1:57 P.M. CST
Great photo of adult with fish in talons. Must be lunch time for Rudy!!

Judith Hart

Another fish brought in, parent feeding Rudy...both L & J in the nest....now both took off.
Thanks for the information on the feed Mr. John, I was beginning to think it was my computer. I guess it's Mediacom.

Judith Hart

Cristine, We may have guessed right! Am I seeing things? Look at the new picture Mr. John posted, isn't Rudy on the Alcoa branch?

Cherrycarol

Judith it looks like Rudy is on the y branch but I don't think so. Media com that's what I figured. Mom & Rudy sitting together. Love it!!

Coleen Perilloux Landry

Rudy must be full or else she is pouting because Liberty won't feed her the fish in the nest. Quite windy. I marvel at Liberty and Justice, they are such good parents. The four that I follow here in southeast Louisiana are very good, too. They are gone for the season and will return in October. Every year I pray they make it back. One couple is getting old, this will be about their 15th nesting season here.
People could learn a lot from the eagles.

R L ML

JUdith it sure looks like Rudy is on the Alcoa branch. Mr John thanks for the answers to others questions and the new pictures and the new thread for the weekend. It might be a very active weekend. Earlier one parent on the nest standing on a fish for at least 20 minutes before Rudy finally decided to eat. Other parent came on after Rudy stopped eating and took the fish and was eating when cam went offline. Both parents on nest when it came back on and one flew to the Alcoa branch before flying off. One on the nest was eating and Rudy squeeing loudly and finally was given a few very large bites.

Mavis

Judy....you need to grab a glass of punch...I don't believe she has branched yet. The picture must have been taken during one of our "freezes"!

Thank you for responding to our questions, Mr. John. It helps when we understand. Now we can stop asking you to zoom out on the NV.

R L ML

Judith I looked a the picture again and Rudy is level with parent on the nest with the Alcoa branch above him.

Annette Kryske

2:28 PM PDT. Spent 3/4 hour this AM watching Rudy and Mom stare each other down Mom had a fish under her claw, and was waiting for Rudy to get off her rear, and eat it. ....and she did just that. I was so proud of her, that, I made a comment on the video I was taking. The Nest view worked fine. I personally like those better, but the top view has such pretty scenery. Thanks for thee new pictures, Mr. John, and your comments.

Annette Kryske

R L ML Sorry, I didn't see your comment above. I have been running around after lunch doing errands, as I start bowling again tomorrow, and wanted to get this message out to Mr. John.

Judith Hart

Rudy was just showing off her beautiful wingspread.

Cristine

She's a beauty isn't she? Busy preening herself on her perch. I spy the turtle shell! You can even see it on the TTV.

Cristine

Rudy has been very entertaining, parading around the nest with some small rodent-looking thing and then the turtle shell.

Bobbie

Coleen are you near Lafitte, La? I have family who live across the intercoastal waterway from Jean Lafitte Park. I've seen the eagles in the spring when we visit them.

Paula Kany

Thank you Mr. John for all the hard work you do to entertain and educate us. My favorite picture from the TTV is when Rudy is sitting with her back to us facing the river, the wind is blowing and the heart shaped leaves are around her, so peaceful looking. We still have Rudy for a short while but we lost our little falcon at the MidAmerican building Tuesday which was very sad.

I pray God will guide Rudy into a safe fledge so she can soar in the beautiful blue skies. I will really miss her. Will look forward to L & J coming back to show us once again what wonderful parents they are.

Cristine

You are going to make me tear up again Paula, for the second time today. Beautifully written.

Cristine

Coyotes already. And it's not even dark yet. They seem to always howl when the train whistle is blowing.

Cristine

Oh jeez. Look at the bugs. Makes me itch just watching them swarm the nest.

Judith Hart

Is that a glow in the dark turtle I'm seeing, close to the center of the nest.
Rudy's nightlight!

