July 18 Rudy eating on nest 11:20 am!

R L ML

Glad to have one camera back. Thanks again for all you do for us.

Paula Kany

Welcome back Rudy. Sitting on the edge squealing so great to hear it. His head feathers look more white from the little I saw. He has a turtle also, more fun in the nest like old times. Thank you Alcoa and Mr. John.

R L ML

Someone on OT posted a picture just a little before 1:50 of a stranger on the nest. It had much more white than Rudy. I saw just the back and the turtle shell and thought it was Rudy, but it was probably the stranger.

Mavis

I wonder if that turtle knows if it sits there....it will be a snack soon. It may not be alive....but we know some have arrived at the nest and escaped over the side!

Wendy

Paula, I also saw the eaglet with the partially white head feathers, but I don't think that was Rudy. There was squeeing in the background and then that eaglet came flying in to scare off the one tossing the turtle around, but it's head was out of view so I couldn't tell if the 2nd eaglet had a dark or light head. I thought I read that it takes 4-5 years for them to get the white head feathers. Could someone verify this so I know who is our Rudy?

Bea Griffore

It was not our Rudy! I saw it and it brought that turtle with it. However, I didn't see a second one come in so that may have been Rudy. No white tail so it wasn't an adult either. Sure was a lot of squawking going on!

Bea Griffore

Mavis, by now I'm thinking the turtel is dead or it would have already run over the side. Unless it got the you-know-what scared out of it and it doesn't dare peek out!

Bobbie

Mavis & Bea Turtle still in nest at 4:05 CST. Think it must be dead. Probably Rudy's newest toy! Still haven't seen Rudy on nest. Nothing when stopped by river bank. I'll just keep trying.

Cherrycarol

WOW! I didn't even think the cam would be on today. So I didn't even til now.
This will be interesting if we have a different juvie in the nest!! I even had this at work today. DARN!!
Thanks Alcoa!!

Mavis

6:47 PM EDT

Parent flew in...Rudy flew in and on top of parent....parent left...Rudy screaming and manteling...can't see what was brought in...

Sandy Stricklin

Rudy is really carrying on. The eagle stranger must be close by.

Sandy/Omaha

Sandy Stricklin

Well, that was entertaining! I think Rudy was telling the eagle stranger "this is my nest. Keep off the nest". He was still squeeing as he flew off.

Sandy/Omaha

Cherrycarol

I still hear him!!

Paula Kany

I hear Rudy squawking somewhere close, see that the turtle shell is hanging over the edge, they had fun with it I guess. Wish the camera was backed up a bit so we could see more but that will take time. Wonder who the stranger is and if they will be brave enough to come back? Felt so lost the last two weeks, nice to see it all again.

Judith Hart

Justice landed in the nest with a fish and Rudy landed right on top of him screaming.
Screaming and mantling, now finally eating. Justice beat it!

Cherrycarol

Dinner is served & Rudy can't squeaking long enough to eat!

Cherrycarol

Rudy is really noisy tonight!!

Cristine

I feel bad for any viewers that may have left for the season while the cameras were down. Come back!! There is still so much to see! Rudy is still hanging around the nest, Liberty and Justice are still bringing food, and Rudy is still really good at making a lot of noise :) It's music to my ears after the deafening silence of the last few weeks!
Oh... sunset on the nest. How beautiful.

Judith Hart

I wonder at what age Rudy's voice will change? Squee squee? skree skree? I can't figure out how to spell that sound! Do adults ever make that sound?

Wendy

Judith, as I recall Liberty would make a similar sound when she was nesting and another bird flew to close. When she called Justice for food or a break it was more of a throaty chirp and not so alarming. Haven't heard that sound from Rudy yet.

Cherrycarol

GM I haven't seen or heard anything yet. Most people say squeeeee! For that sound
I'm off to get donuts & to work. have a good day!!

