I was becoming concerned since all I see in the nest area are L and J. Looks like they're waiting up for the kids to come home from a date. Thank you for the wonderful photos of H and G. I feel better knowing they are out and about. With all those trees in the area, why would the eaglet want to perch on such a small stump!!! Fran

Jo Ann

I'm so glad you got those pictures. Whew! We can breath a sigh of relief! Thank you so much.

R L ML

Thanks for the new pictures. Great seeing where they are exploring. Guess that they figure that they have spent enough time in the tree and want something different.

Cristine

What beautiful photos, Mr. John! Thank you for sharing with us.

ER

Thanks for the pictures of H&G doing just what young juvies do when they figure out that those beautiful big wings can take them to all those places they could see from the nest. I think Liberty and Justice sit up on that very high limb so they can keep an eye on the kids.Just as the sun rises and sets each day, these eagle do what they have done for years and years. We are just observer,so rest assured that Liberty and Justice are pro at raising the young no matter how much We fuss about food and lifestyle of these bird. They seen to have everything under control.

Mavis

5:33 PM EDT

Mr. John!!! You outdid yourself with those pictures! Who would want to sit in a tree when there is so much more to see out there!! One of the pictures reminds me of the Karate Kid! They look like they are having a good time. They stayed in that tree so long...now the world seems to be theirs. They look like kids playing. You did good, Mr. John. Thank you!

I have an idea for the gift shop. A calendar...12 outstanding pictures...tracing eggs to fledging...THAT WOULD SELL!! I get one free for the idea...and I'll buy 3 more!

Cherrycarol

Thank you so much for the pictures. I've been over there 3 times 7 NO LUCK SEEING THEM. I'LL HAVE TO LOOK FROM IL. IF THEY ARE SITTING ON THE RIVER SIDE. Looks like they r enjoying seeing there new world! Awesome!! Carol

Cherrycarol

We have L & J & one of the babies on that dead tree branch.

Annette Kryske

3:15 PM PDT. What more can I ask for on such a gorgeous day here in Ca., than to turn on my computer and see 3 out of 4 of my little family that I have been watching for months now? I'm sure #4 is nearby. Thank you Mr. John for the great pics. We knew you would be coming across shortly to show these to us, and of course many of you on OT, have been wonderful these months taking shots of our little family. Thank y'all too. Have a great weekend!

Judith Hart

There's some really nasty looking storms SW of the nest area.

Annette Kryske

3:49 PDT One parent & I juvie on the branch, and another juvie gorging himself in the nest. He's been there for a while. His sister(or brother) ,just flew off the branch next to his parent. I wonder where he went! Thanks Judith for the weather report, even though it isn't that encouraging.

beamg

The whole family is there! L & J on deadwood and both G & H in the nest!

Jo

Oh how wonderful! Thanks so very much Mr John for the great pictures! It is so good to see that they're all ok!

I came on to see Glory and Honor in the nest and Liberty and Justice up on the Deadwood branch. I blinked and found one Parent in the nest with both eaglets and one still on Deadwood. Looks like the P and Glory and Honor are enjoying dinner or a late night snack.

What a real treat to see them all together like this! Looks like they weathered the storm and may be in for another one tonight, too.

I sure am going to miss this precious family!

Tracy Vigus

Thanks so much Mr. John. The pictures are great. I know you took time away from garage cleaning and laundry to do this for all of us... lol. Love love the 2nd one and the last one!

Judith Hart

Looks like Brother Honor and Sister Glory are going to ride the storm out together in the nest.

beamg

Oops! I forgot the say "Thanks Mr. John for the awesome pics!"

And yes the weather could get ugly. I was in Davenport this afternoon and they had not gotten any rain yet at 3:30. The Special Weather Statement I just got says thunderstorms this evening with very gusty winds are possible. I guess we'll see just have to see what happens.

Still one parent on deadwood and G & H in the nest.

Cherrycarol

I wonder if H or G will spend the night in the nest?