Mavis

11:47 PM EDT

Well...wouldn't you know it...the wind is calm and Rudy decides to sleep laying down in the nest. Guess it is better this way in order to guard the turtle shell. When the wind is at it's fiercest...Rudy likes to sleep standing on the edge! Goodnight, Little One..

Cherrycarol

GM Rudy was moving some sticks around. streathcing & down again. I'm off to work. I still tired from yesterdays long day. UGG Not so busy today. Thank God! HAGD. Carol another beautiful day for the family.

Cristine

I guess I am one of the "Early birds" this morning! Rudy is already perched up high on her regular post. Wind is calm. A high of 82 degrees. Maybe today is the day that she branches.

Coleen Perilloux Landry

Bobbie, I am about half an hour away from Lafitte. In fact, my son taught and coached at the high school there.

Wendy

OMG! I just tuned in to see Rudy standing on something and appearing to eat whatever it was in her shadow, when she stepped off and what I think was a baby goose ran and went off the nest edge! Poor thing!

Wendy

Rudy is still looking over that edge and squealing.

Cherrycarol

Fish brought in & Rudy was eating it all by herself. Finally. Then mom came in & took it. Rudy squeeling tried to get it from mom, then she fed her a few bites & Rudy was nipping at her & stole it away. Then mom took it back & finished it off. At least she was eating that fish really good. Next should be mantling. Wendy I'm glad I missed that.

Bobbie

Coleen, my mother was born & raised in Luling. Came to Illinois in 1947 after my Dad got out of the service. My older brother was born in New Orleans!

Rudy is standing on side of nest all alone right now.

5:08 CST

Mavis

Wendy...wish I could have seen that. That poor baby...maybe it made it!! I know it had to be injured but just maybe! Did you get a picture??

Rudy is standing in her favorite spot.

Mavis

7:02 PM EDT

L or J just brought in something...Rudy mantled it right away and is squealing like mad. I think she wants L or J to leave so they won't steal her supper! Soooo funny.

Mavis

7:05 PM EDT

L or J just left and little Rudy torn into that fish! Doing a real fine job eating it too. I'm real proud of her.

Mavis

7:06 PM

Now, Rudy as backed off the fish and stopped eating...I wonder why?

Mavis

7:11 PM EDT

Ok...my faith has been restored...Rudy is eating the fish again and she is getting with the program!!

Cherrycarol

YEA!! Finally! Like it happened over night. Maybe branching will be the same way.

Mavis

7:14 PM EDT

Ok...anyone watching this? I posted and there was still over 1/2 the fish left...went back to the video and the fish is GONE! She could not have eaten it that fast....what happened to the fish? Did she throw it over the edge? I notice she is looking over the side., Anyone know what happened?

Paula Kany

L or J brought a fish for Rudy, she squealed a lot but managed to eat the whole thing by herself, even using her talons to hold it, you go girl! Then she hung over the edge looking down to the ground like she was looking for the lost goose, so funny. Instead she just rubbed her head and neck on the branch and watched below. She is so funny sometimes.

Mavis

Paula...so glad you posted. I don't know how she ate the fish that fast...only took me a minute to post...went back to the video and that fish was gone! Thanks for letting me know what happened.

Wendy

Mavis, you're so funny. No, I did not get a pic of the goose going over the edge. I was on the nest view and it happened so fast! Rudy was standing in the center hunched over something in her shadow and like I said, she stepped back and the wings flapped on the gosling as it ran to the edge. I tried to switch quickly to the TTV but was to late. It had already gone off the back between the two branches. Rudy was walking around and squealing as if to say "what just happened?".

I know this is human nature, but It's still hard for me to take.

Annette Kryske

5:46 PM PDT. I noticed the small turtle shell is still in the nest since early afternoon. I wonder if the inside was the thing that was hanging out of Rudy's mouth earlier.
I am finally getting back to bowling again on Fridays.A sore hip kept me out for a few weeks. My high game was 170 today with no handicap. They closed the alley that was .4 from my house, and now drive 5 miles to another alley. Oh well. As I am killing time now waiting for Rudy to do something, I have the split screen.I guess I will check in later.

