Alcoa Recycling attended the University of Tennessee's Earth Day event on Wednesday, April 22- the official date of Earth Day. There were a host of different environmental groups from the area to promote environmental awareness to students and staff alike. At Alcoa's booth, approximately 50 Alcoa recycling bins were available to those who signed recycling pledge cards to show their commitment to recycling. Informational recycling guides, Alcoa brochures, recycled content pencils and magnets were distributed as well. The event was aimed to increase awareness about various environmental issues, including recycling. The student environmental group, Students Promoting Environmental Action in Knoxville (SPEAK), organized this campus event.
