Mavis

Greg...you crack me up. We used a lot of names...Wee One was the first...and the one we seem to always come back to. Pee Wee...Little One...Big Foot (a couple of times)...Judy's Big Bertha...but Wee One just sticks nicely...especially with the "we won" attached to the meaning.

Thin grosbeaks?? They were nice and fat here. Wonder if they flew past Denny's house. I put a feeder of just black oil sunflower seed out next to the mixed seed feeder...they never touched the sunflower feeder. They did cling to that mixed seed/fruit bell that I hung...that was fun to watch them nibble that thing down to nothing...they left here nice and fat!

Judith Hart

I wrote something to Bea and it ended up in the last thread. I'll copy it here.

Bea, The storms are heading my way, I think Amber is about to get them now in TN.

I think the Rose breasted Grosbeaks visited Mavis before they came up here. She feeds empty sunflower seeds.
I mix my own seed, black oil sunflower, sunflower kernels, nuts, dried fruit, nyjer, dried mealworms and safflower. Then I make my own suet cakes.

Jassy

ITS THE WEE ONE that one!!!!

Let the media crap ppl do what they want, we have our own little band here on these forums and I look forward to next year

the results SUCKS AND SHAME ON ALCOA FOR GOING ALONG WITH THAT CRAP!

THE WEE ONE NAME WON!

Now time to keep the Wee one on my screen for the meeting LOL
WOOOT!!

LOL Mavis! You crack me up!

Wendy

Poor fish is still thrashing while Liberty tears off pieces for Wee One.

Jassy

omgggg I had no clue they brought in other birds in the nest??? is this normal?? LOL

Judith Hart

Something just delivered to the nest, can't tell what. Maybe another duckling. Liberty, I think, blocking the view.

Debbie Duncan

I understand the Citizens of Davenports' desire to name this bird after a fallen officer but the methods they used to attain over 3 Million Votes does not speak well at all. They should channel all of their energy and push for naming a Bridge, School, Park or Greenway after Officer Rudy---its much more visible and permanent. Rudy will fly away soon and do what Eagles do, be a Bird Of Prey.

Mavis

Hallelujah! The wind has calmed down and both parents on the nest...well...technically one is on the A-limb. Wee One is calling out for more food, which, I think Lib, is trying to keep up with her cries for more!

Maybe the nest can dry out now...i hear other birds out chirping...maybe the day will get better.

Cristine

Rudy it is. Good morning all! Mavis... you are right, I think Wee One was used from the beginning, and probably will continue to be used. I love the double meaning :) You did good, Gregory!

So wonderful to hear from all this morning already. (Mavis, Carol, Judith, Jassy, Bea and Gregory) I pray today is a better day than yesterday. I went to bed with a sick feeling in my stomach with the loss of little Skye form MN Bound and then the horrible destruction from the deadly tornadoes down South. We may have bad weather here at the nest later this afternoon. I hope Liberty doesn't have to go through again what we witnessed yesterday.

Sounds like the "Little Peeper" is turning into the "Little Squealer". She is being fed by Liberty while Justice has jumped on the Alcoa branch to watch the action down below. Another fish was brought in just before this. I wonder if they are beginning to stockpile for the week ahead.

Have a great Monday everyone. Stay safe.

Jassy

I really wish we had likes on comments.. Well said Debbie!

Jo Ann

Thank you Alcoa for giving us this opportunity to get to know Liberty and Justice and for allowing all of us in Alcoaland whereever we live, to view this wonderful family. I personally love the name Rudy, but, I would have been happy with any of the name choices. I am just thankful they made it through all the storms yesterday and last night. I was worried about it last night. Again, I can't thank Alcoa enough for getting myself and my family interested in viewing this sight and a few others. Alcoa is always the first one I look at each day and where I feel most connected. Have a great day eagle watchers, everywhere.

Judith Hart

Another nest delivery, plant material....

BHappel

The voting process did not work this time. It needs to be fixed. Also the media got involved with suggestions and they should have stayed out of it. Congratuations on the new name. Hopefully it was the peoples' choice.

gregory

ALCOA did what they had to do. I would have done the same thing and I mean this. when one sets the parameters for a vote--you have to honor it--even if some one figures out how to skirt around them. BUT you know better next time and you can bet MR John is scratching his head. there is no way he will let it happen again. he is on our side but what can he do. I find no blame with ALCOA. not one tiny bit.

