Beatiful picture of the leaves eagle and pelican(?)Sorry, it looked like a sea gull to me but what do I know! Glad the second cam is almost done...that should make watching the nest so much fun! Thanks Mr. John, for all the hard work you do! You ARE appreciated!

Jo

BEAUTIFUL!! What the heck is wrong with the Internet today. I KNOW that word was spelled right when I sent it LOL Oh well!

geri

Saw Liberty and Justice in the nest last night. Can't wait and hope this year is storm free.

Cherrycarol

Thanks Mr John. I saw the juvie that was in the nest flying over my head in Moline. Got a shot of it. Wonder who it is. I'd think our 2 would be gone by now. I was a happy camper for sure!! At least it could have been the same one.

Annette Kryske

4:39 PM PDT.Thanks for the pictures, and your comments. We always like to hear from you. Hopefully, the cameras will be in place soon,& we can enjoy all the action in the nest when L & J show up. I Haven't been too successful seeing them due to our Calif. time. Fortunately we have some wonderful Photographers on OT & FB, who send pictures daily for us to see. Thanks Carol,Cherry Carol,Gloria, Mavis, etal.

Jo

G'morning all! Been sitting here for the past hour or so in hopes that I'd see L & J but not an eagle in sight. Heck, not even Fearless and friends in sight. I'm going back to bed.

Jo

Well, I see now that it's 3 hours time difference not 2 but, since I got here at about 6:48am I still should have been in the ballpark on the time. Guess not.

beamg

Mr. John thanks so much for the update on the 2nd camera and the pics you got yesterday. Great shots!

Jo, I'm so sorry you have not seen any eagles yet this year. One of these days you'll get lucky and there they will be! As for the 3 hour time difference you mentioned, typepad is on eastern time while the nest is in the central time zone. So, the posts here all have the eastern time as the post time. I always have to stop and think when reading other posts so I know what the nest time was at that time. Confused yet? Right now it is 9:23 cst but my post, when I post, will show up as about 10:23.

I just heard an eagle offscreen but no show in the nest. Pretty windy again today. Chance of rain later and it's overcast right now. Have a great weekend everyone.

Bea Griffore

Well pooh! I forgot to sign in with FB so I had to use the code for my previous post. I'm on track now though. Still nobody home.

Bea Griffore

JO...ARE YOU AWAKE AND WATCHING?

At about 10:30 AM CST I heard a squawk, came running into the office and there was a parent on the Alcoa branch! Can't tell who it is 'cause the most of it's head is out of the picture but she/he is beautiful!

Cristine

Oh, I wish Jo was awake and could see this, too! I just came on at 10:45 central and there he/she is! An "in your face" close-up of Liberty or Justice just sitting there. Like Bea said you can't really see the head, but a great zoom of the wing so you can see all the layers of those beautiful white-tipped feathers. Getting a few raindrops at the nest right now. You can hear them hitting the leaves. The sun is supposed to come out sometime this afternoon. It's
11:00 and he/she is still there, just looking around, getting an "eagle-eye" view of it's world :)

Cristine

Update! At 11:02, the other eagle flew into the nest, and the one on the branch turned around to see the goings-on. Now I now think the one on the branch is Justice because I can see those little white feathers coming out of his back. Liberty busied herself moving around those new leaves and a thick stick, while Justice watched. It was really hard to see though because Justice was in the way most of the time, blocking the view.
11:25 Liberty takes off. Justice still on the branch. Wow.

R L ML

Missed seeing Liberty come and go so thanks for letting me know when it was. I could see the leaves being moved and saw her head one time and then saw her tail for several minutes.

Bea Griffore

Cristine and Ruth, so glad both of you were watching so I had good company! I think you both got the IDs correct. WTG! I missed seeing Justice turning around on the branch.

Empty nest again now and the sun is shining. Another windy day today but calmer than yesterday.

JO? JO? Are you there?

Cherrycarol

I hear them.6:30 pm central time, Nest time!

Cherrycarol

As of 7 a No Show tonight. In the nest anyway.

Cristine

12:30 Central - Just checking. I see the camera is off-line. Has it been like that all day?

Annette Kryske

4:22 PM PDT Hi Folks. The Cam is on, everything seems to be working. I hear a dog barking in the distance. No Eagles today, but was happy to see Justice yesterday. He looks huge. We have been busy watching 2 baby Ostriches come out of their shells. It is so beautiful to see, almost as beautiful as our Glory and Honor, and Faith, Hope and Spirit last year.We Eagleholics are so lucky to be able to view such wonderful things of nature, aren't we? Have a great evening folks and SED.

Cherrycarol

6:45 pm. Both landed in the nest for awhile.

Jo

Beamg, you've confuzzled me royally on the times LOL but that's ok, I'll catch 'em sooner or later!

Bea Giffore, if you're not the same as Beamg I wasn't on at 10:30pm on the 12th, I was on hatch watch waiting for three ostritch eggies to hatch! http://www.ustream.tv/channel/ostrich-egg-cam-live has three adorable new hatchlings: Popcorn, Skippy and Rascal all finally hatched on 10 13 13
You all need to stop in to check 'em out! You'll love 'em!
Sorry I missed our L or J but it was worth it to watch all three eggs hatch!
Hope to see L & J before I go to bed in a few minutes but it probably won't happen 'cause the nest still looks pretty dark. I'm missing my eagles tho!
Have a great day all!
Jo

6:45 CST Liberty and Justice were both in the nest with the rising sun gently bathing them in the most beautiful light. They alternatively worked together to arrange some nesting materials and rested, looking casually around in response to the peaceful early morning sounds of nature. They left about 7:00 am CST. It was such a pleasure getting to see them. Those who have missed them - you will soon get that opportunity and it will be worth all of the waiting. Thank you Mr. John and Alcoa!! I just cannot tell you how very much this opportunity to watch these two magnificent creatures has meant to me - my words are not adequate.

Bea Griffore

Good morning everyone!

Cheryl, so glad you got to see L & J this morning. Aren't they awesome? I got up about the time they were in the nest and I'm just getting here now. Sunny day with a train going by and birds singing.

Jo, I was watching those ostrich eggs hatch yesterday too! Aren't they adorable? I missed the 3rd one however and need to check them this morning. Yes, I am both beamg and Bea Griffore. I think that was the day I forgot to sign in using FB. Sorry for the confusion. Sounds like I had aleady confused you with the different times we are dealing with here. Too funny! Yes, you will see L & J sooner or later.

Have a good day all!

Cherrycarol

Jo

LOL I'm no longer sure when to come in to see them so I come in when I can. I'll catch them sooner or later. Good to know Beamg and Bea are one and the same ;) Usually, I'm sleeping around the time they come in in the morning so I probably won't catch them at the morning watch. I might be able to see them in the early evening tho...if I can time it right :P Y'all have a great day!
Jo

Definitely consider that which you said. Your favourite justification appeared to be at the internet the easiest factor tto understand of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed whilst people think about concerns that they plainly don't recognize about. You managed to hit the nail upon the highest and also outlined out the whole thing with no need side-effects , other people could take a signal. Will likely be again to get more. Thank you

jody thieken

Where is the music coming from that I hear?

Dennis Kwiecien
