in the past she has done so much for me and she is older now, so i feel it best to let her have her way. i do see her from time to time and she is lovable and kind as long as there is no mention of my partner. i love my inlaws so it makes little difference to me. i have never had a bad Thanksgiving.

i also make giblet gravy whenever i get a whole chicken. why restrict the joy to one day?

i love my new family of birdheads too! ya'll bring me joy in an all too hateful world.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS and MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL!

Jo Ann

Gregory, Wow! Your story was so touching. I got goose bumps when I read it. Families can be so hard to deal with and understand, sometimes. I'm glad to hear you have love in your life, and that is the most important thing. Always remember that. That care and Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to you and everyone.

Mavis

Jo Ann...you said that so well. Gregory, all I can add is that I'm glad you have a big weekend planned with a loving family. And yes..I say it both ways...jiblet and giblet..depends on what comes out of my mouth but jiblet is the easiest to roll out! And yes again..it is made with gizzards, liver, and necks. All the meat is picked off and the gizzards and liver are chopped up. Hope you enjoy your "TDay"!

gregory

everyone-

thank you for your thoughts.

giblet gravy is a sinful delight. make it with every chicken and if others dont care for it, then keep it for yourself. it last's for days!

if you have some squemmish guest's, then puree the flavorful jewels--add them and after your compliment--you may divulge. i personall like to leave chunks

Sue

Hi, all. First and foremost, Gregory, family comes in many forms. Sometimes the one we are born to is not the one that provides the love and care we need. But, I believe that God, however you define God, provides what we need to fill our hearts, minds and bodies with the nourishment we need. It seems that God has provided for you in your partner's family. Your tolerance and forgiveness of your mom is very special and show's the kindness of your heart. I am sorry for you and your mother that you are estranged. So sad for both of you. I struggle with my family relationships too--in a different way, but I continue to find friends that are the family of my heart rather than biology. The instinctual devotion of Liberty and Justice renew my hearts hurts. Regarding the giblets I can't imagine a Thanksging without gib/jiblet gravy! Thanksgiving memories include the fragrance of gib/jiblets being slowly boiled with celery and onions in preparation to make the most special Thanksgiving gravy. Yesterday, my mom made it perfectly. It is one of the few things she remembers how to make. Just had a turkey sandwich and it was delicious. Haven't seen L or J today, but I slept in. They were in my prayers of thanks yesterday. I don't know--they provide so much hope in a sometimes confused and stressful world. Happy day, all.

Annette Kryske

Gregory!I would be glad to adopt you as one of my own.I am all teary eyed after reading your message.I bowl with a young man on Thursdays & he has the same problem with his mother.Shame on both of them. His mate's mother bakes cakes & cookies& send them to my bowling friend to share with us. She lives in Hawaii.
Life is so short sometimes,& when someone finds a mate to love & honor,it just breaks my heart that you all have to put up with such stupidity.Even with families of different religions,,should not let this break up families. Enuf of this ,let us look forward to the future,& not let things ruin
holiday celebrations. HAPPY HOLIDAY TO YOU ALL..

ANNETTE--

it is what it is and no one is to blame. if you havent read the Word and understand the overall message, then it is time.

you are clearly kind and there is a message for you.

TRUST yourself as those words speak differently to you as they would others. that is why it is the LIVING WORD!

i will not press this again!

ANNETTE-MAVIS-JOEANNE- SUE-----

YA'LL make me cry. you are all so very kind and thoughtful. ANNETTE-- don't worry for me. i am numb to it any more and i have my God as you said. lets say no more of it. sleep tight girls. i am so thankful for having you all around. goodnight.

I wish EVERYONE happiness, peace, health, and good will. THAT BEING SAID... Mr. John has cautioned us several times that this is an open and unmonitored site. One never knows who is lurking. For our safety, caution about disclosing things personal and private should be taken.

I AM NOT TELLING ANYONE WHAT THEY CAN OR CANNOT DISCUSS...I am just a guest here like everyone else. I just wanted to throw that caution out to all of you as I am the worst to go OT (off topic) at times.