Cheryl R

Good morning all, I have to say I'm more than a little disappointed in the choice of the name, only because Alcoa allowed their system to be manipulated and then rewarded those who did. That doesn't say integrity to me.

I along with other regulars will use Wee One, or maybe throw in a L'il Bit from time to time.

We have a good chance or severe weather by me this afternoon. I'm praying those storms dissipate soon.

Mavis, did you get to view the video of the grosbeak? My comment showed up right after a new thread so I wasn't sure if you saw it.

I hope the nest gets to dry out a little today.

Judith Hart

The plant material had something edible hidden inside it...also see the duckling.

Coleen Perilloux Landry

It is over, people. Enjoy the little bird! We in Louisiana are getting ready for severe weather and I know that my 7 eagles, four parents and 3 fledglings will be safe in their nests because we've had a few bad ones in the past few months and they've fared well. Their nests are deep and the moss linings seem to help, too.
Now, I must go check on that poor pair in MN who were pelted with hail last night. It was heartbreaking to see her covering her babies, including the little dead one, and putting her head out of the way of the hail.

Jassy

ooo I hope you arent getting sick Cristine! I just had 2 weeks of the acute bronchitis and I thought my chest was going to cave in.. LOL

A lot of warm tea for me these last few weeks but its worth it..

Now I feel somewhat normal and that is a great thing..
I am so happy the birds are safe for the storms and we have a few more nastier storms coming in.. I really worry about the babies :-))

Mavis

Cheryl...I have not been back to your FB page but will go now. I want to see the grosbeak video...

Greg...you are right on a lot of points except for one flaw...

Mr. John..integrity is one of the highest...if not THE highest virtue that can be had. Almost all things fall under virtue. The one flaw...for ME...is your statement, "...(we had said people could vote as often as they like)..."
We...living, breathing, humans, are P E O P L E...not the machines. You equated us with the machines (that were built by people). It is true, Rudy, and actually Skylar, were the top contenders for 2 days...when the machine kicked it...it became Rudy and Patriot...then Patriot and Rudy. The actual vote out of over 6 million, that were cast by PEOPLE, were probably, given past voting records, not more than 2 to 3 hundred thousand. Rudy was way ahead by 51% before the machine kicked in...and probably would have won on it's own on a level and fair playing field. Skylar may have come in second. We will never know that now. That is the big flaw...we were not told who the players were...and they were not just people.

I am not under anyone's command...I'll "get over it" when I get over it.

I woke up "over it" until I read your comment. NOW, I am over it.

Y'all...have at me...I just had to say what I felt. I am better than a machine..I can think..and decide...the machine was programmed.

Mavis

P.S.

What I forgot to say...Wee One just will not "fill up". I think she is trying to get that crop full to weigh her down for the next wind storm. Looked like Liberty gave up on filling her up...so, she tried eating on her own...absolutely cute.

Judith Hart

Does anyone in the Davenport area know if the Canada Geese Goslings are hatching now? Guess we'll be seeing more little yellow thingys land in the nest.

Took a look at the MNBound nest, it sure looks like hail falling, every so often I'll see a moth ball fly by and bounce. I've never seen hail fall for so long before. Where is that nest, it says South Central MN, but exactly where is it?

Coleen Perilloux Landry

I just saw the mother in Minnesota remove her dead baby from the nest bowl while the father sheltered the other two. So sad. Amazing how intelligent the eagles are. It is still awful weather there and it is either sleet or hail that is falling intermittently.
And, I see that Liberty and Justice have left their babe by itself and giving the nest a chance to air out, too.

Coleen Perilloux Landry

I keep talking about the Minnesota eagles and someone asked me for the link. At the moment, the two parents are on the nest, just having buried, a few minutes ago, their third born who was probably too little to withstand the storms of last week. http//mnbound.com/live-eagle-cam/

Mavis

Judy....all I could find is somewhere along Crow River. They sure don't give out much info on the MN Bound nest.

Cheryl, I saw that video. Thanks...was a nice and plump RBG (grosbeak).

Jassy, L and J bring in a lot of birds after hatchings. I read somewhere that they bring in a variety of food to teach the young ones the foods that they may have to hunt for when fish are not plentiful. When babies are not in the nest,...L and J usually bring only fish to the nest.

