This morning two of the young ospreys were in the nest eating breakfast, courtesy of Oliveea. Later they were seen on the crane wire ropes and dam handrails talking pretty LOUD with one another.
As for some of your inquiries, I believe you spotted turkey vultures on the dam. From a distance, these birds are similar to turkeys and do not get along with ospreys. These vultures pose little threat of attacking. However, I have seen the ospreys chase them in midair and attack if necessary, especially when protecting their young. Eagles are the only birds that seem to challenge the ospreys when battling for food (we have seen this quite a few times and yes, the Eagles win!).
The temperatures this week are supposed to be in the mid 80's with a good chance of strong storms just about every day.
yesterday I seen 7 looked like turkey birds the Osprey did not like them at all...and the youngest Osprey was in the nest by his self waiting for food, Mom came by but did not have ANY food.