I missed seeing L ad J yesterday. Today, it is my mission to be online when they pop in. I want to see some of that "smooching" Annette has been talking about!!

Mavis

8:12 EST Nov 24th

I keep checking on the nest and still no L or J..I may have missed them when I let the dogs out.

I keep thinking today is Monday! These holidays sure keep me mixed up! I think it must be just me and my old age!

gregory

MAVIS-

thank you for your caution. i guess i sorta lost my way. i feel as though i may have burdened you guys. i am sorry and will be more aware.

Thanks for the forecast.

My eye sight must be getting bad, or is it that the font size on this comment page is smaller than usual?????It looks like a fraction of an inch to me.It started shrinking yesterday. Though I have pretty good vision with my glasses. This seems to only happen when I am sending a comment. & then it goes to normal ,after I post it.
No luck with our little friends.I didn't see any action yesterday either. Will check more often today.

Annette, the font when you type your comment is a little different and I think, yes, maybe a bit smaller. After you post it becomes much easier to read. I haven't seen L or J for a couple of days now. I know I missed them Thanksgiving but others spotted them. I just had bad timing. I did look out for them more yesterday and today but have not seen them. They have most of their work done on the nest so maybe they are taking a break. CheryCarol saw one of them in the Aloca tree I think yesterday and posted a picture so they are around.

Shout out if you see them!

Annette...you can increase the font size as much as you want to by holding the control {CTRL} key down on your keypad and at the same time push the plus {+} key once or twice or whatever makes it easier to read for you. To decrease the font size, just hold the CTRL key down and push the minus key a time or two...My control key is in the bottom left corner of the keyboard and the plus key is close to the top right corner. This procedure also works if you want to enlarge the entire screen..I have to do this a lot since these old eyes are getting worn out !

JC.... You are my savior!!It irritates me when something goes wrong with my computer.I keep working on it until I can fix it.Guess that's my nature about many things. I am quite good with the computer info, for an old lady.(84) & playing word games.Leon & I do all the puzzles in LA Times daily.I make a copy of the puzzle page on the printer, & each morning over breakfast,we work on them Sudoku & Ken Ken are the best.It is challenging & we love it. THANKS AGAIN JC.

Nov. 24 1:35 pm. Jo Ann just called as I was checking to see if anyone is in the nest.Funny, how we both have a feeling if L or J show up, even if it is a little earlier than the usual time ,which is between 2 pm or 3 pm. L or J just did a little grass work & a twig or two was moved & off it went. It is only 1:45 pm."I'll be back"!!Like our former Gov. of Ca.(Arnold Schwartzenagger, whew!!)used to say..Haha

isn't that much room for both of them. Not sure who flew away. Liberty is walking around with that huge branch.Justice just came back.He has a smaller branch & she tried to take it away & did.Now working as a team on the large branch.Wish I could help!!Little smooching! Both left at 2:52 PST.Nitey nite.

And they're off....probably heading to the river for a nice fish dinner and an ice cold drink before dark.

I watched them for a few minutes. They kind of fought over that one small twig but Liberty got her way. She just let Justice place it then she swooped it up and replaced it where she wanted. Was cute. I never noticed them pecking or smooching as Annette calls it, as much last spring as they are now. Nice to watch. I tried a couple of screen shots but they are not coming out as clear as they used to. Maybe my technique is not as good and I need to practice. Anyway, I enjoyed a nice visit with them this evening. Like Judith says, maybe they are going to dine out by the river tonight.

Jo Ann

Brrrrr! Thanks Judith for the forecast. I always like to know what the weather is for Davenport.

EaglesOnly

Another season and here we go again. The regulars here have their own Facebook home where they can share whatever they like, but here are all these personal stories etc. to wade through to find out info about the eagles we all come here to enjoy. Please people! Have some consideration for others. Mr. John may not tell you to keep this site eagle related, but I will say if you have any of the respect you all say you do for Alcoa, keep your private lives on your own page and let this be an area to collect and read about eagles. Please.

Judith Hart

I you want some activity, go over to the Alcoa Osprey site, there's a lot of vultures over there.