Judith Hart

Went to the MNDNR nest, they are all drenched, parents and little ones.....Not Good!
http://www.webcams.dnr.state.mn.us/eagle/

Cristine

One parent just flew in, hovering like a helicopter before landing, while the other parent jumped to the Alcoa branch. The Wee One is getting fed yet again. Sometimes it's good that a parent is blocking the view as it's difficult to watch what they are being fed. The little ducklings really disturb me :(

Judith... that MN Bound nest is 50 mi. West of Minneapolis, someone said on the chat yesterday. I have never seen so much hail fall for such a long period of time either as I did yesterday watching that nest. I can't believe they are getting it again today. That poor mother. I watched yesterday as she covered poor little Skye with straw and grass. Coleen, thanks for the heads-up about what happened today. I just haven't been able to go to that nest yet today.

Joyce

All I can say is "RudyPatooty" My last humbug.
Mr John will get this whole thing fixed for next year. I still love to watch our little WeWon eat her lttle heart out. I say this fuzz ball is a girl. Very demanding and she get's what she wants. Hang on "nester's". Love to read all of the comments, and Mavis you are right on. So let's celebrate our baby and forget this whole mess. Onward and upward. Joyce in sunny Caleefornya(Arnold speak)

Jassy

ooooooo that is sooo sad that baby died...breaks my heart..

that is soo neat Mavis thank you for sharing that.. I did not know the cams went on after the babies left LOL I thought once the babies leave they turn off the cams for the season..
You are awesome!

Mavis

Jassy, Alcoa keeps their cams up and going 24/7/365. This year we have 2 cams and am not sure they will keep both up and running after the season. I don't think they have said yet.

Around Nov, L and J start frequenting the nest more often...doing nestorations and sometimes hold picnics there. The comment page stays up and as someone drops by..they sometimes leave a comment for the next visitor to read. We get into serious watching shortly after Christmas...the nest restores our sanity after the holiday rush.

Alcoa does a lot for us...and more importantly, they seem to take good care of all the animals and birds that habitat on their land.

Darlene Nichols

........good morning all (well technically its not morning anymore).......we got pounded by thunderstorms and heavy rain overnight but no tornado type things......we still have today and tomorrow to get thru, however.....we're still in the "severe" zone. Enough ---I pray for the poor souls in the Midwest where the real devastation occurred.

I'm so glad the naming fiasco is over !!!.....and Mavis, your comment about machine vs. man is very appropriate.

The other eagle nests as well as our Alcoa one have -and are still - taken a pounding. The rain and hail are the pitts but the wind worries me more having already seen Liberty tumbled over......its quite heartbreaking to see both parents huddled side by side to protect the babies.....I'm finished rambling.....you all have observed the same things......I suppose I'm just glad we all survived......take care those of you still in the line of fire !

gregory

MAVIS--
you are right. I thought that was what I was saying. my post was at 10-37 am. I think you mixed me up with someone elses post. I went back to my post to be sure and I don't see that I wrote those things. sorry about the confusion.

Cristine

The NWS has issued a Tornado Watch for the entire Q.C. area until 7:00 P.M. The weather could get very bumpy again later this afternoon :(

Denny

The Berry nest is line for those storms late tonight and tomorrow morning.Including high wind, rain, possibly hail and tornados

Cherrycarol

Jassy, also this year we had thousands of other eagles here & you could see them in & around the nest. I live here & it was an awesome site to see 100's of them in one place together. The wind will blow u away today. Not many people even out & about. More storms ugg! Carol

Judith Hart

You're right Denny, there's a line of tornados heading toward Rome, GA....that's where the Berry College nest is. They have alerts up for the area.
I wonder if the Berry baby could fly yet?
Horrible weather heading Eastward, scary.
Amber, are you okay in TN.

amberdawn

I am sorry but I can't resist saying this. I wanted to earlier but didn't because I didn't want to insult...... but here goes, Jassy, let's keep it classy. Your posts have just seemed particularly nasty. I know I may get blasted for saying this, and I know everyone (myself included)is upset, but one can voice his or her opinion while still being respectful.

Judith, yes we've had storms today in TN but we have been lucky in our particular area and have dodged the bullet so far. We won't be so lucky tonight, though. Closet is cleaned out and ready to go. Wish I had a basement.

amberdawn

Hey! Just saw your last post. Thank you for asking! I always HATE these storms. I feel so badly for the folks in Arkansas and the other places that have seen storms.

Judith Hart

Amberdawn, looks bad where you are now!

amberdawn

I meant to reference Judith in my last post.... Judith, that one was to you :)

Mavis

Carol...was just watching the nest and Liberty bounce around some more. Glad Wee One got his crop full earlier...might be a while before she gets fed again. She was left alone for a few minutes a little while ago..she did not even try to come out of the nest bowl, but you could see her head pop up and look around.