Cristine

That is an interesting question, Judith.... one that I have thought about also. At what age do eagles quit making that "baby" sound? Does anybody know? A year maybe? It was also interesting that a sub-adult was in the nest yesterday. We thought that only happens in the Spring before nesting season! I really think that was probably one of Rudy's older siblings from a previous year coming home for a visit. Maybe Freedom? But that's my own personal opinion :)

Ole! Ole! Love that music. Good morning world.

Bea Griffore

GM everyone.

I hear eagle calls off in the distance. Haven't seen anything yet. Oh, wait...it's getting closer.

Bea Griffore

It was a no show!

Cherrycarol

Cristine I don't now that answer either. Looks like they are someplace else today!

Joyce

I'm baaaccckkkk! I just had to check once more before I gave up the nest and whala! Action, but whenever I check now,the nest is so empty.
Just a little folk music. I wonder if it's because the border is too full and the kidlets are headed to the Quad City. Get ready.
Joyce in Pinecrest

Cherrycarol

GM Nice to see you back Joyce. Quiet at the nest so far. Hopefully they will come around. Rudy is probably in school learning how to hunt & catch fish.
HAGD EVERYONE. LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER NICE ONE!!

Bea Griffore

Good Sunday morning!

Carol, it sure is going to be a nice one. I'm loving this weather lately. I like the idea that Rudy is in school! I hope we get to see him today.

Joyce, you cracked me up about the music and the border! (Parts of that might not be so funny but love the way you said it.) And I think you are just like all of us - can't stay away and hoping for another look.

I tried to find out about that voice change thing and didn't find anything.

Have a great day everyone.....bbl

Cristine

Good morning! I am hearing big machinery and voices near the nest. Hmmmmmm. I haven't seen a thing since I've been watching. Carol... you must be right. Rudy is at school today. Sunday school!
Bea..... how's the packing going? How much longer do you have to be out of your house? We just got our son and family moved this week. It's quite the process. I feel for you :)
Joyce....Nice to see you back again! Hope you stop in often! You just never know when there will be action at the nest. Don't get me started on the border situation. As we all know, it's not just children we are allowing into our country. Frightening.

High of 84 today and 90 by tomorrow. Welcome back summer!!!

Bea Griffore

Cristine, I heard some of that earlier this morning too. Very loud truck beeps that sounded like it was right under the tree and made me wonder if the other cam is being worked on.....hmmmmm is right. Packing? Oh my, what a job! Our closing is Aug 22 and we need to be out and ready to hand over keys then. AND we have a trip to MI next week for a wedding.

I'm so sad to hear that James Garner passed away yesterday. :( He seemed like one of the good guys of Hollywood. I loved him in Rockford Files! I hope they run a marathon of those show in his honor. 86 - a good long life but still sad. We just watched a bunch of Maverick episodes yesterday. Those were from the 50s and he looked like such a kid then but oh so handsome.

Well, all I'm hearing now is the sounds of nature at the nest and I love that. bbl

Bea Griffore

11:36am CDT.....An adult in the nest eating!

Cristine

I sure can't tell what that is that he/she is eating because he/she is blocking the view. Might be a good thing, as I don't think it's a fish. It appears to be tough.

Cristine

And she is gone after swallowing the last of "the thing" whole. I thought she was going to choke on it! Hearing the voices again, and I swear I heard the ice-cream truck go by a few minutes ago. Weird.

Cherrycarol

Rudy just got dinner sered. 6:20 pm

Cherrycarol

Well maybe no food. He's gone already. I could hear him first tho.

R L ML

Rudy was on the still picture, but by the time I got it live he was gone.

Cristine

I missed Rudy:( I can hear the music coming across the river from the Captain's Table in Moline. On the schedule for tonight is the Funktastic Five playing your favorite top 40 hits. Wish I were there! What a beautiful night to be on the river.

Cristine

I hear Rudy squealing close by!

Cherrycarol

GM another wonderful morning! Going to get to 90 today. No show yet. Maybe the other cam will get fixed today. That would be nice. Lunch today with the girls at Olive Garden!! Have a good one!! Carol

Wendy

Good morning, all.