Mavis

8:07 PM EDT

Judith just gave me the weather link for the Quad City area. Looks like some bad fronts are moving in. I noticed H and G seem to be settled in the nest so that is good. They can ride it out there and be lulled to sleep by a rocking cradle.

Here is the weather link:

http://radar.weather.gov/radar_lite.php?rid=dvn&product=N0R&loop=yes

beamg

Carol, I wonder that too. They're both hunkered down for now. I think they'll stay.

I checked the radar and it looks like the worst part of the storm is going to stay south of the nest.

beamg

Thanks Judith and Mavis for the radar link. It matches the one I check on TWC. Does it look like rain drops on the camera? Or is it getting fogged up? It's so humid out!

Jo Ann

Mavis, I love the idea for the calendars. I think they would really sell. I'm sure people would buy more than one. I missed seeing two babies, but, I did manage to see one in the nest. Thank you again, Mr. John. Hoping the storm skips the nest and our eagle family. Happy early Father's Day to my eagle family here at Alcoa. Happy early Father's Day Justice. You are a great dad.

Jo Ann

I forgot to ask, but, does this camera face west, east, north or south? I know we must have talked about it, but, I forgot. Thanks for the info.

Judith Hart

Jo Ann, Mr. John said the camera faces WNW NW

Jo Ann

Thank you Judith

Cherrycarol

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL YOU DADS & JUSTICE TOO! Nobody home now at 6:45 am. Calendars r a great idea. I get5 one from the bald eagle days every year. Modern Woodman puts them out. I don't think we got anything last night. Just muggy out. A lot of storms go north or south of us a lot. Maybe because of the river. I might go over to the nest later. I'll wait til I see them on here first. Carol

beamg

Good morning Carol and anyone else watching.

I see a parent on the deadwood and the nest looks empty. It's going to be another hot and sticky day I think. They say by the middle of the week it will be cooler and drier. The drier part would be especially good!

Happy Father's Day to Justice and all dads watching.

Mavis and Carol, I love the calendar idea too! Some really great photos have been taken and posted on here by Mr. John and what better way to remember those than to have them the whole year on a calendar!!!

Tracy Vigus

Good morning to all the eagle watchers! While we are on the calendar subject.. I wondered about adding pics of the 3 last year. There were some great shots of those 3. Loved the one of Justice in the field with all 3 of the newly fledged kids. He was teaching them more tricks of the trade. Either way... its a great idea you guys. :)

Jo Ann

Keeping with the calendar subject, maybe we could still use those pictures of F, H, and S and possibly Freedom (if there are any) along with Glory and Honor for a coffee table book. That way we could have a little pictorial history of Liberty and Justice. Both calendars and the coffee table books would make great presents. I don't know how one would go about doing it, but, wouldn't it be great to have some of our comments in there as well as captions under the pictures? Of course, Mr. John would be the narrator. I think I'm getting carried away, but, just some thoughts. Happy Fathers Day all.

Annette Kryske

11:55 AM PDT. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
Liberty & Justice are celebrating on their favorite branch, looking at their eaglets flying around in "the wild blue yonder". One of them decided to join the little ones just now.All seems calm. I think all of your ideas JoAnn,and the rest of you, sound great for advertising of our Eagle family. Mr. John, I am sure will be thinking about that too.NN might have some good ideas.

Jo

WOW, what great ideas! I especially like Jo Ann's idea of a coffee table book with pictures of Justice, Freedom (if any), and the original brood of Faith, Hope, Spirit, plus Liberty, Glory and Honor...and any future nests these two hatch. What a book that would be.

I bet Mr John has already thought of that idea. However, it might take another year's nest to "flesh it out" unless he has enough pictures of these 8 to make a book! I know I'd buy the book...if it didn't cost a wing and a leg not to mention a whole bunch of feathers!

I, too, only see L or J up on Deadwood branch and no one else around. The video streem is moving so slowly that at first I thought my screen was frozen...about one frame every 30 seconds or so. That may be my computer, though.