Lib is still in the "storm stand". It won't take much more to topple her over. I don't know how they hold up doing this all day...I would be worn out.

Cherrycarol

She just got fed again. Must be making up for yesterday. THUNDER!! Here it comes again! At least wee one is full! Or should we call it Rudy. She won't be a wee one for long. Thanks Alcoa for all you do & I know you will figure out something better for next year.

Mavis

Amber..I just saw your post...hope you come through this storm ok.

Going to check on Berry..

Cherrycarol

Hailing!

amberdawn

I just checked on Berry as well. He looks like he wants to fly so badly. Hope he doesn't pick today to try! I think he is hungry. He keeps picking plant material from the nest.

The rain is JUST beginning to fall here. I'll keep y'all posted.

Denny

The local weatherman says it not going to get to the Atlanta area til midnight with the worst coming at rush hour.I have all my hatches batten down..

Cristine

Severe thunderstorm warning now for us, until 5:30 nest time. Hang on everyone. It's going to be a wild ride! Going to check all of the nests and get my husband, the Farmer, inside.

Skedaddle

What is the link for the "Berry" cam? Someone?
Last night i found myself eating stuff I really didn't want because I knew "Rudy" must be hungry! Didn't help either one of us!

Denny

Last year was it this nest where mom got turned on her beak form the wind catching her tail and almost blowing her out of the nest or was it the MNBound nest.

Cheryl R

I watched an afternoon feeding earlier. Justice was on the edge and Liberty was feeding Little One. Justice kept shyly putting his head over towards Liberty as she was getting a bite of fish ready. He really wanted her to give him a bite, but she was having none of that. Poor guy.

Judith Hart

Skedaddle.....Berry nest
http://www.berry.edu/eaglecam/

Cristine

Denny...... Yes, it was this nest and it was Liberty. Several of us were watching it live, and it was terrifying. She was completely vertical on the nest. I've never seen anything like it, and will never forget it.

Judith Hart

The umbrella just opened on our nest!

amberdawn

Went to check but showed both cams offline :(

John L.

Oooo, I don't like both cameras going off line at once! Is there lightning in the area with this storm?

John L.

Some storm cells approaching from the south. May get rough again this evening.

Denny

I remember see it happen but coundn't remember which nest. Has she learned her lesson and sit with her beak to the wind?

Cristine

The severe storm has moved through our area here SE of Q.C., and is probably hitting the nest right now. We got some lightning and heavy rain, but escaped the high winds and hail. Hope the nest is O.K. Wish the cameras didn't go offline :(

Denny

my spelling is awful.. slow down and proof read it then post

Coleen Perilloux Landry

My suppertime check showed the Decorah nest relatively calm with the mom being off the bowl and the three eaglets airing out. The MNBound nest is blustery but no precipitation at the moment, looks very cold and she is covering those little birds. This morning the weather was so bad at MNBound that one of the birds was practically flipped over, then bounced up and down until its talons took hold in the nest. The Berry nest shows dryness and that poor eaglet walking around that bare nest; don't know what it will do when the storm winds hit it, it does seem like such a pitiful little bird. Alcoa Davenport is offline but I know that Liberty is taking care of her eaglet. Hang tight everyone, we are in for a wild night.

Denny

Berry mom will more than likely be on the nest with the young one if the weather gets rough.

Cristine

Wasn't it the Berry mom that had the hurt leg earlier in the season? Is she O.K. now? I haven't seen her for a very long time. That little eagle always looks so sad and forlorn :(

amberdawn

Tornadoes tracking towards us. Keep your fingers crossed that all will be well for our area. BIG LIGHTENING!

Cherrycarol

Christine I saw mom with it yesterday. First time in awhile. I bet the power is off at Alcoa. Had some lightning. O Darn! :(

Cristine

Get to your closet amberdawn! Praying you will be safe!

Denny

Yes it was Berry mon with the hurt leg now she's missing one or two toes, but doing fine

Judith Hart

Cams up

Mavis

Liberty is so wet that she had to get up and shake off...drenched! Wee One did not budge from the nest bowl.

Judith Hart

Wonder what that white thing is in the nest?
Looks like a half eaten sub!

