I am sooo excited we are going to have baby very soon!!!!!!!

R L ML

Thanks for the update as well as everything you do for all of us. I see the viewer count on the nest going up so more are watching today.

Mavis

Cristine...it looked just slightly larger...maybe the size of a butterpea...or pinto bean. It is coming along. I'll email you a picture.

Is that a train I hear screeching??

Darlene Nichols

.....the cradle is already rocking.......

Cristine

Oh, a pinto bean! Thanks, Mavis! I think those were the sirens you heard. They go off everywhere at 10:00 on the first Tuesday of every month.

Bea Griffore

Today is my youngest sister's b-day. I PM'd her to watch for an eaglet for her b-day present. She is the person who got me started on watching eagle cams in the 1st place so this would be a nice payback for her tip.

Darlene - you got that cradle rocking right! I hope they don't get blown out of the nest but also hope they let us peek in once in a while.

Annette Kryske

8:48 AM PDT. I feel the labor pains already!!!If this is correct, I will deliver tonight.(joke) That is what I think will happen in our nest. It seems we have been waiting so long for this day. On Feb. 22. the egg first showed up.That really isn't too long ago.Let us all be patient, though we are truly excited.

Mavis

Darlene...I love the rocking cradle...but hate that wind! I've been rocking with them for hours...getting slightly dizzy.

Annette..first laid egg was on Judy's birthday...Feb 23rd. Today is day 37 since it was laid. Last year, both eggs hatched on their 37th day, so this one is right on track!

Got a nice picture of the unpipped side of the egg...but caught a glimpse of the pip before it was turned ...looked bigger (longer). I'm predicting by 6 this evening. Anyone else??

Joyce

May the world enjoy watching Mother Nature at her best. God Bless America and her symbol of our hopes and dreams. Gosh, I get all goosepimpily watching. I just wish the winds would calm so the little one could come out from under the wings. Hang on Birdies.

Mavis

Ok...I cannot get on the eagle cam...the "play" arrow will not display. Please tell me it is only me and you all can get on...

I heard the Decorah baby just now...it's pip size is about the same as ours

Mavis

If this is an April Fools joke...it ain't funny! I cannot get the eagle cam to display the "play" arrow...what is going on? Hello??

Judith Hart

No, we can't get on, the feed is frozen.

Mavis

Hey, Judy...at least I have someone to freak out with!!

Judith Hart

All I get is the pinwheel.....Watch out, I'm starting to get GRUMPY!

Mavis

Not fair...how did you get a pinwheel? I just get a dark screen...and I can see both nest views behind the dark screen. Bet everyone is at lunch...you have my permission to get grumpy!

Judith Hart

You get a dark screen on the Ipad, pinwheel on the computer.

R L ML

Two fish on the nest also awaiting the new arrival.

Judith Hart

What a nice welcome gift for the little one. Such fantastic parents!

Mavis

No WAY! No darn way! I sit here all this time to see the egg...as soon as she was getting up and I was ready to snap a picture...I had to refresh!!! No darn way!! This happens too many times at just the moment I was waiting for! No way! That is not a good April Fool's joke!!

Did anyone see the pip?

Mavis

Looks like that one feather that continues to stand up will break off and fly away! I'm still so mad at the cam making me refresh just at the moment I was going to get to see the egg. It is just unbelievable!

Judith Hart

Could it be possible when she just moved the egg, I heard some chirps and cheeps?

Joyce

Hey, everyone take a chill pill. There is nothing we can do, except pray for a healthy chick. Stay close and have a Bloody Mary. For a little California story, had a wild turkey on my deck this am taking advantage of some bird seed I put out for my little nuthatches. Now that could be an April Fools story, but it's real. Lot's of snow here today in the Sierra's.

Mavis

Could be, Judy....I heard the same thing at the Decorah nest earlier...and I know it was coming from the pipped egg.

Did you see the pip?

Judith Hart

L and J just switched places, I think Justice is sitting now, they're so excited. The pip is slightly larger.

Mavis, Joyce sent you a message. She had a Bloody Mary and a Wild Turkey on her deck...was it the drink or the bird?:)

I think Liberty and Justice are beginning their spring moult or molt.

Judith Hart

Justice just arrived with another fish, so that's Liberty sitting.

Bea Griffore

Wow it's still so darn windy it's hard to get good focus. Just saw a roll and the pip looked bigger. Couldn't get a screen shot with the bouncing cam/nest making things too blurry.

Cherrycarol

I was having the same trouble with the spinning circle at the salon.Trying to show my customers. I thought it was my computer or the wind or Mediacom. All is good now. Then when I got it back on poof 2 fish. Looks like somebody ate some of it.

Judith Hart

The wind finally seems to be calming down slightly. For a minute there I didn't hear it at all.