Cristine

Well, I am back checking in tonight, right after the sun has gone down. Rudy was on her perch, laid down in the nest for an moment, and is then popped back onto her perch staring off over the river.
Wow, what a day I missed! I am so glad I didn't have to witness what you did Wendy. I have always been afraid of something alive being brought into the nest. Just the thought of it bothers me.
Beautiful calm evening in the Q.C. area. I am sitting in my screened-in porch (away from the dratted gnats) listening to the Robins say their good- nights.

Cristine

Coyotes!

Jo

How fun to read y'all's comments. Would have loved to see that gosling jump off the nest screaming "Geronimo"! The picture Mr John posted sure does look like Rudy is off the ground kind of crouched on that branch, but I'll bow to y'all's better knowledge. Sure is fun reading how Rudy has grown up. Also great seeing the picture of Liberty in the nest with Rudy. Great shot!
CherryCarol, I meant to say this the other day: Great picture on your "avatar!" I'm assuming it's you and you are beautiful! Won't be long before Rudy...and our Arky and Dakota will be branching and then flying of to be the gorgeous eagles they're meant to be. Sure has been another fun year of watching eagles do what eagles do!
Mr. John, thanks for all you've done to make this a super duper eagle rearing season! I've enjoyed watching!
Jo

Cherrycarol

GM Rudy in her favorite spot. Thanks JO. Another busy day at work. I'll be glad when it's over. She should be branching soon I hope!! HAGD. Have fun Mavis I know you'll love seeing all those raptures, Carol

Mavis

Wendy...that was not the first gosling brought to the nest alive. I saw one last year...it was not something I wanted to see again. It is hard to believe anything small could survive those powerful talons. According to the American Eagle Foundation, "An adult bald eagle's talons are capable of exerting 1,000 pounds of pressure - enough not only to pierce through the entire arm but to break a human arm." That is a heck of a lot of 'crush' power!!

Rudy has been grooming herself for a while now. Those flight feathers are still heavy with blood that fills the hollow shafts. The ends of the shafts will seal off in a few days and the blood reabsorbed. When this happens...the feathers will be very light... 30 feathers will weigh about the same as a penny. Flight will become possible when this process completes.

Rudy still has her turtle shell...they can be fun toys. We watched one try to crawl away last year....it was not as lucky at Wendy's gosling!

Today I'm going to visit the NC Raptor Center and hospital. Looking forward to a nice day. Will catch up on the posts when I get back.

Good morning everyone

Annette Kryske

6:40 PDT 6/7 Liberty and Justice are having a food problem. Pecking at each other,(not with love taps) and Rudy seems to be cowering in the corner. L or J is ravenous, after a bit one flies out, and the other is still gorging itself, finally Rudy is getting some grub. I didn't see the actual beginning.
Quite a bit of excitement

Joyce

I did see that squabble. Poor Rudy stayed out of it. Anxious every time I turn the site on. Also exited about our California Chrome today. Maybe we'll have two exciting things happen. A branching and a triple crown ! Calif. Chromey.

Cristine

Rudy seems to have a found a new favorite twig to perch on under the "Alcoa Branch" I just saw her stretch over and try to snag one of those nearby leaves. Rain is on it's way.

Joyce

California "Corn" Casserole:
Combine together:
1 can creamed corn,1 can whole corn, drained
1 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup mayonaise, 1 stick butter, melted, 3 large eggs, beaten, 1 box jiffy corn bread mix. Pour into 9 x 12 greased baking dish. Bake 350 deg. - 20 min. Remove from oven and cover with 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated. Return to oven and bake 5 - 10 min. you may add chopped chilies, bacon green onions or anything that would be good with corn!
Enjoy .