Carol, I always like to hear what you're doing on your Monday. Have you ever checked out the American Pickers shop in Bettendorf? I love to watch their show.

Bea, I too loved James Garner. His movie Murphy's Romance with Sally Field is one of my all-time favorites. Not to many of those REAL movie stars left.

Well, haven't seen Rudy for a couple days, but am satisfied just to hear him. I wonder if he's been spending nights in the nest out of view. Thought maybe I'd see him laying in the nest sleeping, but don't know if he sleeps standing up now that he's older. Will have to google to see how and where the adults sleep.

Cherrycarol

Stopped by the river on the way home but didn't see any eagles as u can see here too.
Yea!! Nice to see the other cam on. Wendy. Yes I'm sure Rudy is standing to sleep now. Like a big boy!!
Wendy us girls love to go to lunch & we talk for hours. What FUN!!
Hope we'll get to see some of the family now. Pretty hot out but there's a nice breeze.

Roger

Nice to see TTV again...but i don't spot Rudy..but wind is making kinda a blurry picture. But no matter its beats color bars!

Mavis

5:47 PM EDT

I have both cameras down with a blue message that says video stopped.

Must be a mediacom issue. At least we know both cams work...that is going to be so nice!

Cristine

Yay! Both cameras up and working. The blue bar is gone now, too. Great to see the river again. Thanks, Mr. John.

Cherrycarol

GM Boy it's going to nasty out today 101 UGG!! Due point at 80. Glad it's only going to last one day!
L & J must be showing Rudy there territory. The Decorah eaglet is flying miles away & back so I'm sure Rudy is too!!
Hagd

Bea Griffore

Yippy! So nice to have both cams back. Everything looks awesome!

Carol, yes - kind of a nasty day today and about as opposite of winter as we can get. My weather report says heat index of 105. Whew, we're going to have to be careful out there.

Weather like this always makes me feel for those who have to work out there. Stay hydrated everyone and give the animals plenty of water too.

Wendy, that IS a good movie! "Real" star is right.

No eagle calls so Carol is probably right Rudy is flying miles away. He's probably flying north to find cooler temps, I know I would be.

bbl

Cristine

Storms moving South and East of the Q.C. area this morning missing us, but with more to come later this afternoon. That will usher in the cold front with much cooler temps for the rest of the week. I plan to take my grandkids to the pool today and enjoy this warm weather while I can!
No action at the nest and with this wind I can't hear any of the other bird sounds either :(

Kathy

Both cameras working, wonderful on a Tuesday morning. Thanks so much everyone who made it possible!!

Bobbie

3:48 PM CST
Cameras both off line:(

Roger

Glad to see your post Bobbie as i can't get any views on either camera also!

Cherrycarol

I wonder what happened?? The storm is heading our way.

R L ML

Some action at the nest just before 6 nest time. A sparrow like bird on the Alcoa.

Joyce

Just posted a pic of me and my hubby 58 years ago. On Facebook. We tied the knot and haven't had a bad day since. 2 daughters and 5 grandkids. No sign of the Eagle family, so I'm off to throw into the oven Marie's chicken pies. A blast from the past!

Cristine

Three die-hard devoted viewers still on the TTV and NV just hoping for a glimpse of........ something. I am one of them. I hear a robin and a blue-jay. It is so humid out right now.
Joyce....congratulations! 58 years. You are an inspiration!

Mavis

6:43 AM EDT

Been checking in this morning...and several times yesterday but have not seen or heard Rudy. My timing may be off...but sure miss his squeals.

Cherrycarol

Wendy. I haven't been to the new Pickers Building yet. But I did suggest it for lun

ch some Monday. Le Clair that is.

I,m one of those few watching. Doesn't look good today either but u never know.
Bible study, getting a massage & work for a little bit.
Going to be beautiful out today!! ENJOY!!
Congrats Joyce

Bea Griffore

Good morning all. And a beautiful morning it is too. Nice temps with a breeze.

Joyce, congratulations of 58 years of wedded bliss!