I just went back to check the picture and the other Parent just joined the one on Deadwood. However, my picture is doing the "freeze frame/strobe light" thing again so I only get bits and pieces of motion and it froze with Liberty (I believe) just touching down on Deadwood with her wings out wide & starting to close and the next shot had her all folded in and calmly perched.

Then, it went to a totally black screen. I reloaded and I can tell it is Liberty on the very tip top branch of Deadwood and Justice is perched at the V of it. What a gorgeous picture that would be...if I had a way of taking it! :) Still no kiddies around though.

Jo

Happy Father's Day to Justice...and all you fathers out there! Hope you have a wonderful day with your family!

Mavis

3:05 PM EDT June 16th..

Strickly OT folks:

I woke up this morning wishing I could give my Dad a hug and a kiss...that always brought one of those wonderful smiles to his face..and a crinkle in his eye. He loved us kids so much...and I sure loved him.

We grew up in a small rural town. You walked wherever you wanted to go and you spoke to everyone. Could never do anything wrong without some parent telling our parents on us. Everyone knew everyone. I remember we had an Eagles Dept Store...sold everything...like Belks. Eagles was for the upper middle class...we were poor and most of Live Oak was poor. My dad knew the manager and he got me a job there for one day...wrapping presents for the customers for Father's Day. I was 12 years old. I wrapped and I did good. I pulled those ready made bows and made pretty packages. I had my savings in my pocket that day....$2.00. I wanted to buy my dad something special. I found a little travel alarm clock...it was small and would fit in the palm of my hand. It was in a little case that when you opened it, the clock would fold out and prop up in a slot and sit up so you could see it. It looked expensive and I knew it was because it was from Eagle's Dept Store! So, with the $2.50 I was going to get paid for the day, and the 10% discount the store said I would get for being a one day employee, I had just enough money to buy the clock.. if I drank water with my sandwich for lunch instead of spending the nickle Dad gave me for a soda water. I forgot about the tax..I think it was 3% but the manger let me have the little traveling alarm clock. I wrapped it real special and put TWO bows on it...made it real special for my dad. I couldn't wait until the next morning. He was going to get the best gift ever..and it was from Eagle's Dept. Store! So the next morning Dad opened all his hand made " The Best Dad in the World" cards and smiled and thanked everyone for their little gifts. Then he opened mine...I thought he would get excited and get real happy...but he starred into my eyes, said thank you, and I felt the extra pat when he hugged me. It was no different that what he gave the other kids. At that time there were six of us. Mom and Dad had eight...should have stopped with me...I was enough! Anyway..Dad died in 2001 and Mom died in 2010. When you lose your parents...well...I don't know the words to explain all that...I just know that I felt like I lost the biggest treasure I would ever have. Anyway...they lived in that big house Dad built for 52 years. A lot of stuff in there. When the sisters and I met there for days on end, going thru and clearing out the house, we went through tons of memories. Dad's dresser was one of the last things we tackled and we all dreaded it. He was such a special man. Anyway we read a lot of cards he had saved from all of us. We were so surprised as Dad never showed a lot of emotion, but we knew...we knew how much he loved us. So, this one card I was looking at..there was a beautiful handwritten note to Dad say how much he was loved and how lucky that person was that he was her dad. I thought it was well written and felt bad that the words were not mine because you could feel the love that daughter had for him. Then I saw who wrote it...it said, "I will always love you forever, Mavis". I cried and was thankful that I wrote what I had read to my daddy. When we were almost through, I pulled out some hankerchiefs that were tucked in the back and when I did...that little alarm clock from Eagle's Dept. Store sat there in his drawer. He had kept it for all these years. He made me feel special, even after he died. Happy Father's Day to the best dad in the whole world. I will always love you forever.

So...I want to wish a Happy Father's Day to all of you dads out there. Each of you are as special to your children or your furry friends as my dad was to me. You will always be remembered in the hearts of the ones who love you. The love the dwells in the hearts of children who love their parents...well...that is probably the best love of all.

Hope all of you wonderful Dads enjoy your special day.

Jo

Mavis, thank you for sharing your memories of your Dad with us. That was extra special and I "cried" along with you at your memory.

