Proposal for National Bottle Bill

Last week on Earth Day, Congressman Edward Markey (D- Mass.) re-introduced the Bottle Recycling Climate Protection Act, which would establish a 5 cent national deposit on beverage containers.  This piece of legislation is aimed to increase the recycling rates of beverage containers which in turn will reduce global warming pollution and dependence on foreign energy sources.