No action at the nest except the leaves blowing gently in the breeze. Guess I'll get busy and check back later. Timing has to be just right and we might get more looks at Rudy and L & J. I'm just so glad both cams are working!
bbl

Bobbie

10:19 CST No pictures! Must be my luck to check in when cameras are off-line!
Congrats Joyce on 58 years. My hubby & I celebrated 45 years in January & are hoping to make 50.
Have a good day everyone!

R L ML

Nest view back on when I checked in about 11:15 nest time It was a great view in the nest with the shadows of the wind blowing the leaves. Treetop view back on very shortly after.

Cherrycarol

GM Another beautiful day. Our family must out exploring!! Sure do miss seeing them. I'm off too work. hagd carol

Cristine

Good morning all! I can hear, but not see a robin close to the nest. Oh, and now a woodpecker. It's funny how we don't see "Fearless and friends" anymore. (They are the sparrow family that lives in the bottom of the nest.) I guess that because nesting season is officially over they don't need it anymore. Maybe they will return when the weather gets cold and nasty in the fall. Only three viewers this morning. Carol, I am sure you are one of them :) Happy Thursday!

Cherrycarol

I hear a strange bird or something & an eagle too wonder what's going on?

Linda Turgeon

6:54 am eastern time - there's an eagle sitting on the branch above the nest. Back is to me, so I can't see WHICH eagle it might be - excited!

Linda Turgeon

Has white head feathers, so maybe L or J - definitely not Rudy.

Linda Turgeon

7:02 - heard train, eagle flew away

Mavis

7:20 AM EDT

No action on nest...hear lots of birds but not our eagles...

Cherrycarol

GM A cool & rainy day. Guess we need some rain. At least it's not a down pour. No eagles now. I walked yesterday afternoon by the river & didn't see any eagles either. HAGD everyone. Carol

Cristine

You are right, Carol. Very cool. Only 60 degrees right now. Brrrrr. I just read that Terry Swails said this may be "The year without a summer" for the Q.C. That is, if you expect summer be be hot and humid, which I do. With the winter we just had, it just doesn't surprise me! Mavis, Judith and Colleen.... I may have to come visit you to get warm! Anybody else? Bea?
Linda.... you were very lucky to have spotted a eagle this morning! It seems as if they have moved on to greener pastures for the time being :) I just know they will come back.
it's almost the weekend. Enjoy, everyone!

Bobbie

I think we'd better enjoy the cooler temps today, weather channel says 90 tomorrow! Just in time for all the Bix runners & street fair.
No one home at the nest. Hear a lot of chirps & wind through the leaves. Have to check again later.
How's the packing Bea? Hope you aren't working too hard!

Cherrycarol

The Alcoa osprey fledged today. Carolyn has a video of Miracle.

Mavis

5:39 PM EDT

Guess L and J are enjoying a vacation of sorts since "demanding Rudy" may have moved on. They sure showed a lot of patience with that "wee one"!

I'm so freaking mad right now...I just don't understand what is happening all over the world right now. It's like everyone has mad cow disease or something.

http://rt.com/news/175636-iraq-jonah-tomb-mosul/

Bea Griffore

Linda, so good to read you saw an eagle this morning! I think this is the time of year that we don't see much of them at all, either in or around the nest. Like Mavis said they are probably taking their yearly vacation and good for them. They work pretty hard no matter how many eaglets they raise at a time. This year they sure had to fight some battles.

Bobbie, yes the Bix Seven Race is always hot and humid, isn't it? It always amazes me how many people run in that race year after year in those conditions. We used to go watch every year and our daughter ran it a couple of times. Now, I stay home and watch it on TV! I'm not so big on the huge crowds of people but sure would like some that awesome food that makes your tummy growl just from the smell!

The packing.....well, it's getting there. I have until Aug 22 to be totally done done done! I'm sure getting rid of lots of stuff and that's not easy for me. Some things it seems I have had forever and I can remember who it came from but it no longer serves a purpose and it's time to let go. Letting go is the hard part. But I do know I need to lighten the load!

