The latest surveys from the Aluminum Association show a sharp increase in the reclamation of used beverage cans in April 2010. The figures show that 109.6 million pounds of used beverage cans were reclaimed in April -- a 14.3% increase over the 95.9 million pounds reclaimed in March.
The April figures represent a 6.1% increase compared to April 2009.
For the year, a total of 377.5 million pounds have been reclaimed. That is down 9.2% from 2009.
