Alcoa Recycling created a custom Silly Bandz™ pack of recycling shapes to promote the importance of Aluminum can recycling. They will be distributed at various community events, recycling initiatives, and to employees to share how important it is to the environment to buy your beverages in cans and then make sure they find their way to a recycle bin. Each shape represents a different fact about aluminum can recycling that is included on the inserts. Here are a few:
Aluminum Can: Today’s aluminum can is 35% lighter than the 1970s model, creating less impact on the environment.
Lightbulb: If every American recycled just one more can per week, we could boost recycling rates in the U.S. from 57% to 75%.
Tree: An aluminum can be recycled and back on the store shelf as a new beverage can in less than 60 days!

The CANcer Crushers are a group of kids in North Texas who are recycling aluminum cans and donating the proceeds to American Cancer Society.
Our mission is to raise recycling awareness in our community and find a cure for cancer.
We would be very interested in your Silly Bandz to help raise recycling awareness as well as raise money for ACS. We would love to hear back from you.
You can find out more about these awesome kids on their Facebook page.