Cristine, I had goose bumps this morning!!! Good thing you went to the pool the other day. Days good for that have been few and far between. Ya, I need to travel to a warmer place too. So, I'm going to before you know it! FL within a couple months it looks like.

Carol, we got .7" of rain today. And yes I do think we needed it. Things are looking less droopy now.

Mavis, I understand your anger completely. The world is in a mess and nobody willing to try to make peace or let anyone make peace. Some don't want to talk peace and some of those, in my mind, have every right to fight back. Peace? Not sure there is such a thing any more. Sad, isn't it?

Well, folks I think it's dinner time and the rest of the night I'm going to sit with my feet up. Have a terrific weekend!

Wendy

Oh where, oh where has our Rudy gone? Oh where, oh where can he be? No sighting for a while (insert cricket sounds here).

Cherrycarol

I can't believe we haven't seen a thing for so long. :(
Mavis all this killing is HORRIBLE!!

Bea Griffore

Wendy, pretty cute! Just checkig in and thought my video feed was frozen with the sound still on. But I can see leaves moving just a bit. Everything is so still!

Carol, do you think L & J have taken Rudy up or down river to learn how to fish? Or maybe show him where he can settle as long as it's not too close to the nest and he doesn't bother them next nesting season? Kind of hard trying to think like an eagle and figure where they are.

It's such a quiet, still day in the nest area.

Cherrycarol

GM At 7:30 pm last night I did hear L or J but never seen him. Probably sitting at the top of the tree top. Still kind of muggy out. Beautiful looking at the nest with the sun shining down. I keep checking in but haven't see an eagle.
Bea Yes Rudy should be watching & learning. I saw where the baby's stay with in a mile of the nest for 6 to 8 weeks. But 1 mile could be anywhere. Even over my house.
HAGD EVERYONE!!

Cristine

That's an interesting thought, Carol....that Rudy could even be close by your house :) I never thought about our eagles being on the Illinois side of the river, but I guess that's very possible!
A beautiful high of 82 today. I see a lot of 70's in the 10 day forecast. All of you cooler weather eagle-fans will be very happy!
Bea... hope you got to rest with your feet up this weekend. You deserve it.

Bobbie

Carol as you know I also live in East Moline on top of Archer drive. When I was out walking with my daughter about 10 am today, I thought I saw a hawk. But my daughter said it was too big for a hawk. I think it might have been a young eagle. We have seen adult eagles in the winter flying overhead so it is possible.

Cristine

7:20 P.M. nest time..... Adult eagle in the nest! It really doesn't look like Liberty OR Justice to me. Who is it?

Cristine

By 7:40 when I checked back it was gone.

Cristine

And now it's back! It acts all nervous like it doesn't belong there. Gone again.

Cherrycarol

GN Boy is it ever cool out. Going to be perfect all week. about 80 for the high.
Cristine Darn I turned off my puter about 7so I missed it.

Bobbie I have a customer that lives by you. My friend lives in Silvis just over from u & she sees a lot of hawks. I see a lot this year too soaring around. Eagles were def. up here soaring around last winter. Over Ave. of the cities. But the Rock River is not far from me. I think they fly between the Miss. & Rock. There where hundreds by the dam last winter. Carol

Cristine

Good morning everyone. I wished you could have seen that eagle, Carol so you could give your opinion. It made me wonder if it wasn't the intruder eagle that so many people saw last week.... the one with the "almost" white head. It was hard to tell because of the lighting, but the facial features just didn't look right to be Liberty or Justice. Maybe someone on OT saw it?

Bobbie... I didn't realize you lived so close too. Wouldn't it be great if all of us Quad City area people could get together for lunch sometime, maybe at the Captain's Table? And bring our binoculars of course!

The farmer and I got 12 quarts of sweet corn frozen yesterday. What a job. But it tastes SO good in the winter when the snow is flying. I always like to serve it for the holidays, because it's so special.

Have a great day and a great week everyone.