Cherrycarol

I had this on at work& I saw dad bring in a fish & Rudy mantled it & dad left really fast. It was earlier this morning. Maybe the first fish brought in. She's catching on. Feels like it's getting cooler & rain coming. Joyce I've had that before & its good! Carol

Cherrycarol

The Alcoa baby osprey is doing good. Mom finally figured out how to feed it,

Cristine

I can smell the rain! Rudy has gone back to her other perch overlooking the river.

Cherrycarol

The rain is here.

Cherrycarol

I was sad that California Chrome didn't win. :(

Annette Kryske

So was I Carol. Today wasn't winning games for me. First California Chrome,
then the Dodgers, lost.Leon's Yankees are losing, and so are the KIngs. Hopefully the last two teams can bring it out and win for us.What is the temp. in Iowa today?? Does it get humid after the rains? We sure could use a lot of your rain that you had this past winter. I just checked in on Rudy, she is waiting for some food. That was some excitement this morning for me to watch L & J snapping at one another.I HAVE NVER SEEN THAT BEFORE WITH THEM.Have a good weekend.

Cherrycarol

It's only about 62 Chilly! But my hummers are busy eating.

Coleen Perilloux Landry

Wet little bird.

Joyce

Off on the Harley to Oregon for 10 days. Hope to check on the nest at my destination. Chrome made us happy and excited about something for a change. the story was so great. Still is. Love that horse. Now he can have fun himself meeting lovely mares. Off to ride into the wind. I'll be looking for eagles on my way. Joyce in Calif.

Wendy

Mavis, thanks for the statistics on the eagle talons. I always thought the beak to be the eagle's greatest weapon. Wouldn't it be nice if they could put their prey out of misery quickly with one fell swoop of their talon to a vein or artery? Anyway, hope you found The Raptor Center interesting today.

Annette & Joyce...I too witnessed the parents squabble over food today and Rudy taking her submissive stance. She stands tall until the parents enter the picture and then reverts to being the baby like us humans tend to do.

Rudy standing alone and wet last I checked.

Cherrycarol

GM Fish brought in earlier & Rudy was right on it. Dad left real fast. A little later mom comes & steals the fish from her & she lets her. Humm! Liberty eats Rudy squeels. Rudy tries to take it from mom. Finally Rudy did get some & mom just left. They were having a tug of war!!

Bea Griffore

Good morning everyone.

Tuned in this morning to see an adult in the nest with Rudy but she is now alone. And she ate something long, stringy and black - looked pretty ugly so I'm glad I don't know what it was. NOw Rudy is back at her favorite perch spot with only her yellow feet visible in the NV. The temp at my house now is about 60.

Well, I didn't read that anyone saw Rudy branch so guess I didn't miss it with not being connected for a few days. Maybe today? We'll see.

Happy viewing!

Bea Griffore

Hi Carol.

Bea Griffore

I checked the MN Bound loons. They had a hatch yesterday and nobody can tell for sure if there is a pip in the 2nd egg yet. That little one is so darn cute, swimming already and up and down from the parent's back. Here is the link:
http://mnbound.com/live-loon-cam/

Everthing is peaceful this morning.

Annette Kryske

10:16 AM PDT Rudy is checking her nest to see if there is any food around. Now she is doing some "wingersizing"She seems a little sluggish , but is getting it together. She looks like a huge pigeon at times.I think she is playing with the turtle shell again. Will get back again later, maybe when there is more action.

Judith Hart

Every time I think Rudy is going for the A branch, she stops and scratches her face.

We had a good time at the Carolina Raptor center, but it was really hot and humid. The deeper we walked into the woods, the worse it got. I really felt like I would pass out. Mavis made a beeline for the pavilion, when I finished, I spotted her half asleep in the chair with a cold drink.

We were going to head to Dollywood next, but she received a call and her pup is having a serious problem with her heart, she left to head back this morning.
My dog Tippy is now in end stage kidney failure. She had IV fluids Friday and sub q fluids at home, now with syringe feeding. She is not yet responding. I'm glad she is home with me and she is comfortable.