Although I want to share some of mine, I can't do it because then I'll be crying all day long. Suffice it to say I, too, have lost both my parents and miss them GREATLY.

Mother's Day and Father's Day, for those who have lost (and those who have never had) one, are days of rememberance. Thank YHWH (God) if you can only remember the good memories!

Cherrycarol

Mavis You r making me cry too. I just back from the cemetery. My dad died in 2010 & I lost my mom when she as only 45 in 1966. My second mom was awesome & died OF Alziehmers in 2005. My dad worked at IH. right on the river in East Moline. So we had a GREAT CHILDHOOD. So I have my step mom Mary, my dad,Mitch mom June & my grandma all together now at the cemetery & in heaven. I lost my husband 2010 too. I have some of his family by mine & then I found a couple I grew up with at church as a child. I never knew they were almost next to my mom & dad. Happy Fathers Day to all u dads today. What a beautiful day it is today. I went to the nest & saw nothing again. POO! I can't see that deadwood branch from back there.Lots of people out & about.

Mavis

Cherrycarol....sounds like you went through a lot of hurt and pain since 2010. The more you love...the deeper the hurt and pain. That's just a fact. It sounds like your family created a wonderful network of love and left you and your sister wrapped tight with wonderful memories. The memories keep us warm and safe. The memories help the pain and they stay with us so we can draw from them and feel their love when we need them the most.
You are a happy go lucky person, Carol. You make the best of what you've been dealt...and you try to enjoy what you can. All this is possible largely because of the security of love they left you with.

OK...enough...everyone...enjoy this day!

Cherrycarol

Ok Now I'm watching the golf tourney. This is what my DAD & I DID ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS & I=I'D MAKE DINNER TOO. RIGHT MAVIS SO MANY GOOD MEMORIES! Mom & Dad on the deadwood branch & 1 eaglet in the tree.

Jo

Liberty now in fork of Deadwood and Justice tip top there...sharing Father's Day together. Nice of Liberty to stay with Justice! I'm sure the kidlets are out and about flying to their hearts content. I can see Liberty and Justice tracking them but the kiddies are letting Mom and Dad have a peaceful day together.

Lots of other feathered neighbors out and about today, too...can see them flitting in and out of the picture. Lovely day today!

My Father passed in late 98 and my Mother passed just 4 months later in 99. I had 3 brothers and 2 sisters that lived of 9 siblings. My siblings all live back East and I moved West. We still keep in touch, but not as often as I'd like, although I do go back to spend time with them all every couple of years or so.

Have a wonderful rest of the day, y'all! I'm going out to eat (all by my lonesome)in hopes that the memories won't overwhelm me.

Tracy Vigus

Oh My. I always have tissues close by (usually puffs plus), but today....After reading all the fathers day memories from our posters... I had to make a special trip to the linen closet for a washcloth! I ran cooled water in it and washed my face, half smiling and half crying! I needed much more than tissue to get through them!

As for the Eagles, they are all fine. I just saw Fran's post and want to relay to her and all the watchers that they are in and out all day today. It has been wonderful. looking forward to an active evening on the nest.

Mavis

6:37 PM EDT

Tracy...you made me laugh!

I just posted some shots of one parent on Deadwood, one juvie in nest, second parent flies in...then flies to Deadwood leaving juvie to eat. I'm sure the other juvie is close by. We may see them all there in a few minutes. Been waiting for a little action on the nest...those kids need to come home more often!

Cherrycarol

Looks like a copy of last night. Where is that second one at? The Alcoa osprey cam & kids r doing a lot of wingersizing. Won't be long one will take off.

Mavis

7:34 PM EDT

Jo, hope you enjoyed your evening out. After you left, the second juvie joined the nest so for a while, we had both on the nest. Ruth said she saw both parents on Deadwood at the same time so all four were there at once.

Like Ruth, I am having a bit of trouble reconnecting to the live feed. It only stays on for about 3 seconds then I get that horrid grey screen with the white circles. It will probably get better later.