Bobbie

11:40 CST
I knew a lot of eagle watchers were in the QC area, just not how close to me. I'm going to check out the nest on Wed. Too many other appts. to check before then. I hope someone will be at home in the nest area! Haven't been on the site when others have spotted eagles visiting. Could strange eagle be one of L/J other chicks?

Bobbie

Cristine, I remember helping my Mom freeze sweet corn! My Dad & brother worked at John Deere & some of their co-workers were farmers. When the sweet corn was ready the farmers would bring pickup trucks loaded with it. I think one year my Mom & I did 30 dozen ears! She would par-boil it & then we would cut it from the cob into big bowls. She would put it into ziplock bags to freeze it. Yummy in the winter, like just picked. She didn't like leaving it on the cob, she said it tasted "cobby". Whatever that meant.

Joyce

My canning story is from Calfornia. Every year we shared canning string beans with 3 other families. One of the grandparents knew how to use the pressure cooker. We snapped and strung beans over a weekend and produced many jars for each family. This went on for about 5 years and after the grandparents passed away, our canning ceased to be.( I guess we were afraid of the pressure cooker and the kids were all too busy to snap and string.) When opening up our families last jar of beans, I lamented, "Gee, our last jar of beans". Hearing that, my hubby, Rich, announced "Great" I HATED those beans!" Always a fun story to tell. Rich just loved the whole "bean" weekend, having fun with friends and bonding with all of the kids.
P.S. By the way, my maiden name is BEAN!

Bobbie

Great story, Joyce. My Mom also canned beans, only in a hot water bath. My favorite vegetable Mom canned was beets, we were the only ones who ate them!

Cherrycarol

I think it would be nice to meet each other. The Captains table is a great place to eat.
I bet is was the intruder eagle u saw. If it looked salt & pepper. wish I could have seen it.

Cristine

8:23 P.M. Nest time. It's dusk and both cameras are offline. I loved reading your canning and freezing stories, Bobbie and Joyce! When my husband and I first were married we would get together to do corn with his parents (who lived on the farm down the road) and other families in the "neighborhood". It was an all day project with the men and kids picking and husking outside, while the women were in the kitchen boiling the corn and scraping in off the cobs into the giant bowls. It was my job as the newlywed to squish up the corn with my bare hands and put it into the containers to freeze. I can't even begin to know how much corn we did on that day for all of the families involved. What great memories. My mother-in-law taught me so much.

Mavis

Joyce, Cristine, Bobbie, your stories made me remember something I had not thought about in years. If you stay with me on this...I think the ending will surprise you.

Years ago, in the 70s, I was married with 3 of our four children...and dirt poor. We lived in the country and had a small home on 40 acres. It was hard. I stayed home with the children and my husband worked as a drivers license examiner. Our town had a canning center that helped farmers can their vegetables. This one summer we heard a farmer grew hundreds of acres of tomatoes and had opened his fields up to the public to pick free tomatoes before he planned to plow them under. Well...we were so excited. We borrowed my father-in-laws truck and drove the 15 miles to this farmer's field and we picked a truck load of the most beautiful tomatoes I had ever seen. I was so excited! The next day, my mom and sisters met me at the canning center and we canned and canned and canned tomatoes all day for several days (the men would go back several times to get more tomatoes when we ran out). We canned enough tomatoes for all of ourselves that they lasted for several years. I remember almost crying when I opened the last jar years later to use in a pot of chili. The best tomatoes ever...and they were free!! Fast forward about 20 years and my husband died. That was hard. Three years later, I remarried. My husband was a farmer with farms in a couple of locations. Once, when he took me to his farm about 15 miles away, I had the feeling that I had been there before but didn't realize why I felt that way as nothing looked familiar. The farm had beautiful growing fields of cotton and tobacco and watermelons. I loved that farm. One day, while riding through the melon patch where we would cut a melon and just eat the heart then move on to another one...he told me that one year he grew tomatoes and how the market dropped on them and he had opened the fields up to the public. My heart beat faster...I remember the feeling of realizing I had married the tomato farmer...and that, ladies, was my Robert! I could fill a book with stories like that about him. For the brief time I had him before he died...he was mine...and the love of my life!