R L ML

A long fish feeding shortly after the Mavis' post. Parent flew off for a couple minutes and the one flying in decided to try to finish the
fish off. Didn't get back on Rudy, probably letting the nest dry out a bit.

amberdawn

Just letting everyone know all is well. Still lots of lightening but the tornado stayed south. Cristine, you should have seen us in there with the cats and dogs! We were a motley crew.

amberdawn

Sorry.... in reference to my last post, "there" referred to the closet.

Denny

Mavis; just saw ym first Rose Breasted Grosbeaks (2) of the year, Been seeing females for a couple of days

Mavis

I guess that is Lib on the nest...other parent flew off. Wee One got a few more big bites of food before Lib went to the nest bowl to cover her. It was funny...Wee One looked around...rain must be coming because suddenly she put her head down and under Mom's front skirt. Mom was digging to open some drain holes when I saw that cute head peeking out from Mom's tail feathers! Both parents are wet to the skin...but Wee One appears to have stayed dry.

Wind seems to have died down...that is good...

Mavis

Amberdawn...thanks for letting us know that that you made it through the worse of the storm ok

Cristine

Thank goodness you are all right, amberdawn. I was worried when we didn't hear back from you :) Exactly how many animals did you have in that closet with you?

Mavis

That baby at Berry is laying down and is alone on the nest. I figure he/she is about 9 and 1/2 weeks old. Will probably be another 3 weeks before he is ready to fledge.

Denny, I hope you are right...Mom or Dad will keep the little fella company if or when the storm moves in. I have watched him alone during a storm and it wasn't easy to watch.

Bobby Logan

Rudy? Seriously? I take it Bob, Jim or John would've been too flashy?

Cherrycarol

Looks like it will be a calm night. thank goodness.

Cristine

All is nice and still at the nest. Get to hear all of the lovely night sounds as dark settles in.

Judith Hart

I guess it could have been Jim Bob-

Cristine

Anyone....do you think that little one in the Berry nest is old enough to know how to hold on with his talons?

Mavis

Cristine...they are between 5 to 7 weeks old before they can stand straight up...the leg muscles are still developing and are too weak until about 5 to 7 weeks. They can "lock down" after that...but legs are still kind of week. The Berry eaglet is almost 10 weeks...he can stand now without problem and can "lock down" if he wants.

I thiink it was at SWF nest where the two eaglets slept standing on the edge of the nest, locked down, at about 10 to 11 weeks of age. Was a scary thing to watch..but they did fine.

Mavis

w e a k ....NOT week!! Dang it...I usually don't correct my mistakes...but some of them make me shiver!!

Mavis

Bobby Logan...Rudy was a very special hometown man of Davenport, IA (home of the Aloca eagles). Rudy died a couple of months ago and members of his town launched a campaign to name the eaglet in memory of him.

It seems to have stopped raining at the nest right now. Liberty is still wet, but appears to be drying out some. Wee One is laying half out and half under her..I hear the tree frogs...maybe things will be better for a while.

Cristine

Thanks, Mavis. That makes me feel a lot better about the little Berry eagle being able to weather a storm by himself. And it also gives me something to watch for with our own "Wee One" in the coming weeks.

Mavis

Denny....you have the grosbeaks now? Great! Are they fat? If they are, they probably came from my yard! Judy has skinny ones at her home.

I think my females left yesterday. Strange the males and females do not travel together. I wonder why.

Glad they made it...they should brighten up your rainy, dreary, night!!

amberdawn

WOW. Just heard the tornado passing overhead from our safe place. Thank goodness it didn't touch down.

Plus, looks like we are in the clear for the rest of the night. Hope everyone is safe out there.

Good night, all.

Mavis

Goodnight??? Gosh, Amber...I would have so much adrenalin flowing, I probably wouldn't sleep for a week if a tornado passed over my house! Oh my! Sure glad you are ok...and your neighbors.

Goodnight...sleep good.

amberdawn

Cristine, just saw your earlier post. We have 4 cats and two dogs, but only two of the cats will tolerate being in our safe place. So, two people, two dogs, and two cats! Makes me smile to think about it in spite of the pounding heartbeat I had!

Cristine

Just heard the coyotes. Liberty all tucked in.

Cristine

It makes me smile too, amberdawn :)

Goodnight. Meet you all at the nest tomorrow.

Mavis

7:00 AM EDT

Just checking on the nests...Berry baby still all alone and soaking wet. No one on the nest to talk to, cuddle up against, reassure, or put an unbrella over him. Not a bite to eat...nest is clean as a whistle..he just lays there in the rain. Doesn't even cry out. For me, it is sad to watch one so alone. I'm sure parents are close by somewhere but there seems to be no bonding on that nest. I suppose the way parents raise their young is a duplicate of the way they were raised....but such a contrast to L and J.