Bea Griffore

Mavis and Judith, I'm so sorry to hear about the health problems of your dogs. I know you both love these dogs like children and that's hard. I also know both of you will do whatever can be done to at least make them comfortable.

Rudy is getting her exercise - flapping her wings, jumping across the nest and playing withe whatever little thing she can pick up in the nest. Pretty quiet there.

Cristine

Doesn't that look like the turtle shell about ready to go over the left side of the nest on the TTV?

Carol and Bea....glad to hear Rudy had something to eat earlier today.... fish and whatever it was:) I am going to check out that loon site!

Nice to hear from you again today Annette, and happy to know Rudy was doing her daily wingersizing exercises :)

Mavis and Judy..... sounds like the raptor center was pretty cool... errr, I mean pretty hot :) Wish you could send some of that heat up here to the North land. I am freezing. I have on my sweatshirt and wool socks!
I am so concerned about your dogs :( Thinking of you both.

Judith Hart

That is the turtle shell about to drop out at about 7:00 on the TTV. I saw her playing around with it earlier. It looks like that entire side of the nest is sagging, with a V right in the middle.

Earlier I saw Liberty fly into the nest and Rudy almost attacked her for food. Mom exited quickly.

Fred Collins

Mom is going to have to starve Rudy to get her to move around and get ready to fledge. Like a spoiled teenager who won't leave home as long as she's fed.

Cherrycarol

Sorry to hear about your dogs. It is so hard loosing them. A friend of mine just lost hers yesterday. He was 16. You guys on OT know her. Just got back from a play & checking in. Cool for sure Cristine 72. Thought we were suppose to get sun.

Skedaddle

About that sagging side of the nest ... this morning I watched Rudi pull a long branch out and lay it at the base of the Y branch. She crossed to her favorite perch and kinda flew over to land on it. Earlier when I was watching someone flew in and dropped off what looked like the remains of a frog. Rudi immediately began to mantle it and eat. Then Justice flew in with a big fish and Rudi immediately tried to get to it. Justice began eyeing the frog or whatever and Rudi went over to mantle that. So Justice flew back to the fish and devoured it! Rudi tried to snatch a few bites, but not much luck. After he finished the fish, J went to the frog and began to eat to the sound of R squeeing and making half-hearted attempts to get some. Finally J left and R continued to eat on the frog, but I'm sure she was thinking of that delicious fish she missed out on! All in all a very interesting morning!

Cristine

Does that sagging side of the nest concern anyone besides me? I guess I should just put myself in the NWZ

Judith Hart

Now Rudy's in a pickle, she dropped her only toy, Mr. Turtle shell, just below where she's standing. It's wedged in the side of the nest between some branches. I think she can see it but it's just out of reach.

Cherrycarol

GM everyone. I'm waiting for a fish drop. Seems to be the most exciting thing that happens here. Going to be warmer today. 77 Having lunch at TGI Fridays & it's by the river so I hope we can sit outside for lunch.

Bea Griffore

Good morning everyone.

What a beautiful morning! Rudy is alone and flapping her wings and jumping around. You would think a fish drop is coming but nothing so far that I've seen. Awwww, too bad she dropped her turtle shell.

I hope Alcoa's internet provider fixes the upload speed soon! Annoying to say the least.

I checked the Loons this morning. The 2nd chick hatched yesterday afternoon while #1 was on the lake with mom. Dad and #2 left the platform early this morning and that's probably the last we will see of them this year. Such a small window of time to view them and just like that it's over. I heard loons calling to each other last evening while watching and it was such a haunting sound.

Still no fish/food for Rudy but she is picking around in the nest a lot now.

Happy viewing. bbl

Cherrycarol

It's a good thing I looked at the loons last night or I would have missed them. Rudy doing a lot of flying across the nest. The Alcoa osprey baby is doing good. They finally figured out how to feed it. They r calling it Miracle. & it sure is! Food drop soon I hope.