Joyce

I love the idea of Wild turkey, but it was a real bird. Only Vodka for me.Still watching the nest. Slow going.

Julie

damn too many people are on the cam and its crashing! LOLOL over 300ppl on now and it won't work LOL

Judith Hart

Great shot of the egg, but the smooth side was up....little rascal was standing on his head.

Coleen Perilloux Landry

Such an exciting time. Someone from Scotland sent me a photo of his ewe with two lambs born today. Springtime, birth, new life. Bless Liberty and Justice and hope the new babe is healthy.

Mavis

Joyce, I already chilled out. Was sitting here with one of the pups in my lap and fell sound asleep. Was a needed nap...I got up way too early this morning. I'm ready to go now...was just catching up with the posts.

Cristine must have enjoyed the wild turkey as I don't see where she posted lately.

Got to go ride that wind some more...bbl

Jamie Keenan

Wow!!! So excited! Just sitting here relaxing watching our mama and she got up to move around and got a great view of our little eaglet trying to make its way into this world!!!

Jamie Keenan

I just took two screenshots! Liberty off the egg and changing of the guard. How do I post them???

Mavis

Jamie...if you tweet...you can post #alcoaeaglecam. I don't know how to tweet...

If you have a FB account...you can friend request Nesters Nest and join our OT group...we post a lot of pictures from here and other eagle cams. There are other ways to upload your pictures to other photo sites and link it here but I don't know how to do this.

News ALERT: 8.0 earthquake just hit off the Chilean coast.

Cherrycarol

Jamie you can't post them on here. Twitter u can. & facebook is all I know how to do. I don't know how to do twitter just no u can. I've been gone how big is the pip now?

Cherrycarol

Hopefully we have a baby by morning. But it has a long way to go. The lAST one I watched it took 3 days, at least I think it was from start to being out. AFE in Dollywood lost there first born today. Sad news. But they have 2 others. That's good.

Liz Barrett

Watched last years three eaglets from hatching to fledging....so excited about a new member of the Liberty/Justice clan! Ill check in the morning for cheeps.

Cristine

Finally checking back in! So glad I haven't missed the big event by being gone so much today and tonight. Mavis, thanks for missing me! No Wild Turkey, but I DID have a margarita at my sister-in-law's birthday party at a Mexican restaurant :) That will do the trick. Liberty looks all settled in for the night. Noticing the night lights on under the nest tonight.

Coleen Perilloux Landry

Liberty is sleeping right now and the wind has calmed some. Let's hope she gets a good night's rest. Bless her.

Betsy Abernethy

Is this bird ok? Looks as tho she is on her side?

Cristine

Liberty's O.K. Betsy. I think it's just the camera angle that make her look like that. She's just all snuggled in over that egg :)

Bea Griffore

Liberty is awake! Wonder if the eaglet is trying hard to hatch right now. I need to go to bed but think I have to watch a while now. It's so quiet right now.

Cristine, I'm glad too you didn't miss the big event. I sure wanted today to be the day but then I would have missed it too.

The viewer count sure is down, only 43 right now. I saw over 300 earlier today. I imagine there will be a lot more tomorrow.

Mavis

Ok...my feed keeps freezing every few seconds. Will not start back unless I refresh...plays for a few seconds and the whole thing freezes again. The sound stays on but the picture freezes. Been refreshing constantly for over an hour. I do not know what the problem is...but I have a feeling Mediacom cannot handle the volume...just a guess. It is not the speed of my internet...I can stream other cams, tv shows, etc., without a problem. Maybe tomorrow will be better...I hope. I remember this happening last year...frustrating. OTOH...I'm glad a lot of people are watching...I love this nest.

Cristine

Hi Bea! I know what you mean about wanting to go to bed! No way am I going to be able to stay up and watch as late as I did last night. But I just don't want to miss anything :) I think with the extra light tonight we might actually be able to see something. What is that strange, strange noise I hear at the nest? Liberty acts like she is listening to it, too. Eerie sounding.

Bea Griffore

Cristine, I'm hearing sirens right now and the music. And the train. Not sure I know what strange sound you are hearing. I think I also hear traffic sounds?

Mavis, I'm getting a pretty good feed right now and it's been that way for an hour - no freezing up. Liberty is sitting so still but I don't think it's frozen.

Cristine

Well, now I am just hearing sirens and a firetruck honking..... And then there's the train. Nice that the wind has died down so we can hear all of the night sounds.

Mavis... I am so sorry you are having troubles :( That is so frustrating! Hang in there.

Bea Griffore

Yikes, sirens very close! Liberty turned her head quickly!

Bea Griffore

Liberty just did an egg roll - I heard little peeps!!!