R L ML

Mavis commented that I saw all 4 at once and I did. I thought I saw 3 on the nest at one time and one on Deadwood. The 3 on the nest was confirmed when I saw one fly off of the nest and there were still 2 there. For sometime they stood side by side and then the one that flew from the nest arrived on Deadwood and sat directly beside the one already there. It was hard to see white heads at the time so not sure who was who. Shortly the 2nd on the nest flew away. (later the one on the nest was on the right branch for some time.

R L ML

Just came back to a beautiful sunset view. Colors in the clouds and a brighter spot behind the nest showing one eagle on the right nest branch. One eagle on Deadwood and another just below and to the left another only partially in view.

Jo

I come home t find out I've missed it all...except for the one eagle sitting on the branch under the old camera. sighhhh that's what I get for being hungry lol. Well, seeing 3 of 4 in one day is good odds I guess so I'm not altogether sad!

Went to Macaroni Grill for dinner...haven't been there for quite a while. God excellent service...probably because I was sitting all by my lonely. I can recommend the chicken under a brick...was delicious!

Jo

P.S. Got not God LOL excuse the typo's! ROFL I broke a nail and now my typing is all outa wack, shoulda done read that afore posting huh LOL!

Cherrycarol

What beautiful picture today. L or J still on the deadwood. Looks like the camera is closer & the sun is out. The color is great! Plumbing problems at the salon so I have to go in & call one. An old cast iron pipe has a hole in it from a SHOWER UPSTAIRS & IT COMES INTO A TANNING ROOM . UGH!! & I thought I was all done. It's FOR SALE! I don't want all these responsibility's. Lunch with friends ( I hope) Have a great day.

Mavis

8:07 AM EDT June 17th

CherryC...still see just one parent on the tree...sitting on Deadwood.

Maybe Mr,. John will pan the camera today and just maybe..we will spot them! Those pictures he took by the water's edge sure makes me want to go there in person to see for myself! Remember to give us a heads up if you can, Mr. John, before you pan so we can be on the watch.

Good morning everyone!

ER

Good Morning all--checked the nest and all is quite still there with no eagles that I could see. Must be out hunting for a little chow. Thanks Mr John for the pictures. You seem to catch the greatest shots of the eagle family. That calendar idea is great. The face page or front one could be a comp of many shots of Justice and Liberty with a little history of their family after the camera was installed. There are some great ideas from viewers. And there are some great shots by many of them, I am sure they would be thrilled to have those shots on a calendar. It would be a big undertaking, but I am sure many of the locals would do all the hunting through all those shots we have now over the last two years and come up with a collection that would be perfect. If not for the calendar , maybe a photo book.

beamg

Good morning eagleholics! 8:18 am CDT and it's an absolutely gorgeous day today! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and there is a slight breeze.

I see no eagles. Guess I got up too late or at least got here too late. (I sat outside with my coffee.) I got caught up with the posts and realize I missed quite a bit yesterday. Thanks everyone for posting the action!

Carol, I'm so sorry you have another problem with your shop. Good luck selling. I don't blame you for wanting out.

Happy viewing everyone. I hope if there is camera panning today I manage to be here at the right time!

Pat

Before this nesting season ends,I want to thank everyone who has been a part of making this such a wonderful experience for me. This is the first nest I've watched. I began watching shortly before there was a pip in the first egg. That weekend, I was glued to the screen and then continued to spend lots of time watching until the first camera was damaged. Withdrawal! Thanks for all the updates, comments, and pictures that were posted by those who live near the nest. Misfortune turned into a special opportunity to see the eaglets as they branched. I miss a lot of the action, so deeply appreciate that you share what you see.
It would require a lot of time to put together a calendar, but I like the idea. If one becomes available, I would purchase three - one for me and one each for two other L&J fans.

Annette Kryske

11:05 AM PDT Good Morning Eagleholics: Hope you all had a nice Fathers Day, and are back to normal today. I see Glory & Honor are at school his morning. Wish we could have seen the action. Can any of you imagine what they are learning today?????Hm.It looks a little breezy out at Alcoa Land. The sun is just coming out here in LA. Just saw a bird fly by.Could that be one of ours? Have a Great Day!