Wendy

Mavis...your story brought tears just as when you spoke of Robert on his birthday. What fate had in store for you! You should write a book with your stories.

Bobbie

Mavis, what a great story! Glad that you shared with us. Funny what memories a story told by someone else can bring back to us.

Cherrycarol

Mavis that was an awesome story! I have lots of stories but none about canning. I have never done that.

Cherrycarol

Good morning. Still Off Line! I'm going to Circa 21 today to see a comedy called Love Lies & the Lottery. Another beautiful day. ENJOY!

Bea Griffore

Good morning everyone!

Not sure how so many days got away from me without checking in here but it happened. Sorry to see the TTV cam is offline but I'm listening to the sounds anyway with the NV live.

Mavis I do believe that is the sweetest story I've read in quite some time. I'm so glad you shared that. It gave me goose bumps and put tears in my eyes but it's all a good goose-bumpy teary feeling. :)

The canning stories from everyone else were also a joy to read and brought back many memeories of growing up and helping my mom with canning hundreds of jars of fruits and vegetables. I even canned for a few years myself after I married and became a mom. I canned beans, applesauce, peaches, pears and even beef that was cut up in stew size pieces. I froze corn cut off the cob because canning it did not work for me - it tasted sour and my mom had the same trouble. I don't think anything is a messy as canning peaches and pears. Those pieces were so darn slippery that they would shoot out of our hands onto the floor, making a huge sticky mess! I have lots of good memories about that but also the memory that it was a ton of work. Nothing tasted better than home canned or frozen fruits and vegetables!

It was good to read an eagle has been spotted at the nest recently even though it was not L, J or Rudy.

Today started out to be a "me" day but now I feel guilty about that and have to get busy. Can't remember who wished me time to put my feet up but I have managed to do just that when my body screams at me with sore muscles. It's all good and the days are flying by with closing day getting closer and closer. The end of all this packing work is in sight and I'm actually looking forward to having an adventure once we have our closing done.

Have a wonderful day everyone. It's gorgoeus out there today!

Bobbie

I went down by the river across from the nest but no eagles. Saw a lot of gulls, ducks & geese. Guess Rudy, Liberty & Justice were out hunting some where else. I'll try again soon.

Cristine

Another perfect day in the Q.C. area. A high of 82 with patchy afternoon showers. Actually, we could use a little rain about tnow. Otherwise I am afraid I will have to go water my garden which is a real pain. It's not doing very well anyway. My pepper and tomato plants are so slow growing. They need that heat and humidity we normally get in July, and we just aren't getting it this year. I know a lot of people like this cooler weather, but it's getting in the 50's at night and the plants just don't like it.

Bobbie, thanks for report on the eagles. You must be right, they have gone exploring, probably showing Rudy around the neighborhood, and teaching him how to hunt and fish for himself.

Mavis... that tomato story was a lovely tribute to your husband, Robert. I so enjoyed reading about it, and it touched my heart. Thank you for sharing such a special memory.

Bea... good to hear from you! Glad to hear that you are seeing the "light at the end of the tunnel" as far as packing goes. What a great feeling to rid yourself of all your extra "baggage". I hope to get motivated enough to do it myself someday :) That was great to hear about your canning and freezing memories, too. I never thought about those pears and peaches being s slippery!

Carol... you must have season tickets to Circa 21 :) How was the new show?

Joyce.... Are you still on here, taking a peek, now and then?

Hoping to hear from Mr. John soon. It's been almost two weeks. I've been wondering what is going on with the TTV camera. Maybe he will give us an update this week yet. 4 viewers on the NV. Who are the die-hards out there?

Hi Yes I do have season tickets for Circa. The first time 4 of us girls did it this year & have them for next year too! Love going there & Music Guild too. Oklahoma is coming this week & next. Going to that also. It's amazing how many great singers & performers we have in the QC area.
Bobbie I think they r out & about for sure. But still be nice to get the cam going.
