Congratulations @RecycleManiacs! Over 600 schools recycle over 90 million pounds.

Did you know that during this year's RecycleMania tournament there were 91 million pounds of recyclables and organic materials recovered? This is equivalent to the annual emissions from more than 52.8 million passenger cars; electricity use of more than 32.7 million homes; or the burning of nearly 1.5 million railcars’ worth of coal!!!! Alcoa Foundation partnered with Keep America Beautiful as a key sponsor of RecycleMania, an intense campus recycling competition. For eight weeks, from February 6 to April 2, 2011, more than 600 colleges and universities competed to see who can divert the most waste and collect the most recyclables.