Bea Griffore

Cristine, are you still up? I just heard an eerie sound but then it sounded like a jet going over???

Bea Griffore

Ok, nothing worse than talking to yourself in the middle of the night. I'm going to bed folks. Guess I'll see in the morning if anything happened.

SED

Cristine

No, no Bea! You aren't talking to yourself. I am still here for a while. Going to watch the 10:00 news, and continue to watch Liberty. Yes. I did hear that eerie sound again. Maybe you are right and it was a jet going over.

Cristine

Liberty is "tucked in", doing some deep sleeping.

Mavis

11:49 PM EDT

I'm still up, girls...was just catching up with some other stuff. The feed is working ok now. Sure does get frustrating some times.

I didn't hear what you all heard. Hope everything is ok. The wind is NOT blowing on the nest! Hallelujah!! One last peaceful night before Little One arrives. Tomorrow should be exciting. I'm looking forward to it.

Goodnight all

Cristine

Liberty woke up. Did a little middle-of-the-night preening, changed position and did an egg roll. Waiting....waiting...waiting.

Bea Griffore

4-2-14 6:04am EDT Liberty up and doing a roll. I heard that peep again right after the train whistle! I think it was a roll - my view was kind of blocked so couldn't see for sure. This is going to be such an exciting day!

Oh, Good Morning All! Viewer count 13 so at least I'm not alone at the nest.

Sherry Parsons

I'm here this am as well. I'm Sherry from Texas and I have been lurking for months! Isn't it exciting?

Bea Griffore

Hi Sherry! So glad you posted and yes it IS exciting. Can't wait for daylight. Nice to know you've been lurking but hope you post more. :)

Liberty has her head tucked in, still sleeping. Oh, her head is up now and she's looking around. I hear some early birds starting to sound off - geese and something else. Head tucked back in. How can she sleep at a time like this? Guess she's going to need the rest until that little one makes it's way out of the shell.

Sherry Parsons

I was just thinking the same thing. Guess she needs to rest while she can. Those geese left our playa lakes around the 1st of March. They winter here and I miss the honks when they go...Is anyone watching other cams? Decorah has a baby hatching, too. And Berry College has a big baby about 5 weeks old already.

Bea Griffore

Just saw a roll and the pip is definitely bigger this morning with a slight crack!

Sherry, I check those 2 nests occasionally. But I've been a little too busy to be consistant with them. Alcoa is my favorite and this is my 4th year watching L & J. I live in the Alcoa area and we have geese year round here.

I heard robins somewhere in the area. Did not hear peeping from the egg this time.

Darlene Smith

The parents just switched-nice look at the egg. The hole is bigger but the little guy/girl is still working hard to get out.Maybe this afternoon we will get to see more.

Sherry Parsons

Awwww...baby is trying to get out! Got a good hole going, but still lots of hard work ahead. Dad looked like he'd had a hard night, lol. Feathers all goofy and one stuck on his beak when he came in. Is this 37 days since 1st egg was laid did someone say?

Bea Griffore

Sherry, today is day 38 for the 1st egg.

Judith Hart

I'm amazed that they can peep from inside that tight shell, I don't see how they can open their beak enough.

Mavis

Sherry from Texas...glad you are posting. Looks like you are in good company with Darlene, Cristine, and Bea. I know Carol and Judy are up watching...and I've been glued to the NV!

Looks like it will be a while. That feather is a good way to tell them apart right now...hate to see it fall out. I think Judy is right, she may be molting.

Looks like today will be the day...hope little "Spunky" enjoys a long and good life. Can't wait to meet him/her.

Camryn

Awesome! L or J finally let me see the egg last night. Hope it hatches when I'm watching.

Cherrycarol

Good Morning Bea & Sherry. I'm up but won't be on here at all today. :( I have bible study at 9:30 then Circa 21 after. So I hope by the time I get home it'll be out. Something about a brides mais is playing. It was a movie & really funny so it will be a good day! Carol

Camryn

Just got another look at the egg. The Pip is about the size of a small marble. Maybe a bit smaller and there's a crack

amberdawn

Good morning! Checking in before work and saw the huge pip while mom did an egg roll. Can't wait for what the day brings!

Boy, you guys are late owls AND early risers!!lol

Cherrycarol

glad theres a crack. It should be today then. Boy lots of birds singing & geese. Sounds so good. I missed it. :(

Camryn

Amberdawn you are correct. I couldn't sleep AT ALL last night.

Judith Hart

Pip looks larger this last turn, now it's going sideways around the egg.

Bea Griffore

Viewer count at 356 now! Hi everyone.

Didn't see the last turn but happy to read things are progressing. I can only be here off and on today. Hope I'm on at the right time to see the first look at "Spunky" as Mavis calls him/her!