Jo

Carol, I'm so sorry you're having such a problem with your shop. However, I don't think you should give up! After all the hard work you've put into fixing up the shop, selling it would be allowing someone else the benefit of all your hard work! You've worked so hard to get this shop renovated and open, I'm thinking it is you that should benefit, not someone else! Just my opinion! Unless, of course, all the hard work you've already put into it would make you lots and lots of money ;)!

I'm getting here late and have yet to see any feathered friends of any kind! Not even Fearless! My guess is that 3pm nest time is hunting time for all good eagles in the area. Looks like a nice day in Alcoa land with a nice breeze going which should help with the bugs anyway.

Cherrycarol

YEA!! Great shot of mom or dad. Thanks for the up close shot. Mr John. Thanks JO!

Jo

WOW, great shot of Parent! thanks Mr John or whomever is working the camera!

beamg

It's about 4:00pm CDT and we have a great close up of a parent on deadwood! Just awesome and beautiful!!!

Thanks Mr. John!

beamg

And now panning....showing the river and even the traffic across the river. WooHoo WTG Mr. John again!!! :)

Cherrycarol

Nice to see some panning. My first time. You could see those nice condos on the IL side. Parent gone now. 4"15

Jo

Sorry, Didn't really have time to warn everyone before it was almost over lol I'm sure Mr John will post that picture of whichever parent it was...at least I'm hoping he will anyway!

Jo

One of the P's is back on Deadwood

Judith Hart

DARN!!! I missed it, yapping on the phone.

Cherrycarol

Sorry Judith. Both on the deadwood now. L & J that is

Jo

Ok, I see 3 Eagles in Deadwood branch, where's number 4? :)

Annette Kryske

3:03 PM PDT Mom & Dad are on their usual perch. G or H was on his perch on the right just for few minutes. Hopped into the nest, looking for food, and opened his beak and called out and flew out of the nest& is flying over his parents this second. Looks like he had a bit of a problem landing on the perch. He & L or J are on the lower branch. He is on the right hand corner of that branch.Quite a bit of excitement from this episode, for me, as well. Hope #4 shows up. Time for a little siesta.

Jo

Nice pan shot Mr John! Where's number 4? I won't get to see it 'cause I've gotta leave...WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Jo

Sniffle Sniffle, I guess three is better'n none :) L8tr G8trs!

Cherrycarol

Love this camera!

Cherrycarol

Both kids in the nest for dinner.

Jo

ahh back in time to see both Glory and Honor at the nest. YAY!!

Jo

Oh but that looks like an awful storm coming in! Hope they all stay at the nest tonight!

Jo

Looks like twinkle christmas tree lights with the sun shining on the leaves like that. However the rays are blocking out the view.

beamg

Jo, I see what you're talking about and it does look like Christmas lights. And that sky looks ominous. I just went out to look here (just west of the nest) and I don't see that black cloud here. There is a possibility of storms this evening.

I see one parent on deadwood, one juvie in the nest and the other just to the right of the nest. They seem to know when a storm is coming so maybe they will stay put.

Jo

two young eagles sitting on their old branches while Mom or Dad is up in Deadwood keeping watch for the night.

I'm happy! I got to see the kiddies again!

Judith Hart

Did anyone else see the white lights shooting through the sky???

Jo

Hi Bea, I think Mom's in the deadwood and Dad is somewhere there, too. I see a patch of dark about the middle of the screen...leaves around it are moving but the eagleshaped patch isn't, so that might be him. Good to know they're all close by for the night.

Cherrycarol

What a beautiful picture. No rain tho.

Jo

aww too cute, Glory and Honor are now sharing the same branch, under the camera

Jo

I still think that, judging by their body/head shapes and size, Glory is a female and Honor is a male

Mavis

Jo... It was the thinking when Glory was named, that she was probably female....and Honor a male. I guess your thinking is in line with the rest of us. Glad you got to see the panning and both juvies today.

