Hats off to Columbus Ohio, for kicking off an ambitious, city-wide recycling program this week! June 4 marked the first pickup date for the first phase (more than 45,000 homes!) of rollout in the state’s largest city, with material headed to the impressive Rumpke MRF for separation and baling of material. Ultimately, nearly 230,000 homes will have curbside recycling service by February of 2013. And kudos to the Curbside Value Partnership for effective public education and outreach -- done in partnership with the city! Based on what we’re hearing The first loads of recyclables coming into the MRF are clean and plentiful. This program’s sure to move the needle toward our recycling goal of 75% by 2015!