Cherrycarol

Did I miss breakfast drop off. Looks like she's eating.

Bea Griffore

Carol, I missed it too if it happened.

Annette Kryske

6:48 AM PDT Good Morning! Another very windy day in Alcoa Land. Rudy is looking for some food. Now she parked herself and is resting. I hear quite a bit of chirping from her neighbors. We have June Gloom in LA today. The mornings are overcast, but by noon the sun is out, and after lunch Leon & I get our vitamin D. Breakfast time.

Cristine

Good morning! Rudy was sitting on her perch under the Y branch when I first came on and is now laying down. She did walk over and investigate that hole that I see at the 10:00 position. Did she dig that? Or one of the parents? Looks like a "snake hole" Maybe Rudy pulled something out of the nest.

I got to eat on the river yesterday. We had lunch at the Captain's Table after attending Mass with our daughter and her fiance. It was absolutely lovely to sit outside and enjoy the sights and sounds. Hope you can sit outside too, Carol at TGIF! At least you will have some sunshine today. Rain again later on they are saying.

Thanks for the update about the loons, Bea. I was able to go on and see the newly hatched baby yesterday trying to get under the Dad's wing. So darn cute! You are right, it's such a small window of time that we are privileged to view these nature's miracles.

Rudy back under the Y branch again.

Bea Griffore

Carol and Cristine, so glad you checked on the Loons yesterday. What a gorgeous bird!

Come on Rudy, that branch is right at eye level for you. Go ahead and jump up there! This little breeze just might help you. Still waiting for a food delivery or at least a parent to show up. The surrounding birds all sound so happy.

Cristine

It's still hard for me to grasp that the Y branch is at eye level now. It used to seem so high, before we got the TTV camera. Before, we could only get the perspective of the NV camera. Also, I suppose the nest has been gradually built up a little higher.

Bea Griffore

11:20am CDT Parent finally shows up with a fish! Big fish! Rudy got all excited but now is just studying the fish and squealing. Parent is just standing there, waiting to see what Rudy will do. Dig in Rudy!

Bea Griffore

Five minutes later parent starts feeding Rudy. Still spoiled. :)

R L ML

Rudy kept the loud squealing going until she finally got fed. Parent finished off the fish after Rudy moved away and then cleaned up all the scraps before leaving

Bea Griffore

NV - Is that the turtle shell on the right side of the nest, upside down and kind of down a bit from the real edge? Not sure why I didn't notice that earlier and now I can't miss it.

So calm at the nest right now with Rudy sitting on the edge gazing out at the world she will soon explore. I can see just a bit of the river in the top of the TTV.

Shirley Borel

After getting so little food the last few days,
will Rudy have the strength to fly when the time comes? Seems with just one chick to feed, the parents could supply more groceries.

Bea Griffore

Shirley, usually eaglets need to slim down to be able to fly. I suspect that's what is going on here. That plus trying to get Rudy to eat on her own. Lots to learn before going out into the world and be able to hunt, fish and survive.

And there she is again right next to the Alcoa branch (so named when the Alcoa logo was right on the branch like some said last week) and she's not even acting like she wants to get up there. She sure does like being on the edge though.

Cherrycarol

I went down to the river at 10:30 & saw mom or dad sitting at the tip top of the tree. I think it's Liberty. & I could see Rudy standing on the edge of the nest. With my binoculars. That is moms favorite spot she can see everything up there. The baby geese r almost AS BIG AS PARENTS NOW. mUST BE 50 BY THE RIVER. & WE GOT A TREAT AT tgif'S. a ROBIN HAS MADE A NEST outside under the canopy with 3 babies. So wew got to watch them feed them. FUN & a beautiful day. 6 of us girls & we were there 4 hours. Captains Table next week. Love to sit outside every chance we can.