Enjoy the day everyone! Should be a high of 48 today and that's not bad at all.

Judith Hart

MN DNR, I just checked the weather for the MN DNR nest with their 3 eaglets. They're expecting a significant snowfall event with 8 - 16 inches of snowfall Thursday night and Friday.

Bea Griffore

Judith, seems the weather just doesn't give any nest a break. YIKES 8 - 16 inches!

Fish delivery at Alcoa! They are so ready.

Sharon Thomason

I just checked in at the Decorah nest. Dad got up exposing the hatching egg. The shell is split into two sections and you can see the baby wiggling around. Hope both of these two babies get free and fed before the rains move in this afternoon.

Bea Griffore

Oh darn, I'm getting spinning circles! Is this a sign I should be doing something else? Whew! finally got the feed again.

Camryn

2nd fish of the morning was just delivered. AND IT WAS STILL ALIVE!

Bea Griffore

8:57 another fish delivery with Liberty feeding Jutice a couple bites before he flies off. Much bigger pip/pips - looked like 2 holes in the egg or maybe it's cracked around now. We're getting there!

Judith Hart

Looks like a couple more turns and it should pop out!

Jackie Scott

Today is my birthday :) Hopefully there will be a little 'bobblehead' in the nest today. That would be a great present. Jackie Scott Cape Coral, FL (formerly of Hamburg, NY)

Mike

Offline come on ..

Mavis

Are there so many of us that it is crashing? Dang...feed is stop and go at best and now...wow!! Offline! Maybe just the people whose names starts with H thru M should watch today! Just a thought....don't want to overload the system. Tomorrow...M thru R...then M + ABC...and so on.

Cherrycarol

I hope Mr John sees this & gets it fixed fast. DARN!

Judith Hart

Okay Mavis, I see your "M" in there each time.

Check behind the desk, maybe someone tripped over the cord and unplugged it.

R L ML

Glad to see you'd let me watch today Mavis. I'll give someone else my place though as I'll be gone most of the day. The highest I saw on viewer number was 475.

Bea Griffore

Ok, are we going by first names or last names? First name - I get to watch the 3rd day; last name day 4,5,6 or what? Something's not right here Mavis!

Bea Griffore

Happy Birthday Jackie Scott! I think your b-day wish should be the NV cam comes back online.

Mavis

Bea...I forgot...sorry...First names....Letters A thru G can watch every day from midnight till 7 AM EST. Trying to be fair here.,

Cheryl

Morning everyone. I also watched Liberty sleeping peacefully for awhile last night. Smart bird, it will be an exciting day for her and J.

Whenever I watch the nest I do with the nest view, I don't care for the other. My feed stops and starts constantly and after a few minutes it completely stops. It seems like a bandwidth issue with Alcoa and Mediacom. Nests that I have viewed regularly can have over 1000 watching at a time and using Chrome I never had an issue. It's frustrating as most of us have been patiently waiting and now are unable to enjoy. I have the offline sign on the nest view right now. I really hope this can be resolved. We all love this nest and these eagles.

Less busy day for me today so I am hoping for some excitement!

Mavis

Happy BIrthday, Jackie....now...make a wish for the cam to come back on!

Mr. John...a comment from you would make Jackie's day!!

Mavis

Cheryl, I have the same issue with my iPad and iPhone. I don't like using the laptop. Stop and go...and finally just freezes solid. I have been watching other cams while waiting on "our" nest without issue. Just watched Decorah to see the progress there and no freezing problem. It does sound like broadband issues, just like last year.

BTW...Decorah egg is almost hatched. I can see the shell "stretch" when the eaglet pushes against it...heard it yesterday!! THat was exciting...and I see another egg has pipped. I get a smooth, constant feed there. HOWEVER....Alcoa is my favorite nest...so will wait for the cam to come back on,

Mavis

MAYBE...the TTV can be zoomed in until the NV is restored...just a thought.

Cheryl

What is that bird who is calling now, anyone know?

Maria

Good morning from Georgia. I notice that the close up of the nest is offline. Anyone else having that issue?

Cheryl

Mavis, I am the same with not liking to use the laptop. I just watched the TTV for well over 5 min. It didn't freeze once. Nest view is back!

Bea Griffore

NV cam is back, TTV cam offline and can't switch NV cam to high quality. Oh there it goes but now feed is frozen. I think I saw some adjusting, like zooming in a little, on the NV cam so maybe Mr. John is working like crazy to make us happy.

OH LOOK - great zoom on TTV! Thanks Mr. John!

Judith Hart

Sunni on Twitter got a shot of the egg cracked almost all the way around....go look. It think our next view it will have hatched.

Bea Griffore

Judith, that's about the same shot I got and posted on OT. All I'm getting now is the spinning circles! grrrrr