Jo

So am I, Mavis, 'cause I just checked now and Glory and Honor are gone again.

Cherrycarol

Uh U the camera isn't working :(

Barbara Lester

I am loving this new camera angle! The close up camera is great when the babies are little, but this wide angle lets us see the whole tree and be able to see the parents and Honor and Glory before and after they fledge. I vote we use these two cameras every year!!! Thank you, Alcoa, for allowing all of us to share in this wonderful experience with these magnificent birds!! God bless you! Barbara in Marietta, GA

Cristine

A beautiful clear day here in Alcoa land! All of that oppressive humidity has gone out of the air overnight, and the sky is a gorgeous blue with a nice breeze. Only a high of of 78 degrees today. Feels like a Spring day! Turned off my air conditioning this morning when I got up. I would much rather have my doors and windows open so I can hear the birds and feel the breeze. One eaglet in the nest and Mom or Dad on the Deadwood branch the last time I looked. So comforting to see them. Have a great day everyone.

Annette Kryske

6:45 AM PDT. Oh what a beautiful morning& The first thing I see is a little black head in the nest. Then the branch on the far left, a beautiful parent flew in for just a second & out it went. The little juvie got up an is just sitting, looking out and seems to be waiting for something to eat??? The picture looks wonderful.
Have a Great Tuesday
! ,

R L ML

Tried to thank Alcoa last night for a wonderful one hour show while I was on the phone, but it wouldn't post.
The new camera view was just great as there was coming and going for the entire hour from 7 to 8 EDT.

Also had seen the close up pan a bit earlier.
An entirely different experience than last year with this new cam view.

Jo Ann

Hi all, I missed the seeing the kiddies, the panning camera and the white lights Judith mentioned. I better get on the ball. It certainly looks like a beautiful day. Hope to see the family today. Have a great eagle watching day.

Jo

No one around the nest except for Fearless and a few friends, not an eagle in sight! Guess that just means that they're out there enjoying the gorgeous day. Blue skies above and a nice breeze to make flying...well, a breeze!

Y'all have a wonderful day! Thanks Mr John for the view we've been given of this little family. It's been a real treat!

Mavis

1:46 PM EDT June 18th

I have been watching the nest off and on all morning. Gotta say...it is about as dull on the nest as it is here on the comment page. I had to check to see if a new thread had been started ...but no...just this one. Not much a person can report on. Beautiful sky...clear...wind blowing...and no eagles! I did see one small bird on Deadwood earlier...got so excited that I captured a screen shot! Would like to think is was Fearless looking for his buddies.

Don't know what else to say, folks...unless someone has a fantastic recipe for cheesecake!!

Judith Hart

Both juveniles sitting in the nest....

R L ML

Mavis I went back to the nest after reading your comment and there was one eaglet in the nest one on Alcoa branch and L or J on the right nest branch. Adult flew away right away. Judith you must have missed that. H and G still there when the 15 minute break arrived.

Cherrycarol

One eaglet on it's favorite branch.

Jo

Looks like L or J still up in the Deadwood branch and G or H still on branch under cam at nest.

Ditto Jo's comment.

Maybe we could figure out what the clouds look like? I see a holey cloud and can't figure out what it reminds me of - swiss cheese? 5:52pm Iowa time, CDT.

What? Now it looks like 3 juvies visible! That can't be! One of them has to be a parent but I can't make out a white head on any of them. Anyone else watching?

I C 3.....I think we're looking through a stained glass window.

Jo

Both L & J in Deadwood, I think that's Glory on branch below camera. Wonder where Honor is?

Sandy Stricklin

I think a parent is sitting on the highest/tallest branch.
The other 2 are G & H. Just my opinion.

Hey! They are all there now.

YES, I also see all 4!

Judith, good one - stained glass window!

I am so excited to see the whole family! Also to that know G &H are doing well. Once they fledge it's hard to know how long they will stick around. But, it should be a bit longer hopefully. I know the SWF eagles I watched this winter stayed around a month or so once they fledged.

All four at nest and tree, L & J on Deadwood, Glory on branch and Honor in nest.