Annette Kryske

Carol, aren't you the lucky one to be able to live and work so close to the nest and see what is going on.! How was your lunch at TGIF? The last time I was there, I really enjoyed Pizza.I can eat pizza every day.I remember when Leon & I were dating back in the 40's, we went to a movie, and after we went to the local pizzeria, Leon didn't eat those days,I ate a whole small pepperoni pizza & a coke, he had just a beer, that was the beginning of our friendship. Now 66 years later, he eats and likes pepperoni pizzas.Rudy is still in her special corner.I will be back !

Annette Kryske

I am back sooner than I expected, in my above message, I said that Leon didn't eat in those days, I neglected to mention pizzas.(funny me)He was a voracious eater, and usually ate quite a bit. He was about 19 years old, then.Rudy. is wingersizing now.It looked like he was branching when I just looked at him.I hear tooting from the boats, and not the trains right now.

Cristine

Rudy is back on her favorite perch overlooking the river. She is standing straight and tall like a little soldier.

Yep, looks like that turtle shell is slipping farther and farther off into Neverland.

Got my garden in today, finally. 16 tomato plants. 12 Jalapeno peppers, 8 bell peppers, onions, zucchini, yellow crookneck squash, and some giant pumpkins. I am exhausted. Had to get it in before it rains again.

Annette, I could eat pizza every day, too :)

Cherrycarol

LOL Annette. I was wondering about Leon not eating. Cristine that is a lot of work. Good luck with it. I had a garden once & it was too much work for me, but I was working then too. Rudy still in her favorite spot, one of them anyway. TGIF was great & a beautiful day to eat outside. They r taking names for the baby Alcoa Osprey. Most of us like Miracle. Hope it makes it1

Annette Kryske

Oh Boy, My age is catching up with me ....Carol, When you posted you had lunch at TGIF, my mind went to California Pizza Kitchen. They don't have pizzas at TGIF!! I've eaten there many times, and I get either chicken or steak. My mind was on pizzas, when you mentioned foods. I think I better go and get another glass of wine with my dinner tonight. Haha

Fred Collins

Rudy just waddled over to the middle of the nest and crashed down on her belly for a good nights sleep! Funny!

R L ML

Rudy was back on the edge of the nest when I looked in a half hour later. Too early to go to bed.

Cristine

Checking in on Rudy. NV is offline. Everything sounds calm. A cool night in the Q.C. area with a low of 59 degrees. Meet you at the nest tomorrow.

Bea Griffore

Good morning all.

Rudy is awake and doing some wingersizing in the morning breeze. Big hop across the nest to her favorite perch! Not much else going on. 10 weeks old tomorrow, is that right? She really should branch any day now.

Carol, your day yesterday sounds great! It's so neat that you report when you see L & J from across the river. And robins too! What a treat.

Cristine, that sounds like a huge garden you planted! Do you make salsa? I haven't had a garden in so many years I can't remember when the last one was. I think my favorite thing from the garden is green beans. I could make a meal of just green beans.

NV cam still offline and Rudy is calling out. Calling for breakfast? I don't hear any adults answering but the other birds are singing away.
bbl

Coleen Perilloux Landry

So nice to see Miss Rudy being playful and skipping around her nest early in the morning. I would just like to hug her.

Bea Griffore

Coleen, wouldn't that be something? I can't even imagine what it would be like to hold an eagle in my arms. I imagine her feathers feeling like smooth cool satin.

Cherrycarol

GM everyone Yes Rudy will be 10 weeks tomorrow. Getting some sprinkles today. Rudy still waiting for breakfast. HAGD I have to get ready for work.

Judith Hart

I lost another of my faithful companions last night. My dog Tippy of 16 years passed last night, she was in end stage renal failure. I brought her home from the vets after a day of IV fluids, I put her on her bed, she started crying and had a massive rectal hemorrhage, it wouldn't stop. I sedated her as much as I could until the veterinarian arrived. She has always been the nurse to my other dogs. I miss you my Tippy.
