Have a Happy...and safe...4th of July everyone!

Shari

She truly looks to be guarding all who pass by. Perhaps the thanks to all of you at Alcoa for providing them safe nesting. Happy and safe Independence Day to all.

What a great picture! I had no idea just how beautiful Ospreys are until I had the opportunity to watch this Osprey family on the Yadkin. Thanks so much! I hope you all have a Happy Fourth of July!

Carolyn

Happy Fourth Of July! Love the picture of Juvie on the bridge. She makes a wonderful sentry.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA !.......and THANK YOU to Alcoa and its wonderful people who have given us the opportunity to watch these fascinating birds grow and develop. I live in Cincinnati and we have Peregrine falcons nesting and living on our downtown buildings.(nests provided by Ohio Dept. Nat. Resouces). Its a wondrous sight to walk the busy commercial and shopping areas and look up and see a falcon soaring overhead

Nancy

Around 4:45 two were in the nest. One flew out and perched on a pole, the one left in the nest appears to have been reading him the riot act for the last 15 minutes, I would assume because he flew away. Adorable.
What magnificent creatures!

Beths

At 6

At 6:30 this morning, there was one in the nest and one on the railing of the bridge when 2 others tried to join the one on the railing. Was the 4th one of the parents or from another nest?

At 6:15 this evening, the three were in the nest calling for food when a 4th landed on the bridge and walked around - shortly after an adult flew by close to the nest. Do the parents land on the bridge also?

I wish this camera had sound. I've heard these birds at the lake before but would love too hear these as well. Thanks Alcoa for all you do & bring us these pictures on top of all that!

It is still nice to see the little ones bring their meal back to the nest to dine on. I watched one eat while another looked on as though asking "Ya gonna share that?" Just love watching all of them regardless of age. Thank you for all your efforts!!

let me watch this

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is fantastic blog. A great read. I will definitely be back.