Our Wee One was totally under Mom this morning except for the tiny tail feathers that are poking through now...they were hanging in the rain. Mom is wet but Wee One is dry. They are up now and she is squealing for food. Lib can't feed that food machine fast enough. I hear other bird chatter and frogs. Morning has come and they are all waking up now...and the night critters are going to bed. I hear the geese now...

Good morning

Cherrycarol

Good morning. Weather man said the rain is over for today. They should dry out today.Only 44 now. Have to get ready for work. Have a slow day for hair but tanning is busy. I'll be watching from work. Carol

Jassy

Cherry- That is sooo awesome!!!!!

amberdawn- No hurt feelings on my end at all... of me feeling insulted at all and No I do NOT get insulted ever ( I was married to a trucker for over 15 yrs LOL and was a truck stop waitress, my talk may "seem" a bit "tough or rough" but I am the least tactful, politically
IN-correct person, and very blunt, un-sugar coated person you may know here on the forums, I say it how it is as how I feel it is just me, but if i have had made a mistake I will apologize always if someone took things the wrong way I am not too big to apologize and ask forgiveness at all..I have a tough back.. the words chosen, I do have to watch sometimes but in regards to that it is me :-))

Thank you Mavis!!! I thought it came through on the other older posts but I guess I never got the captcha right...

The media has stopped on the name which is great!!! I know Alcoa will be very diligent next year for the votiing and change so it doesn't happen.. Out of all the years before I never knew the voting to be so "messed up" Next year I know it will be better.. it was never to go out of control that bad.

This morning as I checked in, its so nice to see the wee one lil bit eating..
The Wee One is sooo adorable, I just can't believe how big he/she is giving, I wish we could know the sex, like look under the tail or something, but I know nothing about these birds on how to tell sexes LOLOL

Cherrycarol

Jassy The only way to tell there sex is a blood test when they are inmature. Dacorah takes one eaglet a year & checks it & puts a transmitter on it.

Cherrycarol

Boy Rudy's feathers are really coming in now!

amberdawn

Mavis, I didn't mean to ignore your posts last night. Thanks for keeping an eye on me!There was plenty of adrenaline indeed after the storm, so much so that all the excitement gave me a headache.

My husband was still up watching coverage, so I knew he'd let me know if I needed to wake up.

Jassy, I was already feeling regretful over my words to you.... what do I know about class? I'm just a southern girl ... lol.

I have to say, though, your reply was all class!

P.S. Waitresses are tough. I was one at a Cracker Barrel all the way through college. NOT an easy job.

beamg

Good morning everyone!

I hope the weatherman is correct that the rain is done for today. It gets rather depressing not seeing the sun! And I'm really glad so many of you have checked in and are ok after having the storms pass through your areas. That's a big thing to be thankful for - we are all ok today!

Judith, I didn't see that anyone answered you about Canada geese and babies this time of year. 2 years ago I was across the river from the nest and got pics of some of those geese on the river with their babies - April 21, 2012 - so, yes they have their babies now. I remember coming back home that day, checking out the nest online and oh dear there was a gosling in the nest. I had to walk away wondering if it was one I had taken a picture of that day.

Also, Judith, sounds like you have a gourmet meal you put out for the grosbeaks! Still waiting for them here in Iowa.

Who's on the A branch? In the TTV I can see PR (Patriot Rudy) in the nest bowl just taking it easy.

Well, hmmmmm, weatherman is wrong. It's raining again at my house west of the nest. I know April showers bring May flowers but they need sun too! Oh well, we do need the rain and at least it's the nice slow kind that can sink in and do some good.

It was fun catching up on the reading again this morning. Who needs a book when you can read so much here? Love it! Time to get on with the day. Happy viewing everyone!

Judith Hart

The storm this morning hit my area in the Mts at 3:30AM, the first strike, just about blew me out of bed. The lightning was almost constant until after 5:00AM with hail. We all headed downstairs with all my trembling dogs.
I turned on the weather channel, I think everyone was asleep...no info...went to the NWS and saw the dreaded red blob right over my area.
I hope today is peaceful for all!

beamg

Judith, so glad you're ok after the storm last night. I too hope all is peaceful today.

And I hope the nest has a chance to dry out today. Nothing fun about a soggy bed but it doesn't seem to bother the eagle family.
