Here’s a meaningful way to celebrate America Recycles Day that will have a long-lasting impact: Download Aluminate, the free recycling app from Alcoa that helps consumers find recycling centers, track how many aluminum cans they recycle, and calculate the cash they can earn as they help protect the environment through recycling aluminum cans.
Alcoa Foundation will donate $1 to Keep America Beautiful for every download of the free app, up to $50,000, to help bolster Keep America Beautiful’s environmental education programs and recycling infrastructure.
The unique “Download to Donate” initiative runs from America Recycles Day (November 15) through January 23, 2011 Alcoa and Alcoa Foundation have invested nearly $3.5 million in community-based recycling programs in the past five years.
